Who is Wang Anshi?
A famous politician, thinker, writer and reformer of the Great Zhou Dynasty, he was later known as Banshan and was granted the title of Duke of Jing.
A book titled "A Letter to the Emperor of Zhou" started his road to reform and extended the life of Zhou for ten years. In the end, the reform failed and he resigned and returned home.
Fang Yinnian still remembers that in a hit drama in later generations called "The Wind Rises in Yunzhou", Wang Anshi, as the second male lead, had a love-hate relationship with Empress Zhaowu, which earned many tears from the audience.
Fang Yinnian glanced at Jiefu in a very subtle way. He had to admit that he was indeed very elegant, but! He was really so tacky!
Wang Anshi, a famous official, actually had fleas in his hair!
Fang Yinnian screamed like a groundhog in his heart.
Help! He saw fleas jumping on Wang Anshi’s hair!
Fang Yinnian silently took a step back, moving away from Wang Anshi.
Wang Anshi raised his eyebrows. The other party's behavior was not very harmful but extremely insulting.
Just as he was about to say something back, he was stopped by Wei Xiaozhi.
Wei Xiaozhi said softly, "Lord Fang is in charge of the glass business and the military workshop."
Both of these departments can be regarded as the core departments of Yunzhou, which shows how much Mr. Fang is valued by Duke Yun.
Wang Anshi snorted coldly and turned away.
Zeng Gong couldn't help laughing.
Everyone pretended not to notice Fang Yinnian's disgust, and under the arrangement of Aunt Geng, they went into the yard together and gathered around the stove to make tea.
Fang Yinnian chose a seat farthest away from Wang Anshi, definitely not because he disliked him, but because he would cause trouble for Duke Yun in the future!
Wang Anshi's temples throbbed. Damn it! He was so angry. What did Duke Yun see in Mr. Fang?
The atmosphere in the room was weird and funny.
Aunt Geng calmly processed the lease for Wang Anshi and Zeng Gong and said, "Just hand in one copy to the government. If you trust me, I will do it and you don't have to make another trip."
"Of course I trust you. Thank you for your help!"
Aunt Geng looked at Fang Yinnian and Chen Yixuan again: "My two gentlemen, are you here to see me?"
For Chen Yixuan, anyone with whom he had a conversation of more than three sentences was an acquaintance.
Chen Yixuan explained: "We are here to see Wei Langjun."
Chen Yixuan wanted to follow his father into business, so he went to Fang Yinnian to consult about Liuli and protective weapons.
As the two were talking, Chen Yixuan mentioned that Wei Xiaozhi was also in Yunzhou.
Fang Yinnian was very interested in Wei Xiaozhi, so the two of them came to visit together.
The room was full of young people, drinking tea, writing poetry, and chatting. Within an hour, everyone became familiar with each other.
It was not until Fang Yinnian's stomach began to growl that everyone realized that it was already dark and that he was hungry.
Wei Xiaozhi looked embarrassed. According to etiquette, he should entertain the guests for dinner, but there were no servants at home and he didn't know how to cook!
"How about we go to a restaurant?" Fang Yinnian suggested cautiously.
"Good! How about the Eight Immortals Tower?"
"It's good, but the price is too expensive. Let's go to another place."
"A new Juchunlou has opened in Yunzhou. I heard the owner is from Jiangnan."
Wei Xiaozhi: "Huh? Is it the same as the Juchun Tower in Kyoto?"
Yue Ping: "It's different. It follows the style of a teahouse, very elegant. There are no prostitutes in Yunzhou, only geishas."
Fang Yinnian just wanted to eat quickly. His stomach was almost empty. "Then let's go to Juchunlou! It's my treat!"
Juchun Tower is right next to the Baxian Tower, as if they are going to have a serious contest.
The Eight Immortals Building is decorated magnificently and looks extremely festive, especially when it is close to a festival, and the seats are always packed.
Juchun Tower is all about elegance, with screen walls and folding screens used as partitions, combining scenery with nature, and faint sounds of musical instruments and harps can be heard.
Between the Eight Immortals Tower and the Juchun Tower, a group of people were gathered in three layers inside and outside.
"Please have mercy on me, my dear. I only need twenty taels to help me settle my father down. I am willing to work like a slave for you!"
The woman's voice was like a hook, tickling people's hearts.
There was a trace of compassion in Wang Anshi's eyes. On his way from his home to Kyoto, he had seen all kinds of tragic stories of selling children, daughters and wives, one after another.
well.
Wang Anshi squeezed his purse and squeezed into the crowd.
I saw a girl in mourning clothes kneeling on the snow. Her thin figure was so pitiful that it seemed as if she was about to fly away with the snowflakes.
The girl had delicate features and slender fingers. She tightly grasped the hem of a man's clothes, with a look of earnest pleading on her face.
The corners of her eyes were red and tears were welling up in her eye sockets. She looked so pitiful that people wanted to donate money to her immediately to relieve her sorrow.
"Hey, Sujiro!"
"Fourth brother."
Fang Yinnian and Chen Yixuan squeezed in and recognized at a glance that the person being grabbed by the girl was Su Yunting.
The crowd of onlookers chattered.
Some people from other places couldn't bear it and advised: "Saving a life is worse than building a seven-story pagoda. My dear, why don't you be kind and buy her? Even if you don't want to be a beautiful woman, you can even let her be a foot-washing maid."
The girl looked miserable, the hemp rope tied around her waist so tight that it was as wide as a palm.
Su Yunting looked down at her, and did not use his finger to lift the girl's chin like in the storybook: "Where did you come from?"
The girl sniffed, lowered her head, and revealed her swan-like neck: "Yongzhou."
Su Yunting nodded secretly. Judging from the accent, it did sound like someone from Yongzhou.
"What's going on between you and your dad?"
Girl: "My father wanted to come to Yunzhou to find some work, but he caught a cold and became seriously ill. This morning, I cooked some rice porridge, but he...he..."
The girl sobbed quietly.
Su Yunting was unmoved and continued to ask: "Since you have caught a cold, why don't you go to medical school?"
The girl's expression froze. What the hell! A beautiful woman threw herself at him, why didn't he accept her?! What are you asking?!
The girl thought for a moment and said, "I've been there, and the doctor prescribed some medicine."
Su Yunting was surprised and asked, "You mean to say that the medicine prescribed by the medical school didn't cure your father's cold?"
Onlookers: "No way, their medicine is very effective, no more than three doses, guaranteed to work!"
The girl wanted to wipe her sweat and racked her brains: "The doctor prescribed medicine and we came back. We can't afford the medicine."
Su Yunting pretended to be angry: "Oh?! This is a matter of life and death. The medical school has a rule that in case of emergency, you can use the medicine first and then charge! Who is the doctor who treated you? How could he be so irresponsible? The family should be informed of this matter!"
The girl covered her face and cried, "I, I was too panicked at the time, I don't remember."
Su Yunting softened his tone and soothed him, "It's okay, just tell me your father's name. The medical school has medical records. As long as you know the name and age, you can find the doctor."
He has never seen a doctor. The body was bought. Where is the medical record?
The girl sobbed and cried, "It's time, it's fate. I'm just miserable, how can I bring trouble to the doctor?"
Su Yunting said, "No slaves are allowed in Yunzhou, even if they sell themselves. You can use your photo ID to get a loan from Baitong Bank. You don't need 20 taels to hold a funeral, and only 300 coins for a simple burial."
The girl's face became more and more ugly!
Su Yunting also gave a firm admonition: "Sister, money is hard to earn, spend it sparingly!" (End of this chapter)
