Unexpectedly, Mickey Mouse, who was not far away, witnessed the entire scene.
Yu Chao returned to the villa. Yu Tang was still asleep. Just as he was about to go in, he suddenly glanced down and saw dark red bloodstains on his body. He turned around and went to the next room to take a shower.
When he returned to the bedroom, his hair was still damp. The room was filled with Yu Tang's familiar fragrance. He took a deep breath, feeling the peace, and the anger of the past few days gradually subsided.
He noticed the ointment on the table, remembered the message Mickey had sent him, squeezed out some, and carefully applied it to her wrist, spreading the ointment in circles on her skin.
Yu Chaoxian gazed at the person nestled in bed for a long time, his fingertips instinctively reaching out to touch her cheek. Then he remembered that he hadn't washed his hands after applying the ointment, so he went to the bathroom to wash them before coming out.
When he returned, he finally sat down by the bed and gently stroked her cheek with his warm palm. His index finger traveled down to touch her soft lips.
Yu Tang subconsciously stuck out her tongue and pushed away the foreign object on her lips.
This time, the lick landed right on the man's fingertip.
This time, there was no gentle breeze or drizzle; his life, desires, and sins were all contained within the girl in his arms.
Yu Chao kissed her urgently, not giving her a chance to catch her breath. Yu Tang couldn't take it anymore, and her clothes were already torn to shreds. Her pajamas had too many buttons, and he couldn't wait, so he pushed them all up.
Yu Tang was forced to press against everything, her fingers scratching new marks on his bulging back muscles, which were covered in old ones.
The man's bandaged palm covered Yu Tang's sweaty cheek, his thumb gently wiping her wet eyelashes. He cupped her face and kissed her comfortingly.
The water from the shower briefly washed away the blood from Yu Chaoxian's palm—perhaps it was fate, but the wound inflicted by the helicopter was the same one that had been cut by a knife, further deepening the already shallow emotional connection between them.
Blood flowed down their bodies along the water.
After an unknown amount of time, the sound of bells rang out from afar. Yu Tang's wet hair was wrapped around the man's strong forearm. At that moment, Yu Chaoxian leaned down to find her lips, kissing her more and more tenderly and gently, and his movements became more and more intense. Suddenly, he pulled Yu Tang down onto the bed.
Sweat dripped from the man's bent-over movements onto her flushed eyes, and Yu Tang's mind went blank. Yu Chaoxian held her tightly, his own body burning with desire, and together they relived the experience on the bed.
Strands of her hair clung to her neck, which he brushed aside, his knuckles occasionally brushing against her throbbing pulse, sending a slight shiver through Yu Tang.
"Tangtang," Yu Chaoxian ran his fingers through her damp hair, gently kneading the back of her neck, his low, husky voice mingling with her lingering breaths as he kissed her shoulder, "Let's have our own home, okay?"
Unfortunately, Yu Tang was still floating in the afterglow, unable to resist the pleasure brought by her physiological instincts. She was half asleep with her eyes closed and didn't hear what he was saying at all.
It doesn't matter how Yu Tang answers.
The night was still long, and Yu Chaoxian only knew what the night was for. Since she said it was okay, then the night would continue in a good manner.
Snow began to fall outside, piling up in a thick layer, and then it seemed as if rain was falling behind, melting everything. But what did it matter? Even if the world collapsed, Yu Tang would still be sleeping in his arms.
The next day, Yu Tang ignored Yu Chaoxian all day. He went out to look for his phone, and when he tried to go back to his bedroom, the door was locked from the inside.
Yu Chaoxian knew he had angered her, so fine, let her catch up on her sleep in peace.
Yu Chaoxian, wearing a loose bathrobe, was on the phone in his study: "Chief Executive Xu is a rare guest. What, you've been thrown into the desert this time? Helping out isn't out of the question. What benefits would I get... Sure, in a week? Then come to Taicheng to talk."
When Chen arrived, Yu Chaoxian had just hung up the phone. He looked up and saw the bright red scratches on his boss's body, including his chin and shoulder. He didn't even need to think about how many more were on his back.
Wow, how intense must it have been last night?
