"Ah!" Wang Liangdi exclaimed in surprise.
The pain in her knee brought tears to her eyes.
She looked up at Nangong Jin, seeing the blood gushing from his torn skirt, and cried out, "Your Highness..."
She now only felt that Nangong Jin's gaze was terrifying.
A normal throw of the jade pendant could not possibly tear her skirt and cut her flesh.
Nangong Jin didn't even look at her: "Tell the concubine that Consort Zhao has been deceiving her superiors and stirring up trouble. Punish her according to family law."
Upon hearing the words "family law," Consort Wang immediately realized what was happening. She knelt on the ground, kowtowing and crying out, "Your Highness, what wrong have I done to make you so angry? I am the victim!"
Nangong Jin chuckled: "Are you sure you don't know?"
Wang Liangdi knew she was doomed when she saw the curve of Nangong Jin's lips, but her last instinct for survival made her decide to try one last time. She braced herself and looked at Nangong Jin.
"I do not know."
Nangong Jin nodded upon hearing her answer and looked directly at Xia Ju: "Go and bring the person inside."
Xia Ju nodded and went out. About two minutes later, she came back in with a trembling maid.
When Wang Liangdi saw the maid, she knew she was completely finished. She never expected that the brat would be so loose-lipped.
"Your Highness, I understand, I was wrong. Please give me another chance, considering I've served you for so many years!"
Nangong Jin waved to Xia Ju, signaling her to take the person away. Xia Ju nodded, walked over, grabbed Wang Liangdi, and threw her out.
She was a trained martial artist, so Wang Liangdi's small frame was nothing compared to her.
Sang Jiang looked at herself as she watched Wang Liangdi's actions. She was even thinner than Wang Liangdi. If this man got upset one day, would he throw her out like a chicken?
As if she could read her thoughts, Nangong Jin smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, I won't be that violent towards you."
Sang Jiang: "...Then I should thank you?"
Nangong Jin looked at her seriously for two seconds before slowly uttering three words: "You're welcome."
Sang Jiang: ...
The person who was happiest about Wang Liangdi's departure was none other than Zhao Lianyan.
While she was pretending to plead for Wang Liangdi, she was saying things that made Nangong Jin even angrier.
But she soon stopped laughing.
Su Liangdi couldn't help but gag when she saw Wang Liangdi's torn and bleeding skin.
"What's wrong with my sister?" Zhao Lianyan asked, looking at her suspiciously.
Su Liangdi forced herself to stand up and looked at Zhao Lianyan, managing a weak smile: "I..."
She had barely finished speaking when everything went black and she fainted.
When Su Liangdi opened her eyes again, she looked at Nangong Jin in front of her and couldn't help but blink, then blink again.
She reached out and pinched her thigh in confusion.
"Hiss!" The intense pain jolted her awake.
She was about to get up and bow to Nangong Jin when he pressed her back down.
Su Liangdi glanced around the room, puzzled. When she saw Zhao Lianyan and a royal physician there, her heart sank.
Could it be that she has some incurable disease?
Otherwise, why would Nangong Jin look at her with such gentle eyes, and even Zhao Lianyan looked nervous?
Su Liangdi pouted and burst into tears.
