Chapter 135: Jealousy

An Qingyan picked out an outfit from the dressing room and put it on. The turtleneck sweater covered the mark on his neck. He noticed a line on the cuff and went out to find scissors.

Not knowing where the scissors were, he walked to the locker, bent down and opened the drawer. There were no scissors inside, only a digital camera lying there all alone.

The camera is an older model from several years ago, but it's very well preserved and looks about 80% new.

An Qingyan picked up the camera and was surprised to find a small Q-version Ultraman sticker on the back. He immediately forgot about looking for scissors.

Is this camera Gu Fei's?

But these cute stickers don't fit Gu Ye's style at all. Is this camera very important to him? Otherwise, why would he keep it in his room for so long?

Could it have been a gift from someone else?

Who is that person?

Is it important to him?

"..." An Qingyan realized that he was getting more and more outrageous. He was getting a little jealous even though he didn't know anything. He quickly stopped those messy thoughts.

Just as he was about to put the camera back, the bedroom door opened, and Gu Fei walked in. Upon seeing the scene before him, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, but it vanished in an instant. (Remember https://m.)

But the observant and perceptive An Qingyan still noticed it.

"When did you get up?" The man hugged the boy from behind, lowered his head and kissed the corner of his lips. "Are you hungry? I asked the kitchen to make your favorite food."

"I just got up." An Qingyan was still thinking about other things. He casually raised the camera in his hand and said with a smile, "Brother Fei, is this camera yours? Why does it have such cute stickers?"

Gu Fei said the camera was his, but the stickers were put on by someone else.

An Qingyan casually asked who that person was.

"Hmm..." The man rested his chin gently on the boy's shoulder in an intimate manner. He seemed to think for two seconds before chuckling and saying, "He's a little liar."

His tone was helpless yet tinged with amusement, and the term "little liar" was both affectionate and indulgent, as if he were referring to someone he liked very much.

An Qingyan's smile gradually disappeared. The thing he had just guessed had actually come true. There really was such a person. He had felt a little jealous when he was guessing.

Moreover, hearing Gu Fei say that with his own ears, he was naturally even more jealous. He remained calm and continued to ask, "Are you two very close? Is he very important to you?"

Gu Fei secretly observed the expression on the person in his arms, a playful smile appearing in his deep eyes. He moved his thin lips and said, "Yes, we have a very good relationship, which is very important."

A magnetic, gentle voice reached An Qingyan's ears, but he found it extremely grating. Enraged, he bent his elbow and nudged the man behind him in the stomach, saying, "Since he's so important, then go find him."

The boy's usually soft and gentle voice rose a few decibels, carrying a hint of coldness. He gripped the camera tightly, even wanting to tear off the sticker.

Last night he thought Gu Fei was a jealous person, getting jealous over the smallest things. Now he's become jealous too, but this isn't a small matter—Gu Fei said that person is very important to him!

Who is so important?!

An Qingyan was genuinely angry, and her grip was quite strong. Gu Fei frowned in pain, but found the child's angry expression amusing.

"Yan Yan, Brother Fei has found him."

Upon hearing this, An Qingyan became even angrier, so angry that he wanted to smash the camera into the man's face, but he held back in the end. Looking at the man's ambiguous smile, he felt that something was wrong.

He always felt that Gu Fei was playing him for a fool.

Only he knew that Gu Fei was far from being as serious as he appeared on the surface.

An Qingyan pursed his lips, his mouth turned down, looking somewhat aggrieved. He shoved the camera into the man's hand, said nothing, and turned to walk outside.

Gu Fei sensed something was wrong and quickly chased after him, pulling the boy back into his arms. He held the boy's hand and gently coaxed, "What's wrong?"

"Brother Fei is lying to you."

"If you don't believe me, you can turn on your camera and see."

I knew this guy was messing with him!

I almost got scammed. It's true that people can easily lose their rationality and ability to think when they're in love.

An Qingyan maintained his composure on the surface, but inwardly he breathed a sigh of relief. If a childhood sweetheart suddenly appeared, things would get complicated, and he didn't want the sweet story to turn into a tragic one.

He pressed the camera switch without saying a word.

Surprisingly, there was still power, and the camera was turned on quickly.

He didn't see that the usually calm and composed man behind him now had a hint of tension in his eyes, but his tone remained as gentle as ever: "Open the photo album and take a look."

Upon hearing this, An Qingyan opened the photo album.

Looking at the photo on the screen, he frowned slightly. There were two people in the photo: a boy of about fifteen or sixteen and a boy of about eight or nine.