Yu Chaoxian glanced at the cigarette in his hand, then threw it back on the table and instructed the servant who brought tea to bring Yu Tang a cup of honey water.
As usual, Chen Diao first reported: "Mingming and Mickey have already set off for the embassy to discuss the drone order."
Yu Chaoxian responded with a faint "yes".
“Gideon’s family suppressed the news of his death.” Chen Diao went to find out the news early in the morning. “The police found evidence of McCarthy’s embezzlement in Gideon’s briefcase, and speculated that Gideon was trying to blackmail McCarthy. After the negotiations broke down, a gunfight broke out.”
Yu Chaoxian's reaction was calm; all of this was within his expectations.
He glanced at the time; it was already 12:30. If the person in the bedroom kept sleeping like this, they wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Besides, it was time to get up and eat. With that small body, it was hard to gain some weight; he didn't want to waste it all again.
Yu Chaoxian took a sip of ice water and instructed Chen Diao, "Pack up and prepare to return to Taicheng."
After finishing her meal, Yu Tang went to the sofa to watch TV. One of her shoes fell to the ground, but she didn't pay attention to it. Yu Chaoxian, who was behind her, bent down to pick it up and put it on for her.
Yu Tang kicked him, catching him off guard and even kicking him in the face.
Yu Tang saw the news on TV that California was running for governor. Yu Tang was not interested in politics, but the sunset in California in the background of the news was extremely beautiful.
Seeing that she was staring intently, Yu Chaoxian casually asked, "What, who do you want to support?"
Yu Tang pointed to the sunset behind her and said, "I just think the sunset here is beautiful."
Hearing the man beside her instructing Chen Diao to make arrangements, Yu Tang asked blankly, "Can we go see it? Now?"
That afternoon, the California sunset shown in the news was now vividly reflected in Yu Tang's eyes.
Twilight spread across the sky like an oil painting, with violet clouds piling up on the horizon. A blue Ferrari sped along the coastal highway. Yu Chaoxian, in the driver's seat, casually rested his arm on the window, but his gaze kept glancing to his side. In the passenger seat, Yu Tang had porcelain-white skin, her long black hair flowing in the wind. The evening breeze made her dress cling to her body, outlining her slender figure.
A few teenagers on skateboards swept past the car, carefree and their laughter echoing in the wind. Yu Tang saw their long shadows cast by the setting sun in the rearview mirror, like a scene from a youth movie.
On a roadside bench, an elderly couple with white hair are sharing ice cream. Further away, a traveler in beach shorts is circling around recording with his phone, while the woman is directing the man on the angle at which he's holding the phone.
Yu Chaoxian turned his head to look at her, a smile unconsciously creeping onto his lips. At this moment, they were no different from any other couple bathed in the twilight.
Time seemed to stretch on endlessly, long enough for all past wounds to temporarily heal. Yu Tang was immersed in this free evening, briefly forgetting all the relationships that made her anxious and panicked, as if she were no different from the girls her age next to her who were skateboarding and taking pictures with their friends on the beach.
Yu Tang admired the sunset that brought her inner peace.
The man's voice broke Yu Tang's brief silence: "Do you like it?"
Yu Chaoxian hugged her from behind, pulling her back to reality.
She stiffened slightly, then nodded: "Very beautiful."
“Then let’s buy a villa in Yu’s area as our home in California.”
Yu Tang remained silent. A house and a home are not the same thing.
In the distance, girls were happily taking photos together. Meanwhile, Yu Tang, in Yu Chaoxian's arms, had her face gently turned to him, and they kissed in the last rays of twilight. The man was much taller than the girl, yet the two stood together in a strange harmony. His large hand caressed her waist, while her hand unconsciously gripped his wrist. The girls in the distance noticed this romantic scene, adding a beautiful filter to the image before them, secretly imagining what love should look like.
Yu Chaoxian covered her tightly clenched hand with his fingers, opened it, and the warmth of his body passed through their skin as their fingers intertwined.
"Tangtang, you can go wherever you want. Isn't that the freedom you've been looking for?" Yu Chaoxian looked down at her, his voice gentle and tender. "Is there anything else you want?"
