Taohong was so angry that tears came out. "Mrs. Zhang is so bold! This is the Madam's residence. How dare she, a concubine, touch the Madam's place!"
Nanny Yan stepped forward to support Ji Yunhuan and said softly, "The dead cannot be resurrected. Your Majesty, please accept my condolences. Please take care of yourself and put yourself first. Only when you are well can Madam Ji, who is in the afterlife, rest in peace."
"The Empress Dowager has instructed me to do whatever she wants without any reservations."
Ji Yunhuan relaxed for a while and subconsciously touched her belly.
The child seemed to sense her grief and was silently comforting her. It was a mysterious feeling of blood connection that let her know that she was not alone.
Ji Yunhuan calmed himself down, walked through the hanging flower gate, and saw a busy scene in the yard.
Maids and old women came in and out, moving out the porcelain, calligraphy and paintings and replacing them with more luxurious ornaments.
The screen with plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum had been thrown out of the door and replaced with a gorgeous screen with a picture of a beauty, with a man and a woman entangled together, which was disgusting to look at.
The gardener was cutting down the Xiangfei bamboo in the yard, and most of the flowers and plants that my mother had planted during her lifetime had also been pulled out. The dark soil was turned over, and fallen petals were all over the ground, crushed into the dust and mud.
Ji Yunhuan clenched his fists, swept his sharp gaze over the crowd, and shouted angrily, "Stop! Who gave you the courage to touch my mother's belongings! Get out of here!"
Everyone subconsciously stopped, and a steward nanny in a purple jacket came out, her hands on her hips, and shouted:
"What are you all standing there for? Madam has instructed us to throw these eyesores out today. If you're delaying Madam's business, watch out for yourselves!"
The yard became busy again. Nanny Liu snorted coldly and looked at Ji Yunhuan with pride.
"Oh, isn't this our eldest daughter? Who told you to sneak out of the nunnery? I'll go report to the lady right away and ask her to send you back!"
Ji Yunhuan sneered, "I didn't know there was a second wife in this mansion! Zhang Rou is so arrogant before she's even been appointed as the legitimate wife, and she even dares to occupy my mother's yard. Excellent! Really excellent!"
Ji Yunhuan was only accompanied by Tao Hong and Nanny Yan. The guards were not allowed to enter the inner courtyard, so they were left outside.
Madam Liu is Aunt Zhang's confidante. She is used to abusing her power in the mansion and is not afraid of a young lady who has fallen out of favor at all.
She deliberately squeezed past Ji Yunhuan, and her fat body bumped into Ji Yunhuan intentionally or unintentionally.
"Get out of the way! A good dog doesn't block the road, you know?"
Taohong protected the young lady and was hit on the shoulder. The old woman was very strong and her arm was probably bruised.
"How dare you! If you hurt the young lady, you wouldn't dare chop off your head even if you had ten. Do you know that the young lady is now..."
"Taohong, let her out!" Ji Yunhuan interrupted Taohong.
Taohong covered her mouth, still feeling frightened. This old woman was so irritating that she almost let the cat out of the bag.
Nanny Yan looked at Taohong disapprovingly. This little girl was so careless with her words that she really needed to be disciplined.
Taohong knew she was in the wrong and dared not say anything.
Nanny Liu thought that Ji Yunhuan was afraid of her, and she became even more proud. She hummed a tune as she walked out of the Chuihua Gate. There were actually two men in armor standing on the corridor, and they were full of murderous aura.
"Are you the new guards? You look strange, but you've come just in time, so I don't have to go to the front yard to look for someone. You two, drag the young lady out. If you do it well, the madam will reward you handsomely!"
The two guards looked at each other and approached Liu Ma from the left and right.
Nanny Liu, unaware of the danger she was about to face, said shamelessly, "You are sensible. Come with me. The young lady is no longer clean, so there is no need to worry about the strict rules between men and women. It will save you a lot of trouble."
With a loud "bang", Guard A kicked Madam Liu away. Her fat body flew across the corridor and hit the wall of Xiuzhu Garden.
A small hole was smashed into the courtyard wall. Madam Liu screamed and spat out a mouthful of blood. Her body twisted twice and then she became motionless.
Guard B drew the long sword from his waist, ready to kill this evil servant who was disrespectful to the empress!
Guard A stopped him and said, "The Queen has not given the order. We can't ruin the Queen's plan. Wake her up and hand her over to the Queen for punishment."
"Pa pa pa!!!" Guard B slapped Ma Liu several times and finally woke her up.
The two men escorted Madam Liu to her knees, clasping her hands together and asking for instructions from the inside of the hanging flower gate:
"Reporting to the young lady, this cunning slave has been apprehended. Please advise me on how to deal with him."
Ji Yunhuan didn't want to see blood in his mother's Xiuzhuyuan, but now he had to use thunder tactics.
"Bring him in! Let everyone see what happens to a slave who bullies his master!"
The housekeeper's face was covered in blood and swollen like a pig's head. She was kneeling on the ground, dying, and didn't even have the strength to scream.
Ji Yunhuan was sitting in the yard. The servants who had just looked down on her were all standing obediently with their hands hanging down, not daring to breathe.
More guards poured into the yard, and many important housekeepers and maids were brought in. Each of them was like a quail, not even daring to look up at Ji Yunhuan.
They never dreamed that the eldest lady would come back, and not only that, she brought so many helpers with her. No one dared to joke with their own life, so naturally, whatever the eldest lady said was the truth.
A hunchbacked old woman walked in slowly. She was wearing a gray jacket worn by a low-ranking maid. As soon as she saw Ji Yunhuan, she knelt down and started crying without saying a word.
Taohong immediately stepped forward and helped the person up, "Mother Xu, you have suffered."
