Shi Jing's injury wasn't serious, but it had been almost a week since it started to heal, and the wound had scabbed over. He could walk without much difficulty anymore.
Once she recovered, she started thinking about presenting the banner to the rescue team. Of course, presenting only a banner wasn't enough; Jing did some research and learned that the rescue team was a purely non-profit, civilian organization. Their main sources of income included government or other institutional grants, donations from businesses and other organizations. The team itself didn't pay salaries, and its members all had regular jobs; equipment and other expenses were the members' own responsibility.
Shi Jing had never encountered this type of organization before, but after reading the introduction on the website, she felt that they were a very remarkable group of people. Although her own foundation also does charity work, there are actually many differences in their approaches.
However, since they are such a group of people, it would be appropriate for her to donate some supplies as a token of gratitude, right?
Shi Jing didn't know much about rescue equipment, so she specifically consulted the system. The system gave her some suggestions, which she then added and subtracted herself, and finally decided to purchase a batch of professional rescue equipment such as explosion-proof helmets, breathing masks, and safety rope locks.
She bought a lot of items and arranged a delivery time and place directly with the seller. She knew nothing about these items herself, so the rescue team members had to inspect them themselves.
Fortunately, the address of the rescue team's training base was not difficult to find, and Shi Jing sent the address directly to the store.
Time flew by and it was the weekend again. Shi Jing ate breakfast early in the morning, then went to the dessert shop to pick up the desserts and drinks she had ordered in advance. She carried the bags and drove straight to her destination.
Before she arrived, the phone rang. Shi Jing was a little surprised because it was an unfamiliar number. But when she answered, she found out that the truck delivering supplies had already arrived.
"So fast? Didn't we agree to meet at nine o'clock?" Shi Jing checked the time; it was only a little past eight.
"Ms. Shi, traffic is usually congested in the morning, so we left a little early. Who should we contact to pick up the goods?" The delivery driver on the other end of the phone explained the situation and then inquired about picking up the goods.
Shi Jing hasn't arrived yet, so how is she supposed to know who to ask to receive the goods?
She glanced at the navigation; luckily, she had left early, and it would probably take another twenty minutes to get there.
"Please find a place to park and wait for me. I'll be there in about twenty minutes."
"Okay." The other party knew they had arrived early, and readily agreed to Shi Jing's arrangements.
Shi Jing wasn't far from the training base, and since she left early, the road wasn't too congested, and she arrived in just over twenty minutes.
After finding a parking space, Shi Jing met the truck driver. She first gave the driver two portions of food, then turned around and walked into the training base empty-handed.
The rescue team's training base was in a large courtyard. The main gate was half open, and there were no guards. Shi Jing walked in through a small gate.
She wanted to see if anyone could ask her about the situation, but as soon as she entered, she saw a group of team members in training uniforms training under the team leader's command on the huge training field.
Shi Jing entered the room quietly and didn't attract anyone's attention until she walked a little further in, at which point a middle-aged man facing the entrance noticed her.
This person looks like a coach from the training base. He's at the front of the group, with a whistle around his neck and a stopwatch in his hand.
When Shi Jing saw that the other person had noticed him, he waved and greeted them generously.
The other person looked at her with a slight confusion, then gave an order for the team members to act on their own, while he put away his stopwatch and walked towards the time mirror.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
"Hello, my name is Shi Jing. I encountered danger a few days ago and needed your help. I've come here today to thank you." Shi Jing first gave a brief introduction.
"You're welcome." The coach, who wasn't much of a talker, replied curtly, "It's what we should do."
That being said, Shi Jing was not naive enough to think that other people's contributions were simply a matter of course.
Without further ado, she continued, "As a token of my gratitude, I've purchased some supplies that might be useful for training. The supply truck is waiting outside; I might need you to inspect the goods."
"What?" The coach was somewhat surprised.
As he was still wondering, another person walked over and asked, "Old Zhang, what's going on?"
The man who came was a bit older than Coach Zhang, with dark skin, but rather thin and short.
Coach Zhang turned around when he heard the sound, and when he saw the person, he quickly said, "Head Coach Ge, something's wrong with this girl."
Ge Tou was completely confused, but he walked at a steady pace and soon arrived in front of Shi Jing and the others.
"Little girl, is there anything I can help you with?"
Seeing that Coach Zhang only left behind a vague statement, Shi Jing had no choice but to repeat what he had just said.
"Training supplies?" Ge Tou was also somewhat surprised.
They have been engaged in public welfare rescue for many years and have naturally received a lot of gratitude from the people they have helped, but the most common gifts are banners and snacks. This is the first time someone has brought so-called training supplies directly.
Seeing his shocked expression and not having arranged for anyone to inspect and receive the goods, Shi Jing could only remind him again: "Boss Ge, the truck driver is waiting outside. See who is available to inspect the goods so I can ask someone to unload them."
The items had already arrived at the door, so it wasn't good to delay any longer. Ge Tou then sent two people out to take a look, one of whom was the stern-faced Coach Zhang.
Shi Jing followed them out, and Ge Tou called someone over and said a few words before quickly following them.
A large truck was parked not far from the door. The two truck drivers were eating when they saw Shi Jing finally come out with his people. They immediately put down their food and got out of the truck to greet him.
"Ms. Shi, can we unload the goods now?"
"Yes, could you please move the car closer to the main gate? I need someone to check on my things first."
This was something Shi Jing had arranged beforehand, so the driver didn't say anything and quickly drove the car to the gate, with the car facing the gate.
After parking the truck, the driver opened the cargo door, revealing that the open cargo compartment was almost entirely filled with boxes of supplies.
"Most of these items were recommended by the shop owners. Please take a look and see if they suit you. If not, you can exchange them at any time," Shi Jing explained briefly.
After much searching, Shi Jing finally found a professional rescue equipment manufacturer and purchased this large batch of items. She found a reliable person and didn't skimp on the purchase; these items cost her several hundred thousand yuan, so they shouldn't be a problem.
Of course, it was impossible to unpack and inspect everything at this point. Shi Jing showed them a few boxes and then began arranging for the driver to unload the goods. There was quite a lot of stuff on one side, so Ge Tou had to call a few more people to help move the goods.
As they got to work, the training in the yard was put on hold. At that moment, Shi Jing called two more people to help her carry down all the food she had bought.