The camera was probably held by the little boy. The boy on the screen was sitting on a bench, looking down at the book in his hands. He wasn't looking at the camera. The profile of his face was delicate and superior, slightly childish, and exuded a cold and aloof aura.

This is clearly Gu Fei in his youth, not much different from now, with a similar temperament. He was good-looking since childhood, only his features were more childlike, and now he is more mature.

The little boy next to him was smiling happily at the camera, his peach blossom eyes curving into crescents, his fair skin making him look exceptionally delicate and adorable.

But this child… After seeing the little boy’s appearance clearly, An Qingyan was completely shocked. His eyes widened, and a storm raged within him, making him question the meaning of life.

This child looks so much like him when he was a child—not just like, but exactly the same! Is there really someone in this world who looks exactly like him?!

His hands trembled as he quickly flipped through the photos. The main subjects were Gu Fei as a young boy and the child who looked exactly like him; there were dozens of photos.

The child's clothes were clearly ill-fitting, faded from washing, and had an Ultraman print on the chest that had already faded. But An Qingyan remembered that he had a similar outfit when he was a child.

Zhou Yuelan rarely bought him new clothes, but he had worn this outfit for two or three years, so he naturally remembered it.

So, this child is none other than him.

The boy's Adam's apple bobbed, and he nervously swallowed. A sudden thought flashed through his mind, and he remembered the childhood diary he had found at the Lin family's house.

During the summer vacation when he was eight years old, Zhou Yuelan worked for a wealthy family, and he went with her. There he met a handsome older brother who didn't like to talk or smile.

He used the money he earned from selling scrap to buy preserved plum candies, and he would give one to his older brother every day...

Plum candy... Gu Fei gave him a plum candy on the night they met, and even when he was sick in his previous life, the man who took care of him also gave him plum candy.

An Qingyan originally thought that Gu Fei simply liked this kind of candy, but she didn't expect it was because of him... because he loved to eat it.

The little liar Gu Fei mentioned earlier was actually someone important—it turned out to be him, not someone else…

They've known each other since they were children.

Gu Fei still remembered him, but he had no recollection of it at all, which was completely illogical. His memory wasn't that bad; he would remember more or less what happened when he was eight years old.

An Qingyan's hand holding the camera trembled uncontrollably, his heart pounding. He turned to look at the man, his reddened eyes brimming with tears, "Brother Fei..."

His voice was trembling, "What happened? I don't remember anything."

"Just like you wrote in your diary." Gu Fei pulled the man into his arms, gently ruffling his hair, his magnetic voice softening slightly.

“That year, one of my maids was pregnant and had to go back to her hometown to give birth. She happened to know your adoptive mother, Zhou Yuelan, so she introduced Zhou Yuelan to work at my house.”

"You came to my house when you were eight years old."

An Qingyan leaned on Gu Fei's shoulder, somewhat bewildered. He gripped the man's clothes tightly, remained silent for a moment, and then looked up at him with his wet eyes. "So, we've known each other for a long time."

After saying that, he lowered his eyes with guilt. "Brother Fei, I was homeless on the street that night. Did you take me home because you recognized me? But I don't remember you."

Gu Fei smiled and lowered his head to kiss the boy's earlobe. "Yan Yan looks almost the same as when he was little." He had a good memory and a deep impression of An Qingyan, so he recognized him at a glance.

An Qingyan was filled with mixed emotions, as if the fog had finally lifted and the truth had been revealed, explaining everything about her past and present lives.

Why would Gu Fei help a complete stranger? It turns out they already knew each other.

Then why... in his previous life, he lived to the age of twenty-four and did not meet Gu Fei? And why did Gu Fei suddenly appear to help him when he was in trouble?

But that doesn't matter anymore.

"What happened next..." The boy frowned in distress and slapped his head hard. "What should I do? I really have no recollection of it at all. It's as if this memory has disappeared from my mind."

Gu Fei grabbed his wrist, stopping him from moving.

He has no sense of pain, so don't hurt yourself unnecessarily.

"It's okay, it doesn't matter if you don't remember," Gu Fei comforted him. "It's enough that Brother Fei remembers you."

"Not long after, I went abroad to study. On the day I left, you and Zhou Yuelan were still taking care of the family. A few days later, I called home from abroad, wanting to talk to you."

“But the housekeeper, Ms. Shen, who answered the phone, told me that the maid who went back to her hometown to give birth had returned, so Zhou Yuelan was no longer working for the Gu family, and you went back with her.”

“I was studying abroad and didn’t come back often, so we lost contact after that.”

"I see..." Still unable to explain why he didn't have this memory, An Qingyan put the question aside and tiptoed to kiss the man's thin lips.

"I'm sorry, I misunderstood you earlier."
