Hearing Yu Tang quietly watching him approach, his face covered in dirt...

Inside the cockpit, Yu Chaoxian gripped the control stick tightly with both hands. The F-22's engines roared, and the fuselage trembled slightly, like a beast poised to pounce.

Chen Diao acted as the ground crew commander, using hand gestures to direct Yu Chaoxian, whose field of vision was limited, and the runway was operating normally.

Upon receiving takeoff instructions, Yu Chaoxian pushed the throttle valve. As soon as the landing gear retracted, he made a sharp turn, and the gray fuselage of the F-22 pierced the clouds, drawing a fleeting arc in the cumulus clouds at an altitude of 20,000 feet. Sunlight flowed across the stealth coating, eventually disappearing into the shadows of the clouds.

Inside the abandoned hospital on the island.

The radar operator suddenly straightened his back.

A faint signal dot on the screen was moving at Mach 2.3 across the edge of the warning zone. He quickly zoomed in on the sector, typed a series of commands on the keyboard, and the signal feature analysis program began rapidly comparing it against the database.

"Report: Unidentified aerial target, bearing 275, altitude 10,000 meters, abnormal speed... not a civilian aircraft!"

In the command center, all eyes instantly focused on the main screen. The dot of light was moving in a zigzag pattern, disappearing for 3 seconds every 15 seconds—a typical radar scattering pattern of a stealth fighter.

Commander Berenson grabbed the communicator. "Connect the AWACS data!"

The signal trajectory traced a curve on the screen, pointing directly to the core position.

The instant the alarm blared, Berenson saw the signal analysis results: aircraft type matched: F-22 "Raptor".

Berensent was a seasoned veteran, and his entourage included experienced air combat pilots. He immediately ordered F-22s to be scrambled in retaliation.

This fighter jet was flown out of a government air force base without authorization by pilots called upon by Berenson.

This pilot, Sam, had served under Berenson and volunteered to follow his commander, with whom they had shared life and death. Although the pilot was no longer young, a hero never grows old.

Soon, Sam piloted his fighter jet through the clouds, leaving a white contrail in the thin air, locking onto the unexpected F-22. He would never let that fighter jet get close to the island.

Sam piloted his fighter jet in a suicidal manner, crashing directly into Yu Chaoxian's F-22.

Yu Chaoxian suddenly swooped down, then slowed down and circled the island at an extremely low altitude.

Confined in the dormitory prison, Yu Tang comforted the brown-haired girl beside her. When she looked up at the sky outside, a gray-silver light flashed across her eyes. It was so fast that she thought she was hallucinating.

The girl being comforted was named Chloe. She followed Yu Tang's gaze upwards but saw nothing.

"You can't escape!" Sam pushed the throttle valve, and the F-22's engine accelerated, closely following Yu Chaoxian.

Seeing the fighter jets catching up behind him, Yu Chaoxian's lips curled up, and he suddenly plunged into a rain cloud.

Sam followed closely behind Yu Chaoxian and suddenly burst out of the clouds.

Yu Chaoxian's lips curled slightly as his fighter jet shot towards the valley near the island like an arrow. Sam followed closely behind, unaware that Yu Chaoxian had already entered the terrain data into the fire control system—two cliffs ahead suddenly narrowed, and Yu Chaoxian performed a rapid roll at an altitude of 10,000 meters to avoid them.

A steep mountain peak loomed ahead! Sam swerved to avoid it, his wing nearly scraping the cliff face. Had he not been so experienced in combat, that single moment would have been enough to destroy the plane and kill him!

Despite their differing stances, Sam was still shocked by the other side's air combat capabilities, even though they had never met.

But the game of pretend should end now. The back and forth just now was merely a test between the two sides. It's time to get serious now.

Inside the cockpit, Sam's thumb hovered above the launch button. The fire control system hummed, and the red frame on the head-up display steadily framed the silver-gray fighter jet in front of him.

On the radar screen in Yu Chaoxian's cockpit, a bright spot rapidly approached, and a lock-on alarm suddenly sounded: "Missile approaching, bearing 035!"

Sam's missile had locked onto him, and the bomb bay under the fuselage opened.

