Chapter 266 Princess Mingyue is the one being sent for a political marriage.

The Imperial Palace, Chengshun Hall.

Yang Qi walked in with a beaming smile: "Your Majesty, someone from the Prime Minister's residence just reported that Princess Luoying has moved into the Prime Minister's residence."

"Hmm." Long Jingchen frowned as he looked at the chessboard in front of him, not paying any attention to what Yang Qi was saying.

Seeing that he didn't object, Yang Qi continued, "Does Your Majesty wish to discuss the date for bestowing the title of Imperial Concubine with the Imperial Advisor?"

Long Jingchen then put down the chess piece in his hand and looked up at him: "When did I say I was going to make a concubine?"

Yang Qi noticed her expression was off and immediately wiped away all his smile: "Is Your Majesty not planning to marry Princess Luoying?"

"Of course I..." He suddenly stopped speaking and changed his words, "Do I think I need to tell you what I'm doing?"

"This servant knows his mistake." Yang Qi knelt down in front of Long Jingchen with a thud.

Long Jingchen raised an eyebrow, ignored him, and turned back to continue looking at his chess game.

Not long after, Yang Qi ran in again: "Your Majesty, the envoy from Xifeng Kingdom has arrived."

Long Jingchen frowned unhappily: "Please."

Yang Qi nodded and went back to invite the envoy from Xifeng Kingdom in.

"Your Majesty, we pay our respects to the Emperor of Dongchen." The envoy knelt and bowed deeply to Long Jingchen.

Long Jingchen nodded: "Please rise, Your Excellency."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." The envoy stood up and stepped aside.

Long Jingchen looked at the group and said with a smile, "We originally planned to host a welcome dinner for the envoys tonight, but I didn't expect the envoys to arrive so soon."

The messenger smiled and said, "Your Majesty, we have come to discuss the wedding arrangements between Your Majesty and our Princess."

Actually, they came to ask Dongchen when he could send troops, but they couldn't say it directly, so they used the wedding as an excuse to bring it up.

Long Jingchen looked at the envoy and said with a smile, "There's no rush for the wedding. After all, the princess is of noble birth. Wouldn't it be a disservice to hastily bestow upon her the title of concubine?"

Upon hearing this, the envoys exchanged glances, and one of the older ones stepped forward: "Since the princess has married into Dongchen, she is now a wife of the Dongchen Kingdom. As long as the Emperor cares for the princess, there is no question of her being wronged. Besides, Dongchen is the land where the princess grew up, so there is no need to worry about her being unfamiliar with the environment."

Long Jingchen's pupils contracted upon hearing his words, as she keenly grasped an important piece of information: "You said the princess grew up in Dongchen? But as far as I know, Princess Luoying has never been to my Dongchen Kingdom. How can you say she grew up from childhood?"

The envoy chuckled: "Your Majesty may have misunderstood. The one who came for the marriage alliance is not Princess Luoying, but Princess Mingyue, whom Your Majesty has just recognized."

Long Jingchen was completely stunned when he heard the words "Princess Mingyue".

He was on the verge of a breakdown, but he managed to hold it in.

She was the one sent for a political marriage?

Princess Mingyue, Sang Jiang!

He was momentarily at a loss for words, feeling completely bewildered.

He couldn't help but smile at the thought of marrying her, but then he became worried about what he had done. He didn't know what Sang Jiang's mindset was when she married him, only that he was very nervous and even wanted to see her as soon as possible.

He originally thought he was marrying Nangong Luoying. He hadn't thought about how to marry her at all; he just wanted to make her a concubine. He never expected that God would give her such a big surprise.

He watched as the envoy's smile deepened, becoming much more amiable than his previous forced grin.
