Chapter 491 Bai Muyin's Help

"Everything is here: 3,000 catties of rice, 5,000 catties of cornmeal, 3,000 catties of wheat flour, 2,000 catties of fruit, and two pigs."

"Okay, here's the money, you can count it."

He Wan looked at the bag of money, rummaged through it a few times, and then put it on her bicycle: "I'm leaving now."

"Brother He, could you bring in another batch soon? The city needs them too."

"I'll be going to the city in two weeks. I'll contact Brother Song in advance."

"Okay."

After separating from Song Lao Er, He Wan rode her bicycle straight to the educated youth office to meet up with the others.

Today is the day of the cultural performance.

...

In the afternoon, Bai Muyin drove to Nanshan.

Sister Han wasn't here today, and after Bai Muyin went to the refrigerator, He Wan didn't come out for a long time.

I frowned and knocked on the refrigerator door, but there was no response.

Helpless, he could only wait at home.

He waited until evening, knowing that He Wan would come over after work during the day.

The crucial point is that her kitten didn't appear in basement level either.

I ordered takeout for myself and was just about to have dinner when I heard noises coming from the basement.

She put down her chopsticks, slowly walked down the stairs, and stood by the stairs without wandering around. She called out, "Is that He Wan?"

He Wan was carrying Hua Hua upstairs when she was startled by Bai Muyin's voice. It wasn't a shock, but a pleasant surprise. The moment she saw Bai Muyin, He Wan almost gave him a hug: "Mr. Bai, that's great! I thought I had to wait for Lao Yun to come back from filming."

Bai Muyin's brows twitched slightly before he walked inside and asked, "Shushu said she couldn't contact you for several days and asked me to come and check on you. I've been waiting for you here all afternoon. Can't you sense what's happening outside? Can't I?"

“I sensed it. I’ve been with the main group since this afternoon and haven’t had a chance to come in at all. I just came back from the county. Today is the day we’re selected to participate in the arts performance. I came in as soon as I got back.”

Bai Muyin nodded, pointed to the first floor, and told her to follow. He then asked, "How was the performance?"

He Wan smiled and said smugly, "First place, do you believe it?"

Bai Muyin smiled and nodded in agreement: "That's right, congratulations. Has something happened to you recently?"

The two sat down at the dining table. He Wan watched him eat, and it seemed to be a meal for two. She didn't stand on ceremony with him. After putting Hua Hua down, she picked up the bowl and chopsticks next to her and said, "Yes, my phone is broken."

He Wan was wondering whether she should tell him about Chen Qing. If she did, would it involve her and Lao Yun coming from another world?

After much thought, I decided to keep it a secret for now.

Bai Muyin assumed it was just a simple phone breakage, so he said, "I'll go buy you a new one later. Where's your SIM card?"

"My SIM card is broken too. You don't need to get me a new one. Just have Lao He get me a replacement when she gets back."

Bai Muyin couldn't fathom how she managed to break the SIM card in such a fall.

But I didn't ask any more questions. After dinner, I drove to the mall and picked out two phones for her that were the same model as Shushu's.

Why did you buy two?

"Here's a spare, so you can contact me if my phone breaks next time."

He Wan rolled her eyes speechlessly. How much of a waste of her phone must she be using?

However, having a backup would be fine, so I quickly downloaded the software on my phone and logged back into the chat app, since I couldn't receive verification codes and could only verify through friends.

Fortunately, Lao Yun had some free time at the moment, and the first thing he did after logging onto WeChat was to contact her.

"Old Yun, I've finally gotten in touch with you."

"Old He, what happened? I heard from Mu Yin that your phone got dropped?"

"Oh, what bad luck. Are you off work yet?"

"We're still filming; there's one more scene to go."

"Then you go ahead and get busy. We can talk again when you get back to the hotel."

"good."

Bai Muyin was relieved to see that they had made contact and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll be going now. Is there anything you need me to buy for you?"

"We don't need it right now, Mr. Bai. Thank you for your help this time."

"You're welcome, I'm leaving now."

"Okay, I'll call you if anything comes up."
