Chapter 45 Arrival

Although Yu Baolian and the others did not participate in the two zombie waves in the first half of the night, they saw from the car window how those hideous zombies tore into humans.

The two big bosses, Wen Yubai and Shi Dongqing, were not in the car at that time. They were really scared, fearing that the car they were riding in would be overturned by zombies and they would be dragged out and eaten.

Not long after Wen Yubai got off the car, Yu Baolian also heard urgent whistles and faint screams coming from the front of the convoy. No matter how stupid she was, she could guess that their convoy was attacked again, and Wen Yubai must have rushed there.

As a weak woman who clung to the thigh of a big boss, Wang Baolian was deeply dependent on Wen Yubai. Even if Shi Dongqing was in charge here, she still felt uneasy because this was not her golden thigh.

So she was very worried that something might happen to Wen Yubai. She didn't want anything to happen to Wen Yubai in any way. So after Wen Yubai got off the car, she stretched her neck and waited for her to come back.

As a result, the commotion outside stopped and the drivers arranged by the army to drive for them all came back. However, Wen Yubai did not come back until the convoy in front was ready to start again.

Now not only Yu Baolian was panicked, but Shi Dongqing and the others were also panicked. Everyone said in a hurry that they couldn't leave until Wen Yubai came back.

Fortunately, a soldier came running over at this time and told them that Wen Yubai had just injured his foot in the battle and was placed in a medical vehicle, so he would not return to this vehicle.

Everyone asked in a flurry and found out that Wen Yubai had only sprained his foot and had no other injuries, and then they all breathed a sigh of relief.

After the car started, it was almost dawn. After a sleepless night, Yu Baolian and her friends were tired and sleepy. They leaned on each other and dozed off involuntarily.

Fortunately, there were no more accidents on the rest of the journey. Although the road became bumpy and the car was shaking violently, fortunately there was no fault, so they didn't have to abandon the car and walk, otherwise they would have had to go through a lot of trouble.

Yu Baolian and the others who were in the middle section of the convoy thought that the convoy was moving slowly because the road was too rough.

Wen Yubai knew, however, that their journey had not been peaceful at all, as they were attacked by zombies all the way.

However, Captain Pei had a good idea. The convoy was headed by a large truck, followed by a road clearing vehicle.

If a zombie attacks, the truck will knock it away first, and those that are caught under the wheels will be pushed to the side of the road by the cleaning truck. If the people in the cars passing by don't look at the side of the road, they won't notice the tragic situation.

The convoy continued to move forward and backward until noon, when the 123rd Legion of City B and more than 100,000 survivors finally arrived at the resettlement site in City E.

Before the apocalypse, it was only a two or three hour journey, but after the apocalypse, even though there were still cars available, it still took them a whole day and night to get there, and more than a hundred people were killed or injured along the way.

Just as the resettlement site in City B was built in the barracks of the 123rd Corps in City B, the resettlement site in City E was also built in the barracks of the 125th Corps in City E.

The convoy at the resettlement site in City B, including the cars carrying the survivors, were unable to drive into the resettlement site in City E and were neatly lined up outside the resettlement site.

"There are too many survivors at the resettlement site in City E and there is no place to park, so our car cannot drive in. Everyone get out of the car and follow me in. After resting in this resettlement site for two days, we will continue to move towards the inner road." Captain Pei was shouting there with a loudspeaker again.

Captain Pei and his men had no intention of handing over the survivors they escorted here directly to the resettlement site in City E, and the survivors also knew that this was not their final destination.

The 123rd Legion in City B only planned to stay here for two days to replenish supplies, and then head north together with the 125th Legion and 300,000 survivors.

However, for the survivors whose homes are in cities C, E, and F, their relatives are likely to be in the resettlement site in city E. Therefore, as soon as they entered the resettlement site, many people looked around with anticipation.

After the survivors from City A and City B entered the resettlement site in City E, they found that most of the supplies of the 123rd Corps in City B had been washed away by the tsunami and there were not enough tents to accommodate the survivors they brought with them.

The weather nowadays is not only cold but it rains frequently. It is impossible to sleep outdoors. Even if you don’t freeze to death, you will die of illness.

After Captain Pei and his men brought the survivors to a large playground at the resettlement site in City E, they asked everyone to stay there. He took his men to negotiate with the military at the resettlement site in City E and asked them to provide some tents.

The medical vehicle that Wen Yubai was in was filled with disabled wounded soldiers. Soldiers who stayed behind at the resettlement site in City E got on the vehicle to check on them, but when they saw Colonel Fu, they stood at attention and saluted at the door of the vehicle: "Hello, sir!"

Colonel Fu said kindly, "Thank you for your hard work."

Needless to say, the subsequent inspections were unnecessary, and the three medical vehicles of the 123rd Corps of City B were allowed to enter the resettlement site, and Wen Yubai, who was sitting in one of them, also enjoyed the privilege by taking advantage of the power of others.

Because most of the soldiers in the 125th Corps had been outside searching for survivors, there were not many soldiers left at the resettlement site in City E. They were focused on defense and were scattered around the resettlement site. There were almost no soldiers to be seen inside the resettlement site.

Wen Yubai looked outside from the car window and felt that the survivors in the resettlement site in City E were not restrained by soldiers, so the survivors in this resettlement site were a little chaotic, unlike the survivors in the resettlement site in City B who were well behaved.

The medical vehicle that Wen Yubai was riding in was parked next to the playground where the survivors of the resettlement site in City B were located. Everyone else in the vehicle sat as still as an old dog, except for her, who was looking out the window expectantly.

"Xiao Wen, are you from around here?" Wen Yubai heard Captain Fu ask.

"No, but my sister is in City E. If she knew that someone had come to the resettlement site in City B, she would definitely come to find me." Wen Yubai turned around and spoke politely.

Wen Yubai could feel that after she said this, the atmosphere in the car became a little depressing, and everyone looked at her strangely, with sympathy.

When Wen Yubai didn't understand what was going on, Captain Fu smiled awkwardly and said, "Xiao Wen, you are so capable, your sister will definitely be fine."

"That's for sure." Wen Yubai answered confidently.

Wen Yubai then understood that these people were worried about her and had not considered the problem that something might happen to her sister. If an accident happened, she would be devastated because of her excessive expectations.

Although Wen Yubai said it with certainty, she was a little uneasy in her heart. Wen Yuxian was indeed fine in her previous life, and she was afraid that her rebirth would change some things and end up hurting Wen Yuxian.

Because of this uneasiness, Wen Yubai leaned against the window and stretched his neck to look outside.

Less than ten minutes after Captain Pei left, survivors from the resettlement site in City E came over and asked among the survivors from the resettlement site in City B about how to find their relatives.

Among them, the parents of student A acted the fastest. Wen Yubai "saw" that many of student A's parents hugged their family members who came to look for them, crying miserably, looking so pitiful.

But the ones who cried the most miserably were the parents who couldn't find their children in the team. Their extremely desperate and sad expressions made people feel sad.