Yu Chaoxian's cockpit radar issued another warning.

Just as they were about to approach the island, the moment he took off his oxygen mask—BOOM!

Yu Chaoxian's F-22 turned into a fireball and crashed vertically into the sea.

In the command center, Mickey's pupils dilated as he stared at the blinding white light that suddenly burst from the screen, unable to believe what he was seeing. Everyone was watching as the dot representing the F-22 exploded into a patch of static on the radar screen.

Yu Chaoxian's fighter jet crashed.

Carson gave a sly smile and walked out of the control room without a care in the world.

Mickey observed Carson's every move, and when Carson went out, he quietly followed.

On the helicopter hovering in the rainforest, the pilot Ivan could hardly believe what he was seeing, and Ajin caught his breath and dropped the gun in his hand.

Chen Diao, sitting in the cabin, stared at the falling flames, completely disoriented, and collapsed to the ground.

Yu Tang looked up and saw the falling light in the night. Her heart ached suddenly, then felt empty. A sharp pain instantly spread from her heart, a feeling she had never experienced before.

She raised her hand to her heart, not understanding why such anxiety had suddenly erupted within her. Her restless heart could not find peace for a moment, and she subconsciously gripped the bullet on the necklace to relieve the suffocating feeling of unease that was difficult to dispel.

Chloe, the girl next to Yu Tang, also noticed Yu Tang's anxiety. Yu Tang had been comforting her the whole time, and now it was Chloe's turn to comfort Yu Tang.

Berenson, who was staring at the screen in the factory, could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He had to admit that Yu Chaoxian, who was piloting the F-22, had extremely strong combat capabilities and physical qualities.

Unfortunately, we have different stances.

Berenson glanced at the dilapidated window and immediately gestured for his soldiers to install X9 gas trap glass ampoules in the pipes, suspending the ampoules in the airflow channels as a defensive measure.

He glanced at the time; only three hours remained, yet the black market remittance account remained silent. Not only that, the government even dared to send fighter jets to forcibly land on the island.

This infuriated Berenson.

Not wanting to wait idly, Berenson glanced at the dormitory prison and learned that one of the hostages was a relative of an official who was trying to bribe him to betray his comrades. Berenson decided to target his relative first.

Whose child isn't a child? If officials can save a child's life just because they have money, does that mean the children of ordinary people deserve to die?

Berenson looked around and finally stopped at a dormitory prison. A suffocating shadow fell over Yu Tang and Chloe.

In the government command center, the minister received a video.

The moment the video was opened, a heart-wrenching scream filled the air, blood splattered onto the screen, and terrified screams filled the surroundings.

The electric drill pierced through the hostage's limbs, and the close-up of the bloody mess made the staff officer next to him cover his mouth and run to the bathroom to vomit.

The video features a cruel voice from Berenson: "Two hours until the X9 missile launch. Quickly transfer the money to the designated account, or I will kill two people every half hour. They will suffer a worse fate than the boys now, and I will release the video to the media so that your voters know that the president's Americas government is a useless piece of trash!"

The deceased was a boy.

Just now, Berenson had already dragged the girl out, but then he noticed a group of girls in the prison next door being pushed to the outside by a boy to form a wall. He then pointed away from the girls and towards the fat boy at the very back.

Chloe fainted in Yu Tang's arms from fright.

The island is surrounded by steep cliffs, and the only landing point is blocked by mercenaries using M2 heavy machine guns and infrared alarms. Landing from here is virtually impossible.

The surrounding sea area is all within their sight; it's impossible for them to land under their noses.

The tidal currents here are extremely fast, causing a lot of noise to appear on the sonar and radar. Yu Chaoxian ordered the four-person team of the submarine to operate during low tide, using the noise of the ocean currents to cover up the diving activity.

At the prison's drainage outlet.

Chen Diao, Ajin Ivan, and their four-person team evaded the patrol boat's sonar and swam to this location using closed-circuit respirators, which eliminate the risk of bubble exposure.

In the instant the fighter jet crashed into the sea, Chen Diao genuinely thought Yu Chaoxian had been hit. But soon, a man's voice came through the communication headset, reassuring him that the mission would proceed as planned.

