He Wan's face showed a hint of embarrassment, but it wasn't very obvious. She was afraid that Zhou Ting'an would misunderstand. She actually had other things to do that she couldn't tell him, so she quickly made an excuse and said, "I actually have a train at noon, but I haven't bought a ticket yet."
Zhou Ting'an glanced at her watch; it was almost eleven o'clock. She quickly said, "The mall isn't far from the train station. I'll take you there."
He then pulled her to the parking area behind the mall. He had actually driven a military vehicle: "Isn't this inappropriate?"
"Don't worry, we're just out here to take care of some business and also to help some of our comrades buy some things to take back. We brought two cars."
He Wan said "oh" and got into the passenger seat.
I have to say, driving is really fast. It only takes ten minutes to get from the shopping mall to the train station.
To avoid arousing Zhou Ting'an's suspicion, He Wan quickly ran to the lobby to check the train routes.
When Zhou Ting'an walked over, she pointed to the nearest bus lane and said, "I'm going to Panjin this afternoon, and I'll be taking this bus."
Zhou Ting'an saw that there was still half an hour before departure, so he quickly bought a ticket for He Wan.
Then he took out a wad of cash and some bills from his pocket, and gave them all to He Wan without even counting them: "Take this money. I don't have any vacation time recently, so I can't come to see you. I'll try to find some time off to come see you during the Chinese New Year."
He Wan saw that there were several bills and quickly pushed them over: "Brother Ting'an, I have money. I get subsidies every day, and the village also gives me work points. I don't need money at all."
Zhou Ting'an didn't refute her, but instead said, "I know, you don't lack these things." Afraid that she would worry, he took out a few coins from his pocket and said, "I still have some. I get a good allowance every day, and I don't spend much money on food and drink in the army. Now that I have a younger sister, I naturally have to take good care of you. Don't be frugal with your brother. If anything happens in the village, don't bear it alone. Remember that you have family now."
He Wan felt like crying after hearing Zhou Ting'an's words. Her eyes suddenly stung, but she forced herself to nod and say, "Okay, I understand, Brother Ting'an."
If it was just a passing fancy before, now she truly feels that having an older brother to care for her makes a real difference.
"Does your clothing have pockets? Hide your money carefully, be careful on the train, and never eat anything offered by strangers. If you get hungry on the road, don't try to save money by eating cold food; ask the train attendant to buy you a hot meal."
As He Wan listened to Zhou Ting'an's words, she became somewhat immersed in his gentle and subtle smile and tender care. Suddenly, she wondered why she hadn't gone to the countryside in Chuncheng.
Even after they got into the car, Zhou Ting'an was still giving her instructions from the window.
He Wan waved to him and said, "Brother Ting'an, you must come to see me when you have a holiday."
"Okay. Remember to call me when you get there, or you can write a letter."
"Okay, you can go back now."
As He Wan said goodbye to him, she was anxious because she couldn't get down now; it would take more than an hour to get from Chuncheng to Panjin.
It's almost midnight now, and it's obvious that her deal with Mawei is going to be delayed. She has to think of something.
After the train left the station, He Wan hurried to the restroom.
I looked around the toilet window but didn't see anyone sticking their head out.
With a determined heart, she closed her eyes and jumped down. Just before landing, she used her mind to teleport into her spatial dimension, found two thick clothes, wrapped one around her head and put the other on her body, then left the spatial dimension and landed straight on the ground.
Fortunately, there was space to help, so it didn't hurt much. After rolling around a few times, I landed safely.
