Chapter 369 Old Yun, I Have a Pet Now

Everyone knew that He Wan had a voice among the brigade leader. Look at the difference; this young girl had only been here a short time, but she had already brought many benefits to the village, such as a tofu shop and medicine.

There was also the educated youth settlement, and everyone agreed that He Wan single-handedly revitalized the settlement.

So Xue Zhenzhen felt much relieved after hearing this.

After walking for more than an hour, the group was tired and decided to rest for a while on the stone bridge pier at the crossroads ahead before continuing.

I had barely sat down when I heard a kitten meowing.

Su Ranran didn't go to look, but just sighed and said, "Judging from the sound, this kitten probably won't live much longer."

He Wan was surprised and asked, "Why?"

Xue Zhenzhen, who was standing next to her, took out the glutinous rice strips she had just bought and took a bite: "Why else? Look at the temperature here. In two days, it will definitely snow. Most of the cats here can't withstand the weather and die in winter."

Zhang Cuicao also took out her glutinous rice strips and ate them, then said, "Indeed, but the ones in the village are better. Some will run to farmers' houses to hide, and some will go directly into the woodpile."

As he spoke, he looked down from the bridge to see where the shouting was coming from.

If this had happened before, He Wan would probably have just sighed like the other three, without taking any action.

But after holding Old Yun's cub, she felt a little soft-hearted towards small animals and put down the basket on her back, saying, "I'll go down and take a look."

There was no water under the bridge, only dry weeds. After He Wan went down, she saw a calico cat lying there motionless, with a small calico cat next to it.

Its face was black on one side and yellowish-white on the other, and its body was covered in flowers. It was skinny and frail. If left unattended, it definitely wouldn't live more than two days.

Xue Zhenzhen leaned over and asked, "How is it? Don't give it glutinous rice strips, it can't eat them."

"It's a kitten, and its mother... is probably dead."

Su Ranran sighed and said, "I knew it, sigh, animals these days are pitiful too."

He Wan squatted down and touched the female cat; it was already erect.

The kitten hissed at her warily while giving her a disapproving look, appearing rather pitiful.

He Wan put on gloves, grabbed its neck, and carried it onto the bridge.

Looking at the tiny cat, Zhang Cuicao and the others said, "It should be more than a month old."

Su Ranran said, "It's been calling out, it's probably hungry."

Seeing that He Wan was still holding it, Xue Zhenzhen said, "You don't mean to take it back with you, do you?"

He Wan nodded: "Well, anyway, there's nothing to do in winter. You all went home one by one, leaving me here, which is kind of boring."

Zhang Cuicao said, "But you don't have much food to begin with, how are you going to feed it?"

"How much can a cat eat? Besides, it catches mice, so all I need to do is provide it with a warm bed."

Su Ranran thought she was right; cats don't need much feeding, they catch mice on their own.

He Wan put it in her basket and walked quickly from there, because she couldn't wait to share her pet with Lao Yun.

So after returning to the educated youth settlement, he immediately took the kitten and slipped into the space.

Fearing that Sister Han might be there, he used his cell phone to call Lao Yun: "Lao Yun, Lao Yun."

"I'm on the first floor."

"Come and see, I have a pet now."
