Chapter 15 What bad luck!

Just as Sang Jiang was hesitating, bewildered, about whether to knock on the door again, she heard the woman's voice coming from inside the room once more.

"What is a young girl doing here so early in the morning? She's really wasting my sleep time. What bad luck!"

Sang Jiang: ...

She put her hand back down after raising it.

So TV dramas are all lies!

What's the point of men dressing up as women? It's completely useless.

She even drew thick eyebrows today and tightened her tiny breasts, which barely existed, but she was still spotted immediately.

He looked at the tightly closed gates except for Huai Fengyue's and sighed helplessly.

She had just looked and saw that all the women in Huai Fengyue's group were unwilling, and even when someone went over, no one paid them any attention.

Sang Jiang looked at the market dejectedly, thinking, "I'll just go and browse around the market anyway."

This is the first time she's come out here after being here for so long.

The market was already crowded with people, with countless vendors selling vegetables, handicrafts, and various snacks.

It was much more lively than some of the temple fairs she visited during the Chinese New Year in modern times.

Sang Jiang saw an old man selling candied hawthorns and thought of how the female lead in period dramas always bought candied hawthorns, so she decided to do the same.

Thinking about it, I walked straight toward the old man selling candied hawthorns. After taking only a few steps, I saw a woman with a veil pass by me.

A faint, rich fragrance wafted by, not particularly strong, yet it actually smelled quite pleasant to Sang Jiang.

Her gaze followed the woman's steps; the woman's waist was exceptionally slender, swaying slightly with each step.

Just as the woman was about to turn the corner, Sang Jiang suddenly ran over and grabbed a man next to her.

The man's arm was pulled behind his back by Sang Jiang. He struggled and shouted, "What are you doing! You're hitting me! Help!"

Hearing the noise, the woman turned her head to look at Sang Jiang, and the little maid beside her also looked over.

The maid pointed directly at the man and shouted, "Miss, your purse."

Upon hearing the sound, the woman first looked at her waist and realized that her purse was indeed missing. Then she looked at the man.

Before she could speak, her maidservant had already walked up to Sang Jiang and snatched the purse from the man's hand.

The man tried to break free, but Sang Jiang's forceful movement caused him to grit his teeth in pain once more.

The maid handed the purse to the woman, who curtsied to Sang Jiang and said, "Thank you, young master."

Her voice was exceptionally soft, and her slightly drawn-out intonation sounded incredibly alluring.

Sang Jiang's phoenix eyes slightly twitched.

It's not quite what she imagined.

Sang Jiang released the man, who immediately ran away.

Seeing that the man had already run away, the woman turned and left.

Sang Jiang: ...

That's it?!

Sang Jiang looked in the direction the woman had left—wasn't that the same direction she had just gone?

Could she be from that side?

She wasn't discriminating against them, she was just a little surprised.

Sang Jiang thought for a moment and followed behind the woman. When she came to her senses, she found herself standing at the door of Huai Fengyue.

Sang Jiang raised an eyebrow. She was actually one of Huai Fengyue's people, but why did she feel that this woman was different from the others?

Because she was distracted, she didn't notice that the woman in front of her had already ordered her maid to wait for her there.

The maid looked at her and said in a cool tone, "It must have been hard for you to follow me all this way, young master. My young lady is upstairs. Please come with me, young master."

Her tone was slightly sarcastic.

She just couldn't understand why her daughter would invite this man up. After all, her daughter used to be someone you couldn't ask for a meeting, no matter how much money she had to pay, but now she was down on her luck.

This man must have known his daughter's identity to have followed her for so long.

Thinking about it made my impression of Sang Jiang even worse.

Sang Jiang raised an eyebrow; this little maid was quite hostile towards her.

However, she was there to do serious business, not to argue, so she took a step inside.
