Chapter 20: Can I Still Go Home?

Long Jingyu felt Sang Jiang's struggle and tightened his arm around her. He lowered his head and whispered, "Don't move, you're still injured."

His voice at that moment was just like his eyes, exceptionally clean and clear, making Sang Jiang unable to resist submitting.

Only after Sang Jiang stopped moving did he look at Sang Ruo again and say, "A married daughter is like water spilled from a bowl. Since the Imperial Concubine has married into the royal family, she is now a member of the royal family. How can the affairs of the Prime Minister's residence still be the Imperial Concubine's family affairs?"

Furthermore, the Fourth Miss is none other than the future Crown Princess of Tianyi, that is, the daughter-in-law of the royal family. Do you really think that the matter of the royal daughter-in-law is a private family affair of the Prime Minister's residence, given the grand scale of your family discipline?

Sang Ruo felt a lump in her throat. Long Jingyu had suddenly slapped such a huge label on her, leaving her speechless for a moment.

From the moment Long Jingyu picked up Sang Jiang, Sang Ruo became a little unsettled. Long Jingyu rarely meddles in other people's business, but this time he was surprisingly protective of Sang Jiang.

If this is an uncle's way of showing care for a younger generation... then there's no need to hug Sang Jiang like that.

Sang Ruo felt completely bewildered.

Upon hearing that Sang Jiang was Long Tianyi's future crown princess, Sang Rui, who was standing next to the royal daughter-in-law, turned green with shock, her small hands tightly clutching the handkerchief in her hands.

All of this should have been hers, but it was all taken away by that little bitch Sang Jiang.

Sang Jiang gently tugged at Long Jingyu's sleeve. Long Jingyu looked down and saw that Sang Jiang didn't want to stay there any longer. He hugged her and turned to leave.

Kou'er quickly got up and followed him, limping.

Once outside the courtyard, Sang Jiang said shyly, "Eighth Prince, please put me down."

Long Jingyu ignored her, picked her up and strode away. After a couple of steps, he realized he didn't know the way.

Kou'er noticed his embarrassment and forced herself to walk up to Long Jingyu to lead the way: "Eighth Prince, please follow me."

Sang Jiang simply buried her head and closed her eyes, pretending to be dead.

Long Jingyu followed Kou'er through a maze of twists and turns, and the deeper they went, the more his brow furrowed.

When he arrived at Sang Jiang's courtyard, his brows were furrowed into a deep frown.

He gently carried Sang Jiang and placed her on the bed, his movements extremely light, as if he were holding a fragile doll.

As soon as Sang Jiang touched the bed, she frantically rubbed against it, as if Long Jingyu were some kind of wild beast.

She buried her face in the pillow and said in a muffled voice, "Thank you, Eighth Prince. If there's nothing else, please leave. It's not appropriate for us, a lone man and a lone woman, to be alone."

Long Jingyu didn't make things difficult for her. However, he didn't know when someone had brought him wound medicine. He put the medicine on the table next to him and instructed Kou'er, "Don't forget to give it to your young lady."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Sang Jiang gazed in the direction he had left, lost in thought.

She really didn't understand how she had caught this old man's eye. She had read in the novel that Sang Jiang and the Eighth Prince had no connection whatsoever.

Could it be that her arrival changed the plot of the novel?

Will she be able to go home?

Thinking about this, Sang Jiang became melancholy. She longed to go home and dreamed every day that she would wake up in her own Simmons bed.

I wonder if my parents will be sad if they know she's gone.

Kou'er noticed that Sang Jiang's brows were slightly furrowed and thought that Sang Jiang was unhappy because of Long Jingyu. She took the wound medicine and walked to Sang Jiang's side and said softly, "Miss, the Eighth Prince probably saved you because you are the future princess of the Prince of Tianyi."

Sang Jiang snapped out of her reverie and looked at Kou'er, her phoenix eyes darting back and forth before she finally spoke, "Hmm, I think so too!"

She glanced at the wound medicine next to her for a long time before picking it up and throwing it into Kou'er's hand.