Yu Tang knew she couldn't reason with him. At this moment, her so-called freedom was still under his control. She tried to push his wrist away, but he grabbed it instead.
She tentatively asked, "Can we... go back to Taicheng sooner?" She wanted to go back and see her brother.
Yu Chaoxian was unusually easy to talk to today, showing no displeasure, and agreed to her request.
On the return trip, Yu Tang gazed blankly at the scenery rushing past the car window. The fleeting shadows of trees, streetlights, and billboards seemed like illusions imprisoned on the other side of the glass. She had naively believed that as long as she escaped that villa, she could touch the edge of freedom.
But only now did she realize that freedom was never about geographical distance; Yu Chaoxian was determined to imprint it into every step of her life thereafter.
Yu Tang had no choice but to endure everything Yu Chaoxian gave her. Some people have more patience, some less. However, sooner or later, there would come a time when Yu Tang couldn't bear it anymore. Like a spring, it will eventually bounce back after hitting rock bottom.
Upon learning that she would be flying back to Taicheng the next night, Yu Tang excitedly texted Mo Fei and arranged to go shopping together. Although she knew many classmates at university, the more she knew, the more she realized that only with Mo Fei could she truly be herself, without worrying about others finding her boring or being afraid of saying the wrong thing and offending her classmates.
While packing her luggage in the room, Yu Tang asked Yu Chaoxian in a good mood, "Should you pack your clothes too?"
Yu Chaoxian didn't care, but he liked watching Yu Tang busy herself for him. "You can take care of it."
Is Yu Tang really that happy to be going back to Taicheng? Although Yu Chaoxian was also preparing to return to Taicheng, Yu Tang was being far too happy.
Yu Tang was about to go upstairs when she suddenly remembered something and ran downstairs to bring a cup of coffee to Yu Chaoxian.
"Brother Xian," she called out.
Yu Chaoxian put down the documents in his hand, raised an eyebrow at her, and said, "Say it, what do you want?" Otherwise, Yu Tang wouldn't have called him that.
Yu Tang didn't know when Yu Chaoxian started liking sweet coffee, but as long as he was in a good mood, it meant that her attentiveness was on point.
"When we get back to Taicheng, can I visit my brother at the sanatorium first?" Yu Tang looked at him with her dark eyes.
Yu Chaoxian's expression remained unchanged, but she was impatient inside. How much time had passed, and she was still thinking about Yu Yanting.
“We’re all family,” Yu Chaoxian glanced at her, his tone unreadable. “If your brother and I fell into the water at the same time, who would you save first?”
“That’s impossible.” Yu Tang felt that Yu Chaoxian’s question was a bit unreasonable.
Yu Chaoxian insisted on asking, adding specific details: "Yu Tang, this has happened. Your brother and I are both at risk of drowning. Who do you save first? You can only save one. The one who isn't saved will die immediately."
Yu Tang's lips moved slightly, then closed again. This was a matter that couldn't be treated favorably. Especially since Yu Chaoxian was quite petty.
“I can’t swim,” she said hesitantly, glancing at Chen Diao in the corner. “Then… should I push Brother Chen Diao in too? Brother Chen Diao will definitely be able to save you and your brother.”
Chen Diao had originally lingered to satisfy his gossip, but now he'd dragged himself into it. Yu Chaoxian gave him a cold glance. Chen Diao wisely made an excuse to leave, saying his phone still had 99% battery and needed charging, quickly leaving the two of them alone.
"Have you forgotten how to ask for help again?" Yu Chao finished his coffee first. Last night, she glared at him with those beautiful eyes quite a bit.
Yu Tang, who was kneeling on the sofa, slowly moved her knees toward Yu Chaoxian's position. If she compromised now, she could see her brother when she got back. Compared to that, kissing him wouldn't be a difficult thing.
Yu Chaoxian lazily maintained his original posture, waiting for her to come closer, reservedly refusing to move forward at all, watching her slowly get closer to him with his eyes lowered.
Yu Tang was a little puzzled. Why didn't Yu Chaoxian take the initiative to kiss her this time? She even lowered her neck slightly, but he still didn't press his large hand down on her. Instead, she couldn't bear Yu Chaoxian's gaze, so she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Thinking about how Yu Chaoxian usually kissed her, she cupped his face and kissed him.
