Chapter 29 Indirect Kiss

A few customers were still queuing in front of a popular chain milk tea shop, which also had a lot of delivery orders. The staff were busy with other things and asked the customer in front of them without looking up, "What would you like to order?"

Gu Fei looked at the various fancy drink names on the menu and felt stumped for the first time. He rarely drank milk tea or similar beverages, and he would never buy them himself.

So, Mr. Gu, who is usually decisive and efficient in business, stared at the menu for a long time without saying a word. There were still customers queuing behind him, and the clerk was getting a little impatient. "What would you like to order?"

As she spoke, she finally looked up at the customer who hadn't ordered yet, then paused visibly for two seconds before hearing the customer's magnetic yet indifferent voice: "What's the signboard here?"

The shop assistant blushed slightly, all traces of impatience vanished, replaced by a warm yet shy smile, as she deliberately tucked stray hairs behind her ears.

"Sir, our signature dish is Mango Pomelo Sago. It's refreshing and packed with ingredients, made with fresh seasonal fruits, perfect for a hot summer day like this..."

Gu Fei only found the waitress noisy and completely ignored her expression and small movements. She spoke coldly and expressionlessly: "One mango pomelo sago, no ice, 50% sugar, please."

A few minutes later, Gu Fei, carrying the packaged mango pomelo sago, walked out as if no one else was watching, under the gaze of all the shop assistants and customers.

Lin Qingyan sat on a bench by the street, looking around blankly. Gu Fei had told him to wait here, but he had disappeared. He waited obediently for about ten minutes before seeing the man walk around the corner, carrying a drink.

Oh... so Gu Fei asked him if the milk tea was good because he wanted to drink it himself, so he went to buy some.

Lin Qingyan was lost in thought when he waved to the man who was walking towards him, but to his surprise, the man simply handed him the bag and said, "Take it."

Lin Qingyan:?

Gu Fei said, "Here, have some."

Lin Qingyan hesitated, looking at the half-finished cup of milk tea in her hand, then at the other cup of milk tea handed to her, and then at the man's calm and indifferent expression. For a moment, she was speechless.

He thought Gu Fei bought it for himself, but it turned out to be for him. He already had a cup, so why would Gu Fei bother to buy another one? What kind of tactic is this?

“This one tastes better,” Gu Fei said confidently.

Lin Qingyan:?

Then, Gu Fei snatched the half-finished milk tea from his hand, handed the cup she had bought to him, and stared at him calmly.

Lin Qingyan: "..."

Although she didn't understand, Lin Qingyan still took the cup of mango pomelo sago, took out the straw, inserted it, and took a sip. It was indeed much better than the previous cup. It was cool and refreshing, not too sweet, and had a lot of toppings and fruit pieces. She felt very satisfied after taking a sip.

He smiled and sincerely praised, "This one tastes even better."

Gu Fei gave a reserved "hmm," turned around and walked forward, casually tossing the milk tea she had just snatched from the boy into a roadside trash can. It arced through the air and landed perfectly in the trash can.

That was a clean and efficient move.

After doing all that, the man's complexion improved slightly.

Lin Qingyan: "..."

Why is this guy so upset about a cup of milk tea?

Completely baffled, Lin Qingyan lowered his head and took two more sips of mango pomelo sago. Hmm... delicious. Oh well, better not to think about it anymore. Gu Fei's thoughts are like a bottomless abyss; he really can't see through them.

However, Gu Fei was genuinely good to him, and he could sense it. Lin Qingyan quickly caught up with the man, and the two walked side by side on the street. "Brother Fei, I just made some money. Let me treat you to a meal, although I can't treat you to anything fancy."

Gu Fei said, "Okay."

In the end, Lin Qingyan chose a clean and tidy noodle shop nearby and ordered two bowls of zha jiang mian (noodles with minced meat sauce). He was worried that Gu Fei, who was used to eating at high-end restaurants, would not like it. Unexpectedly, the man finished all the noodles in his bowl without saying a word.

Lin Qingyan didn't think the noodles with minced meat sauce at this shop were particularly delicious; they were a bit too salty, and he could only eat half a bowl before he couldn't eat anymore.

It was already dark when we went out after dinner.

Gu Fei drove over, and the two got in the car. Lin Qingyan sat in the passenger seat. "Should we go back now?"

"I'm not going back yet." Gu Fei didn't say where he was going. He started the car and stopped at a traffic light a few minutes later. Gu Fei grabbed a bottle of mineral water, opened it, and took a couple of sips. The noodles he had just eaten were a bit salty, and he was thirsty.

Lin Qingyan watched him drink water out of the corner of her eye, then subtly shifted her gaze to the window.

He felt like there were tiny claws scratching at his heart, because the mineral water Gu Fei was drinking was the same bottle that Gu Fei had fed him in the square earlier.

Wouldn't that count as an indirect kiss?

The car drove for about ten minutes before finally entering the underground parking lot of a large shopping mall. The mall was quite lively at this time of day, with people coming and going.

Lin Qingyan walked beside Gu Fei, and many passersby would turn their attention to them, especially young women, who looked at them with amazement and curiosity.

The two men were absolutely striking in appearance. One was a tall, mature man with a cold and aloof face, dressed in a bespoke suit and leather shoes; the other was a slender, handsome young man dressed in a simple T-shirt and jeans.

These two handsome men, each with their own strengths and charm, are surprisingly well-matched when they walk together. People are amazed by their appearance and curious about their relationship.

Lin Qingyan felt a little uncomfortable under the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd. He still didn't like walking in crowded places and was afraid that people would focus their attention on him.

Even though he knew this wasn't him from his previous life, and that no one would recognize him on the street, let alone look at him with disdain or attack him with harsh words.

But he reacted with a conditioned reflex of panic and helplessness, even lowering his head and subconsciously avoiding the stares of passersby, until he followed Gu Fei to a high-end brand clothing store.

The store was much less crowded, and Lin Qingyan breathed a sigh of relief. When she looked up, she met Gu Fei's eyes, which seemed to hold a hint of confusion and worry.

Before the man could speak, Lin Qingyan interjected, "Are you looking to buy clothes?"

He clearly didn't want to discuss what had just happened.

Gu Fei went along with his suggestion and nodded, saying, "You help me choose."

"Okay, but please don't be put off by my taste." Lin Qingyan gave the man a relaxed smile and began to carefully select clothes.

A smiling sales assistant approached, and just as she was about to ask if she needed any help, Gu Fei gave her a look. The sales assistant then nodded politely and respectfully to him and quietly withdrew.
