Chapter Fifty-Four: The Bai and Yun Families

The head of the family, Shirasu Gen, has two brothers. The younger brother, Shirasu En, served successively as the head of the Ministry of Posts and Communications in Kyoto and the director of the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance in Sae. He was just transferred here this year and has a son and a daughter.

The eldest son, Beam Muda, holds a PhD in Chemistry from a world-renowned university.

After returning to China, he founded several companies and successively served as chairman of Yechengxing Chemical Plant, general manager of Kefa Pharmaceutical Plant, and general manager of Kyoto Pharmaceutical Plant.

The second daughter, Bai Muqing, is also a graduate of a prestigious university and is currently a well-known lawyer in China. She is single and a typical career woman.

The second wife also owns a very famous law firm.

"What's wrong, sister-in-law?" Aunt Jiang Yu asked the children as she came in.

Mrs. Bai changed her clothes and came downstairs: "Why else? It's all because of Mu Yin. I met my old neighbor a few days ago. His eldest daughter isn't even as old as Mu Wei. She already has a three-year-old child."

“Sister-in-law, you have to be more open-minded. These days, young people all value enjoying their time as a couple. The government is encouraging late marriage and late childbirth. We can’t be like we were back then, getting pregnant right after getting married and wasting our best years on them.”

"Mom is the best! Mom is the greatest mom in the world!" Bai Muqing, the little princess of the Bai family, quickly said in a spoiled tone from behind.

Mrs. Bai smiled and nodded at her.

Mrs. Bai was naturally easygoing, but she was worried about her youngest son, who had never shown any interest in any girl since he was a child.

After Bai Zhouyuan and Bai Zhouen arrived, Mrs. Bai quickly instructed the housekeeper to start setting the table.

After the family sat down, they mostly chatted about everyday things, just like any other ordinary person.

In a family, whether you are the world's richest person or an ordinary office worker, you are all the same when facing your family members.

"Which old neighbor was your sister-in-law talking about? The neighbors in the neighborhood haven't changed in the past few years."

"Do you remember our old neighbors on Wutong Street, Zhouyuan and Mr. and Mrs. Yun? They were both professors."

Mr. Bai nodded and said, "Professor Yun? I've seen him on TV occasionally."

Mrs. Yun smiled and said, "I went to the H culture lecture in the city today and happened to run into her. We chatted for a while and I also met her youngest daughter, who is now in the entertainment industry."

Her skin was so fair and delicate, you could practically squeeze juice out of it; she's still as adorable as she was when she was a child. As she spoke, she happened to see someone on television and pointed, saying, "There she is."

Mrs. Bai exclaimed, "Mom, isn't this the celebrity who was involved in the scandal of having a mistress a while back?"

"Yes, Auntie, it's the Jiang family's son who used to be our neighbor. I really didn't expect it."

"What? Mu Yin doesn't know it like that. The two of them were originally engaged."

Wang Lu, who was standing nearby, said, "Jiang Yi and Shen Jimeng are currently being promoted as a couple. Everyone says they are a pair. Look, it's her." She then pointed to Shen Jimeng on the TV.

Mrs. Bai looked at the two people on TV and said, "Neither of them is as pretty as the Yun family's daughter."

Mu Qing smiled and said, "Mom, one is pure and sweet, the other is gentle and innocent, two different styles. You older generations should all like this kind of gentle and quiet girl."

The eldest daughter-in-law, Wang Lu, said in surprise, "He has a fiancée? I didn't expect Jiang Yi to be so unreliable in private. I was even a fan of his."

"Sister-in-law, you're a fan of celebrities too?"

"Occasionally, I like his eyes the most..." Before she could finish speaking, Wang Lu felt the man's gaze beside her, quickly stopped talking, exchanged a glance with her sister-in-law, and remained silent.

Bai Zhouen said, "Yun Mu has become quite famous in the archaeological community in recent years. I've heard that he has written quite a few books on the subject."

Bai Zhouyuan laughed and said, "Old Yun and his wife are very knowledgeable. When they named their two daughters, they could just open their mouths and recite a long poem."

Mrs. Bai smiled: "That's right, I think his little girl is quite nice."

Upon hearing this, the younger generation immediately understood what was going on. Mu Da nudged Bai Muyin with his elbow and said, "Second Brother, you'd better be careful."

The eldest brother looked at his younger brother with amusement, secretly pleased. It seemed his mother had a new "reserve," and the second brother was in for some trouble. It was good that she had shifted her focus.