Suppressing his excitement, Chen Diao replied, "Received."

Chen Diao, A Jin, and Ivan will dive into the sea with the four-person team sent by the minister, just in case the four people do something to Yu Chaoxian. Anyway, Chen Diao doesn't trust the four-person team.

Squad leader Kai glanced at the time. There were still two hours until the X9 missile was launched and one hour until their retreat. If they couldn't wait for Yu Chaoxian within an hour, they would have to leave this place.

With three minutes to go until the appointed time, a tall and imposing figure appeared in the abandoned tunnel.

Ivan, having put on his protective mask, turned around and saw Yu Chaoxian sweep his wet hair back, water droplets rolling down his jawline. Beneath his sharp brow bone were a pair of narrow eyes, and his nose was as straight as if carved by a knife. The water glistened and outlined the distinct lines of his face, every curve exuding a cold and sharp aura.

Wow, the boss with his wet, swept-back hair is so handsome!

Ajin's eyes lit up as she handed the equipment bag to the man who looked perfectly fine. Chen Diao raised his hand and bumped fists with Yu Chaoxian, then punched Ivan, telling him not to look at him with such a disgusting expression.

Only Yu Chaoxian knew about this tunnel. It was Yu Chaoxian's special task force that blew it out during the mission to rescue the president.

As for the fighter jet being hit, it was because Yu Chaoxian deliberately flew to this area and crashed, then silently swam to this tunnel after diving into the seabed. The mercenaries in the abandoned hospital were all distracted by Yu Chaoxian's fighter jet, and their firepower was all focused on the air, which allowed the submarine to successfully infiltrate the seabed.

Yu Chaoxian changed into his combat uniform and protective mask, neatly putting on his equipment. He glanced at the time; there was still an hour until launch.

The moonlight shone on the seashore, creating a shimmering effect.

Berenson, having served as a commander in the military for many years, overlooked the "escapee" mentality of the search and rescue personnel, focusing on guarding against external threats while ignoring the dangers lurking within.

The barrel of the TAC-50 sniper rifle protruded slightly from the edge of the drainage channel.

Mercenaries at the coastal landing point appeared in his scope. They patrolled back and forth, guns in hand, and diagonally opposite him were other mercenaries on patrol as well.

As for the watchtower, the mercenary holding a sniper rifle focused intently on the distant sea, observing any suspicious movements.

Yu Chaoxian heard Mingming's voice through his communication headset. Mingming was controlling the drone to fly at an extremely low altitude, about 30 meters high, to monitor everything on the island. The drone was flying along the terrain as if crawling on the ground, a height at which enemy radar would normally be unable to detect it.

The number of mercenaries on the island is not the eight the government claims; it is at least double, at least sixteen.

The leaves of the bushes occasionally drifted across the scope's field of view in the wind. Yu Chaoxian's pupils contracted as he aimed at the target. The wind swept past the stray hairs on his forehead, and he held his breath as he pulled the trigger.

"call out--"

The 12.7mm bullet pierced the silencer, the muffled sound of the skull shattering was dispersed by the night wind, and the target's body tilted towards the edge of the sea like a puppet with broken strings.

Just as the body was about to hit the sea, a hand wearing a waterproof tactical glove emerged from underwater—it was Ivan.

Ivan supported the back of his neck with one hand and held his waist with the other. The ripples from the body entering the water were gentler than the ripples caused by a falling leaf, without making any splashing sound and without arousing any vigilance from the other side.

Yu Chaoxian continued to use the same trick to eliminate the mercenaries on the other side, while Ajin in the water raised her hands and steadily caught the corpse.

The mercenary on the watchtower was focused on the calm sea, unaware that his companion's body, fifteen meters away, was being slowly dragged to the seabed and sank with stones.

The sea breeze rustled the leaves, and for special forces soldiers, even the slightest sound was enough to conceal them.

The mercenary turned around to look behind him, and was immediately met with the man's handsome face.

Wearing a dark combat uniform, Yu Chaoxian squatted on the rusty iron railing and smiled at him, his dark pupils seeming to blend into the night.