The fragrant, soft, and warm touch was brief; just as Yu Tang was about to lift her face, a large, burning hand pressed down on the back of her neck.
The initial, tentative kiss gradually became more passionate and tender.
Yu Chaoxian, aroused by her breath, began to stir in a certain place. His tongue swept into her mouth, deepening the kiss, while his burning palm slipped under her clothes, landing precisely on the curve of her stomach. Yu Tang noticed the unusual outline on her stomach and immediately tried to lift her waist, but her knees were already trapped between the man's legs.
"It hurts..." Yu Tang's eyes started to redden again, and she pinched his shoulder with her fingers.
Yu Chaoxian pinched her chin, before he even went inside her, and asked, "What do you mean? Where does it hurt?"
Yu Tang stopped struggling and simply lay down on him, saying, "It's all your fault for pressing on my leg; it gave me a cramp!"
Yu Chaoxian chuckled and got up to massage her feet. After Yu Tang was done, she kicked him in the face.
"Little aunt, you're really taking advantage of me." Seeing that she still wanted to run away, Yu Chaoxian grabbed her by the waist and carried her on his shoulder. There was nothing to do in the afternoon, and this troublesome girl had eaten her fill, so he decided to go back to her room to do what he needed to do. Anyway, she would have plenty of time to catch up on sleep on the plane that night.
Contrary to Yu Chaoxian's expectations, Yu Chaoxian kept Yu Tang occupied all afternoon. After eating his fill and having been traveling back and forth for the past few days, Yu Chaoxian hadn't had much sleep. On the plane, he was trying to sleep peacefully with her in his arms, but Yu Tang, excited about going home, kept snuggling in his arms and couldn't fall asleep.
"I want to eat mango sticky rice, curry crab, and banana pancakes with Mo Fei. We also want to go shopping and have hot pot together," Yu Tang listed off. "I haven't had the milk tea shop on the corner or the takoyaki stall near the school gate in ages."
"And what else?" Yu Chao was half asleep, half awake, so he hugged the person in his arms who was constantly smacking her lips and kissed her on the crown of her head.
Yu Tang thought for a moment, "I still want to eat that seafood porridge from that restaurant, do you want some?"
He replied lazily, "I'll eat when we get back."
"I don't have any money..." Tang looked up at his jawline, "Could you give me some pocket money?"
After saying that, she gave Yu Chaoxian a sincere kiss on the corner of his mouth.
Yu Chaoxian raised an eyebrow and looked at her with half-open eyes, "What, you want to buy that shop?"
"I didn't need that many."
"Then close your eyes and go to sleep." Yu Chaoxian's voice was lazy and hoarse with sleepiness.
It was so comfortable to be held in his arms; he rarely felt so at ease falling asleep.
Noticing that the person above him was breathing evenly, Yu Tang reached out and waved her hand in front of his closed eyes to see if he was asleep.
Yu Chaoxian grabbed her hand, kissed her palm, and pulled the blanket over her shoulders.
Before long, Yu Tang also drifted off to sleep.
She had a brief dream on the plane. In the dream, there was her brother, her mother's back, Uncle Guan, and Yu Chaoxian as a child. Yu Chaoxian grabbed her by the collar and asked her gloatingly, "Oh, really crying? Cry nicely and I'll give you candy." Enraged, she opened her mouth and bit down hard on his leg, the salty, metallic taste of blood still lingering in her mouth.
Yu Tang woke up before Yu Chaoxian this time. Her dream reminded her that she had indeed bitten Yu Chaoxian when they were little. She had forgotten to check his legs on so many previous occasions.
She gently lifted a corner of his robe and leaned over to take a look, but Yu Chaoxian's legs happened to be pressing down on the robe. Yu Tang tugged at his belt slightly, and without thinking much, casually pushed something aside. The man lying behind her let out a lazy groan, and the next moment her hand was grasped by a large, hot hand.
Yu Tang was pulled back into the blanket. The scalding temperature made her, with her limited experience, immediately realize what was about to happen.
