That's it

That's it

The current situation was something Zou Yuqing had never imagined. He had thought he had made it clear enough that Wei Mingjue would never come to him again, and he had also prepared himself to spend his whole life forgetting that night. But Wei Mingjue had appeared again, and now he was even sitting on the sofa in his house, looking around.

"Is your mother still asleep?" Wei Mingjue scanned the small house in a few glances. It had two bedrooms and a living room, probably less than 50 square meters. Because it was old, the wallpaper was almost peeling. In short, it was no bigger than his bathroom.

Zou Yuqing frowned slightly and walked to the outside of his mother's room to take a look. She was still lying on the bed motionless, as if she was tired after the commotion at noon and was sleeping soundly.

He walked into the living room again and looked at Wei Mingjue, saying expressionlessly, "There's only noodles at home. If you don't want to eat, leave now."

"Eat, go and cook quickly, don't you have to go back to the supermarket soon?" Wei Mingjue raised his eyebrows and saw Zou Yuqing walked into the kitchen with pursed lips and said nothing, took out a pot with a burnt bottom from the cupboard, filled it with water and started the fire.

The kitchen faced the living room, with no door separating them. Wei Mingjue stared at Zou Yuqing's somewhat stiff back, his lips curled up. Zou Yuqing was a sturdy man, standing at 1.83 meters tall. Although he was still a bit short compared to his 1.92 meters, it was undeniable that the Alpha before him must be very popular outside.

Zou Yuqing was completely different from his timid brother. He was an Alpha at first glance, with his toned muscles and buzz cut, a truly tough guy. His eyes were filled with a resolute and unyielding energy that he could never forget. Wei Mingjue licked his lips, watching the figure become busier. He couldn't help but stand up and quietly walk over.

He hadn't even smelled the refreshing mint scent yet, because he saw Zou Yuqing had put on the inhibitory patch again. The spot he'd bitten a few days ago was no longer bleeding, showing a significant recovery. It truly was an Alpha's body. Wei Mingjue narrowed his eyes and reached for the annoying inhibitory patch.

Zou Yuqing was nearly going crazy. He felt a gaze watching him from behind, making his entire body crawl. Being targeted by an Alpha wasn't a good thing, let alone one he'd already been assaulted by. He didn't understand why Wei Mingjue acted like nothing had happened, but then again, he was the one who was always hurt.

He had just cracked an egg when he suddenly felt a chill, and then his suppression patch was lifted.

"What are you doing?" Zou Yuqing turned around suddenly and saw Wei Mingjue looking at him with a smile on his face. He clenched the suppression patch in his hand and threw it into the trash can.

"Your injury hasn't healed yet. The doctor said it's best not to apply the patch. It's not good to keep it stuffy." After saying that, Wei Mingjue took a breath and finally smelled the lingering mint scent, mixed with his vodka, which smelled even better.

Normally, since they were both Alphas, their pheromones were offensive. Previously, he'd never let his one-night stand release pheromones, letting them hold it in while he devoured them, watching the Alphas' expressions of both pain and pleasure. But with Zou Yuqing, he wanted him to release more, more.

Wei Mingjue thought about it and moved closer to Zou Yuqing's neck, but Zou Yuqing covered his gland with his hand, with a half-hidden look of fear and confusion on his face, "I'm an Alpha."

"I know you're an Alpha. Don't back off, or you'll be in trouble." Wei Mingjue looked at Zou Yuqing's actions with amusement, then took a half step back. "Step forward."

Zou Yuqing, of course, wouldn't approach Wei Mingjue. He said, "You go out first, the noodles will be ready soon," then turned around, gripped the pot handle with a tablecloth, straightened it, and began to scoop out the noodles. Wei Mingjue smiled, shrugged, and sat back on the sofa. Then, three bowls of egg noodles were brought to the table.

"Is this what you eat?" Wei Mingjue looked at the watery egg noodles in front of him with some surprise. The bowl used to serve the noodles made him mistakenly think that he was still in the old times.