The mercenary saw the dagger in the man's hand gleaming silver in the moonlight. The next second, a fierce glint flashed in Yu Chaoxian's eyes, and all the man's words were stuck in his throat.

In the dark corridor tunnel, Chen Diao lay close to the ground, hearing the distinct, faint sound of his boot soles rubbing against the concrete floor.

There was a mercenary guarding the back door, just like the one Mingming had relayed.

The target mercenary, with his back to Chen Diao, was obliviously adjusting the monitoring equipment. The static crackling in his earpiece masked Chen Diao's approaching footsteps behind him.

The mercenary suddenly felt a chill behind him and was about to turn around when Chen Diao covered his mouth with his left hand and drew his knife with his right. The sharp blade pierced the mercenary's carotid artery, and warm blood gushed out instantly.

The mercenary's body stiffened abruptly, and he managed to squeeze out a few muffled sounds. Chen Diao tightened his grip on the mercenary's mouth, silencing his dying screams and struggles.

Chen Diao's close combat skills were taught by Yu Chaoxian, and he was the most proficient at killing with a dagger. If the boss is number one, and he says he's number three, no one dares to claim to be number two. Mickey and Mingming have to step aside.

I felt the twitching under my hand gradually subside and eventually return to calm.

"Clear it." Chen Diao waved his hand behind him. The four-person team that followed gently laid the body down, slumped over the table in a dozing position.

Kai, the leader of the four-man team, witnessed everything. Whether it was Yu Chaoxian's perfect coordination with the two men when he sniped the target, or Chen Diao's efficient killing method, their combat strength was in no way inferior to that of the regular army, and even far superior to it.

Especially Yu Chaoxian, whose smile is handsome, yet he exudes a terrifying and oppressive aura.

Kai was greatly shocked. He was instructed by Carson that if he successfully landed on the island, he should eliminate Yu Chaoxian after he dismantled the X9 poison gas missile.

But can those four really do it?

After dealing with the three guards outside and preparing for Mingming's landing, Yu Chaoxian gave hand signals to Ajin and Ivan, who then covered Yu Chaoxian's way to the launch control room on the second basement level.

However, before heading to the control room, Yu Chaoxian's gaze fell upon the prison on the basement level.

The moment Yu Chaoxian pushed open the dilapidated iron gate, the mercenaries crouching in the shadows seemed to sense some danger.

Click!

The sound of the gun being chambered was exceptionally clear. Yu Chaoxian leaped out and swiftly drew his gun, shouldered it, and fired during the gap in the opponent's reloading.

Bang! Bang!

A .45 caliber bullet, one shot pierces the heart, another pierces the skull.

The basement level was dark and damp, and the iron-barred dormitory prison was crammed with imprisoned people, with an atmosphere of despair permeating the air.

Yu Chaoxian stepped through the splinters of wood into the smoke-filled prison. The hostages inside had all been given sleeping pills and were in a daze, barely responding to their surroundings.

In the dim light, the man walked through the crowd, his gaze sweeping over every terrified and pained face.

Of all the sobbing and crying, Yu Chaoxian happened to hear that one.

Yu Tang huddled weakly in a corner, hugging her knees, her vision blurred and her ears ringing. The girl next to her, Chloe, had almost been dragged away. Chloe was so shocked she fainted on the spot, but thankfully Yu Tang knew some first aid.

She gently called Chloe's name and fed her some water.

Yu Chaoxian's gaze found its focus, and the violence in his eyes suddenly subsided, transforming into a deep, unfathomable surge of tenderness. He strode forward, his footsteps clattering over the shards of glass, the sound startling a multitude of gazes.

A familiar shadow fell over her. Yu Tang turned and looked up, silently watching the familiar tall figure approach against the light. Her eyes shone brightly against her dirty face.

Author's Note: The latest comments are quite interesting; I didn't expect everyone to be so interested in Yu Chaoxian's career. Since the next chapter is the last one of the main story, I thought I'd say a few more words.

Yu Chaoxian's concern was mostly reflected in Yu Tang's indifference. However, Yu Tang was an independent person who wanted to have her own world and confidence, so their falling out was inevitable.
