Chapter 10 Lin Qingyan Refuses to Sign Contract

The young man looked up and met the waitress's enthusiastic gaze. He frowned almost imperceptibly, nodded slightly to her, and then strode inside.

Lin Qingyan was still somewhat uncomfortable with the excessive attention from others, or rather, resistant to it, even though it was just a simple gaze of admiration for a handsome man, without any hostility or aggression.

He has accepted the fact that he was reborn five years ago. He has not yet made his debut, and none of those messy things have happened yet.

The events of his past life were still vivid in his mind. He suspected that he had a long dream, but no dream could be so real.

The aftereffects of this dream will follow him forever, and he doesn't know when they will disappear—maybe a month, a year… or a lifetime. He will live in the shadow of these painful memories forever.

It was just past three o'clock when Li Heng sat down in a corner of the coffee shop near the air conditioner. Lin Qingyan pulled out a chair and sat down opposite him, her expression indifferent. "Mr. Li, hello."

Li Heng looked younger than I remembered. His features were fairly regular, and he had an approachable smile on his face. He looked like an honest man, and he was looking at the boy opposite him in a friendly manner.

"Xiao Yan, why are you being so polite all of a sudden? Just call me Brother Li. What would you like to drink? It's on me."

Lin Qingyan said, "No need, let's get down to business first."

“Okay.” Li Heng nodded, still ordering a glass of orange juice for Lin Qingyan. He took out the contract from his briefcase, opened it, and handed it to the young man, while subtly sizing him up.

The boy sat upright, his fair and handsome face expressionless, his clear eyes deep and calm like a lake, yet he exuded an aura of indifference and detachment.

She was completely different from the uneasy, sensitive, and self-conscious person she was two days ago. How could she have changed so much in just two days?

Li Heng suppressed his doubts, took out a black pen and placed it on the contract, smiling as he said, "I've already told you the details of the contract. You can take a look at it first, and if there are no problems, you can sign it."

Lin Qingyan didn't even look at the contract. He simply pushed it across to the other side. "I'm sorry, Mr. Li, I didn't come here today for this matter. I just wanted to tell you personally that I will not sign this contract."

"Why?"

Li Heng could not hide his surprise.

Li Heng met Lin Qingyan a week ago. It was a sweltering day, and the boy was handing out flyers on the street, dressed in a heavy bear costume.

He happened to see the boy take off his wig, his hair was messy, and he was drinking water with his head tilted back, covered in sweat. He was immediately amazed. The boy's naturally clean and beautiful face alone surpassed many of the young actresses and actors in the entertainment industry.

Even if you don't know anything, just standing in front of the screen as a decorative vase can attract a lot of attention.

Li Heng wouldn't let this opportunity slip by, so he deliberately approached Lin Qingyan and explained his purpose in a friendly manner.

Young people are simple-minded, and their thoughts are written all over their faces. He was short of money, otherwise he wouldn't have gone out to hand out flyers in the sweltering heat, almost suffering from heatstroke, and only earned a hundred or so yuan.

Li Heng seized on this point and quickly won over the boy with sweet words. Since the boy had nowhere to go, he arranged for him to stay in the company's artist apartment in advance.

The signing was practically a done deal, but now they've suddenly changed their minds?

Isn't this just messing with him?