"Didn't I tell you there are only noodles? If you don't want to eat, just leave." Zou Yuqing ignored the person in front of him, and started eating the noodles while standing. He had to continue working soon and had no time to waste with Wei Mingjue.

"Eat." Wei Mingjue was stunned for a moment and picked up the wooden chopsticks on the table. "Why don't you sit down and eat? Sit next to me." He looked at Zou Yuqing again and patted the seat next to him.

"You probably don't want me to go over and pull you over." Seeing that Zou Yuqing didn't move, Wei Mingjue continued.

Zou Yuqing finally responded. He paused, then walked to the edge of the sofa and sat down, quite far away from Wei Mingjue. Wei Mingjue smiled indifferently and leaned over to Zou Yuqing. "Your mother hasn't gotten up yet. If I cook it first, won't it get rotten?"

As expected, Zou Yuqing ignored him. He continued to talk to himself, "Why do you always help your brother? Does he give you money? How much did he give you this time?"

Money… If it weren't for money, he wouldn't have to suffer so much. Zou Yuqing tightened his grip on his chopsticks and finished his noodles in three or five bites. "He's not my brother. I have nothing to do with the Zou family."

"Oh, isn't it that your brother is helping him? Wouldn't that make him feel even more wronged?" Wei Mingjue said as he took a sip of noodles. It tasted very ordinary, but with a hint of mint. He immediately took a second bite.

"You should have investigated everything, why are you asking me?" Zou Yuqing glanced at Wei Mingjue. This man clearly knew everything about him, yet he was mocking him. Wasn't that funny? His family was already complicated, his life a mess, and now he was becoming a laughing stock.

"You must really hate Zou Yushen, right? He..." Wei Mingjue wanted to continue, but Zou Yuqing suddenly rushed over and covered his mouth. His hands, freshly cooked noodles, weren't greasy at all, but instead had a faint, soapy scent. His eyes widened as he stared at Zou Yuqing, who was so close to him, and his heart inexplicably skipped a beat. This usually calm Alpha suddenly panicked, and then he understood why Zou Yuqing had that expression.

There was a sudden movement in the bedroom, and a faint cry was heard, calling "Yu Shen ah..." over and over again. Soon, Xu Jie ran out barefoot, with messy hair, and her originally dull eyes now brightened up a little.

"Qingqing, is your father here?" She came to the living room and grabbed Zou Yuqing's arm and asked anxiously. As she asked, she looked around and saw Wei Mingjue sitting on the sofa. She suddenly stepped back, "No, this is not your father. Yu Shen, where are you? I know you came to see me."

Xu Jie let go of Zou Yuqing's hand and prepared to run to the door, but Zou Yuqing grabbed her and said, "Mom, he's not here yet. Put your shoes on quickly."

"He's here! Why don't you let me see him? He's your father!" Unexpectedly, Xu Jie suddenly became agitated and slapped Zou Yuqing in the face, "Why don't you let me see your father!"

Zou Yuqing was stunned. Wei Mingjue rushed over and grabbed Xu Jie's hand as she was about to wave it down. He frowned and looked at Zou Yuqing, "Are you okay?"

This was the second time he was hit today. Zou Yuqing felt a little sour in his nose, but he still endured it and shook his head. "It's okay, let me go. Leave after you finish eating and don't come again." His voice was very flat. He was used to all of this. He had experienced an emotionally chaotic mother and a fucked-up life for several years in his life.

"Let's go." Zou Yuqing felt very tired. He lowered his head and listened to his mother's shrill screams and cries, his heart in turmoil. However, the next second, Xu Jie fell silent and collapsed in Wei Mingjue's arms, as if she had fainted. "What did you do? What happened to my mother?" He looked at Wei Mingjue with wide eyes.

"Just let her sleep for a while." Wei Mingjue still had a smile on his face. After that, he picked up Xu Jie and carried her into the room and walked out. "Don't worry, I don't think she will remember anything when she wakes up. I'll leave first."

"That's it."

This was the last sentence Wei Mingjue heard before he closed the door. He smiled, the fragrance of egg noodles lingering on his lips, and the mint flavor seemed to still be in his nostrils.

Is that all? That's impossible.