"Little Aunt," Yu Chaoxian's breath was hot, his voice hoarse as he held her hand up and down, "Do you want it?"
"No, no, I didn't mean it..." Yu Tang hurriedly let go, but Yu Chaoxian wouldn't let her have her way.
The moment she moved, he pinned her down.
Yu Chao first bit the back of her neck, and just as he was about to sneak in, Mickey's voice came from the doorway.
The plane is preparing to land.
Yu Chaoxian looked gloomy, while Yu Tang greeted Mickey with a cheerful "Good morning."
Mickey instinctively felt that he had messed up with the boss.
Even though he clearly sees through everything, the eldest brother is obviously unsatisfied.
Chen Diao looked smug. He had received a lot of cold shoulders these past few days for waking up the boss, so he had just encouraged Mickey to remind the boss that the plane was about to land.
Returning to Taicheng after many days, Yu Tang took a deep breath of the familiar air. Yu Chaoxian led her to their usual congee shop, where they sat in their usual spot. After ordering, Yu Tang asked, just like last time, "Can we finish this?"
When it comes to eating, she always underestimates her own abilities.
Yu Tang focused intently on the crab claws on her plate, her eyelashes fluttering gently with each chew. When she found something she liked, her eyes would light up, and she would even ask Yu Chaoxian if he wanted to try some.
Yu Chaoxian smiled, and his aunt asked him if he was hungry.
After dinner, they took Yu Tang to the sanatorium, but Yu Chaoxian didn't intend to go in with her; he was going to the board meeting of Candy Company.
"Can I go play with Mo Fei after I finish watching my brother?" Yu Tang asked hesitantly, using the same excuse she had used to sneak away last time.
Yu Chaoxian remembered what Yu Tang had said during the summer vacation, that she felt uncomfortable having someone playing with her. He took out a card from the car and gave it to her, along with a roll of cash. "Call Mickey in advance if you get tired of playing, and he will pick you up. I'll go back to the Yu residence tonight."
Yu Tang's eyes widened: "You're giving me this much?"
She doesn't actually intend to buy someone else's store.
Moreover, telling her to go back and call Mickey in advance meant that she didn't want anyone following her? Taicheng is Yu Chaoxian's territory, and no one dares to provoke the Yu family in Taicheng, so there is indeed no need for her to be followed and protected.
Yu Tang knew in her heart that the people following her were not only there to protect her, but also to monitor her. But now, judging from Yu Chaoxian's words... she didn't need anyone to monitor her movements anymore?
Yu Chaoxian received another call. He glanced at Yu Tang and said, "No need to postpone. The meeting will start promptly at 1:00."
Yu Tang noticed he was indeed quite busy and stared at him for three seconds. Those three seconds were a tacit understanding between them.
Seeing that he didn't seem to be going to end the call anytime soon, Yu Tang turned around and stepped onto the stairs.
Without warning, Yu Tang, who had reached the steps, suddenly turned around. Yu Chaoxian was still standing there, not leaving.
This time, Yu Tang, standing on high, leaned down and gently enveloped Yu Chaoxian—as their breaths mingled, her gaze involuntarily fell on their lips, which had unexpectedly touched, and she was momentarily stunned.
Yu Chaoxian raised an eyebrow slightly, clearly surprised by the sudden kiss. He tilted his head back to meet her lowered head, his other hand resting lightly on her waist—a seemingly casual yet possessive gesture.
Yu Tang's ear tips instantly turned bright red, and she took a half step back as if she had been burned.
Yu Chaoxian noticed that she was about to back away, so he slowly kissed her again. Then he regained his usual composure, reached out and ruffled Yu Tang's hair, and said, "Go on, go back before I do."
Mickey, who was not far away, witnessed the entire scene. A quick turn and a kiss—even if it was an accident, shouldn't both of them have turned around first?
Mingming casually asked Chen Diao, "Didn't Ajin always do the job of picking up and dropping off Auntie before?"
Chen Diao opened his mouth, then swallowed his words. Sigh, young people, it's inevitable to experience first love, but… the boss is the boss. No matter how special Yu Tang's status is, she's still the boss's woman, their sister-in-law.
