Really cruel

Really cruel

This night didn't relax Wei Mingjue; instead, it made him even more annoyed. He ignored the Alpha, who was walking strangely and had just wiped off some liquid. After sending him away, he immediately lit a cigarette and called Xia Fan on his phone.

"Boss Wei." It wasn't even one in the morning when Xia Fan quickly answered the phone. His voice was a little hoarse, as if he had just woken up. "Do you need someone to pick you up?" Then, there was a rustling sound from the other end, as if someone was getting dressed.

"No need." Wei Mingjue exhaled a wisp of white smoke. He seemed to have long been accustomed to waking up Xia Fan and had no guilt. "I gave Yan Yue a few days off. I'll send someone to check on her. I guess someone will cause trouble for her."

Xia Fan paused, having just put on a coat. "Okay, Mr. Wei," he said, hanging up the phone. His sleepiness had mostly dissipated. He knew Wei Mingjue was so focused on protecting Yan Yue because she might be targeted by those people, but he still felt a bit unhappy. But compared to Zou Yuqing, Yan Yue posed no threat to him at all.

Wei Mingjue also couldn't sleep. He had never felt so irritated before. After sleeping for about four hours, Wei Mingjue simply got up, took a shower, and walked into the police station just as they opened.

He went not to the police station where Huang Yan was currently being held, but to the police station where he was being held. This Alpha had been held there obediently, and when he emerged from the scene, no trace of emotion could be seen on his face. The days following the vicious incident were filled with only endless vicissitudes of life.

There should be a hint of worry on his face, after all, he has a sick wife and young children, but Wei Mingjue looked at Huang Yan in handcuffs across from him for a long time without noticing.

"Do you know Officer Zhang from the Weimin Street Police Station?" Wei Mingjue stared at Huang Yan, trying to find out something from the man's expression.

But Huang Yan just shook his head slightly and said, "I don't know him."

"Who else did you give that batch of inhibitors with opiates and diacetylmorphine to besides him?" Wei Mingjue sneered inwardly. If he didn't know, he could only find out through conversation.

As expected, Huang Yan's brows furrowed slightly, and there was a hint of surprise in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it. In the end, he chose to remain silent.

Look, it's him. Wei Mingjue clenched his fists, then thought of Zou Yuqing, who was suffering because of this batch of inhibitors. He gritted his teeth and said, "Why give it to Zou Yuqing alone? Who ordered you to do that?" No one around him had ever suffered this kind of thing because of him. Zou Yuqing was the first.

Perhaps it was because the people around him were violent enough that no one dared to touch him. But Zou Yuqing was different. He was an ordinary person. Even though he was an Alpha and had a bad temper, he was powerless to resist these legal thugs.

The silence of the person opposite him made Wei Mingjue even more angry. The moment he slammed the table and stood up, the police came over and signaled him to control his emotions. Due to time constraints, they took Huang Yan away.

Huang Yan remained silent and didn't even look at him.

"Fuck." After walking out of the police station, Wei Mingjue got into the car and took out another cigarette. Just as he was about to light it up and drive towards Weimin Street as usual, he suddenly reacted and slammed on the brakes.

I won't go to Zou Yuqing's place these days. Thinking of this, he drove to the company.

*

On the fifth day when Wei Mingjue did not show up, Zou Yuqing gave up waiting, packed up his things and went back to work.

His glands had recovered well, and he could barely smell the vodka pheromones. He put on a suppressant patch and sat on the bus looking out the window.

He spent these days in self-doubt. Although he was very sleepy at night, his mind was unusually clear, or it could be said that he was clearly aware of his own heart.

He could not refute Wei Mingjue's words, nor could he ignore his desire for Wei Mingjue to come visit him with some food these days, even though Wei Mingjue's attitude might suddenly change 180 degrees and they would quarrel again.

Unfortunately, Wei Mingjue told him through his actions that it was impossible for them.

Turning back and closing his eyes, Zou Yuqing sighed inwardly. He laughed at himself, thinking that he hadn't wanted anything to do with that person in the beginning, but now it was different.

Things like feelings are indeed unpredictable.

The commute to work on Monday was a bit congested. After arriving at the company on time, Mu Yun immediately came to greet her, "Qingqing, you're finally here. I missed you so much!"

Smiling, Zou Yuqing said, "I'm here now, and you, are you feeling better?"

"Of course! He was already fully recovered when I sent you the message. So, how are your brother's wedding preparations going? Oh my god, it should be fantastic, after all, he's marrying President Wei's brother! Hey, Qing, your glands..." Mu Yun said excitedly, and suddenly saw Zou Yuqing's glands with suppression patches on them. "Are you susceptible to the disease? Probably not. You can't be preparing for the venue during your susceptible period."

"Well……"

"Is it because there are so many Alphas and Omegas at the venue? Actually, large-scale events like this can be quite torturous sometimes. The pheromones can suddenly mix together for no apparent reason, making it incredibly uncomfortable. I understand."

While Zou Yuqing was still thinking about how to find an excuse to explain, Mu Yun had already found one for him.

"Yeah, I've been affected by too many pheromones recently. It would be better to apply an inhibitor." Echoing Mu Yun's words, Zou Yuqing nodded and smiled awkwardly.

"Yeah, tsk, I really want to go and see the scene. By the way, President Wei's younger brother just came of age not long ago, and he's already married? It seems that your brother really is in love." Changing the subject, Mu Yun began to gossip again, "Qing, you have to catch up quickly! But are you still in school? I almost forgot that you are an intern. You will be a senior when school starts, right? By then, there will be a lot of things to do, will you still come to our place?"

Zou Yuqing saw the glint in Mu Yun's eyes, and it seemed he didn't want him to leave. He chuckled, "We'll see. I'll definitely be here this year. I'll come over when I don't have classes after school starts."

"Okay! Then please send me the class schedule when the time comes, so that I will have something to look forward to and see when you will come." Mu Yun smiled happily, and Zou Yuqing also showed a gentle smile until he saw Wei Mingjue walking past the door.

Didn't you see him? Zou Yuqing pursed her lips and watched Wei Mingjue's back disappear at the entrance of the building.

Maybe she saw him and didn't want to say hello, Zou Yuqing thought. She used to come in and act like a bitch before leaving, but now she's so dismissive. Could it be that she's really figured out his feelings and is rejecting him?

Really cruel. Zou Yuqing lowered his eyes, feeling a little lost.

"Qing? Qing? What's wrong with you? Don't you want to give me the class schedule?" Mu Yun looked at Zou Yuqing, who suddenly seemed dazed, in confusion and called out several times.

"Ah? No, I will send it to you when the time comes." Zou Yuqing said embarrassedly after coming back to his senses.

"Hahaha, I'm just kidding! Okay, okay, it's time to get back to work!" After saying that, Mu Yun returned to his workstation, and Zou Yuqing also turned on the computer and prepared to start working.

But looking at the screen, he felt like a clown. No, he had always been a clown.
