Chapter 27 The Fourth Miss is so impressive!

With a "slap!", Sang Ruo didn't react until the slap landed on Consort Qi's face.

What did Sang Jiang do?!

She actually grabbed her own hand and slapped Consort Qi across the face!

Sang Ruo looked at her hands in disbelief.

She was already shocked when Sang Jiang spoke; she never expected her to...

Sang Ruo was overwhelmed with mixed feelings and didn't know what to say.

She was genuinely surprised that Sang Jiang could help her. If it had been Sang Jiang who was beaten, she probably would have just watched secretly.

Consort Qi also stared at Sang Jiang in shock. How dare she hit her?!

Consort Qi screamed at Sang Jiang like a madwoman, "How dare you, Sang Jiang! How dare you hit me! Guards, seize her! I'm going to find the Emperor!"

The palace maids behind her only realized what was happening when they heard Consort Qi's voice.

They really didn't expect Sang Jiang to dare to lay a hand on Consort Qi.

Upon hearing Consort Qi's words, they all bared their teeth and brandished their claws as they ran towards Sang Jiang.

Sang Ruo glared at the situation and said, "How dare you! All of you, stop right there!"

She didn't know how she managed to shout those words, but the thought of Sang Jiang protecting her gave her a sudden sense of confidence.

The palace maids were stunned for a moment, looking at Consort Qi and then at Sang Ruo, not knowing what to do.

Sang Jiang released Sang Ruo's hand, walked in front of her, and stood between her and Consort Qi, speaking sternly: "Consort Qi, how dare you be so insolent! The Imperial Concubine only slapped you once, and you actually want to take it to the Emperor? Who gave you the courage?"

Consort Qi was not to be outdone, but her words softened somewhat: "What you said, Fourth Miss, is quite interesting. I was just joking with my sister, how is that considered disrespectful?"

Actually, what she just said about going to the Emperor to reason with him was just talk. She knew very well that although Sang Ruo was timid, the Emperor favored her the most, and if she made a scene with the Emperor, she would definitely not get the better of him.

Sang Jiang was too lazy to play along with her. She stretched out her hand in front of Consort Qi and said softly, "Hairpin."

Consort Qi frowned, looking at Sang Jiang with resentment. Just as she was about to refuse, she heard Sang Jiang scoff.

"Your Highness Consort Qi, I remember Minister Qi just received an honorary title, surely he can afford to provide you with even a hairpin? Do you really need to ask the Noble Consort for one?"

Her words seemed innocuous, but every single one of them was a sarcastic jab at Consort Qi, making her appear like a beggar begging from Sang Ruo.

Even the usually low-key Sang Ruo couldn't help but cover her mouth with her handkerchief and laugh out loud.

Consort Qi felt a flush on her face.

Finally, amidst the palace maids' mocking gazes, he snatched the hairpin from his hand, placed it in Sang Jiang's hand, and turned to flee as if running away.

After taking two steps, he turned back and glared fiercely at Sang Jiang.

Sang Ruo almost couldn't help but roll her eyes at her.

After Consort Qi left, Sang Jiang looked at the hairpin in her hand and studied it for a while, but there was nothing special about it. It only had a few strands of hair that Consort Qi had accidentally pulled out in her haste.

Sang Jiang handed the hairpin to Sang Ruo, raised her phoenix eyes slightly, and said teasingly, "You're welcome."

Sang Ruo took the hairpin, pursed her lips, and finally said in a very arrogant tone, "I won't thank you."

Sang Jiang pursed her lips, turned around and left first.

Seeing that no one was around, Kou'er began to nag in her ear: "Miss, do you know how dangerous that was? Consort Qi will definitely not let you off the hook. What are we going to do? But you were quite brave to protect the young lady just now."

Sang Jiang raised an eyebrow slightly as she listened to Kou'er's rambling. "Not bad, little girl. You've even learned how to use 'sa' (飒)."

"The Fourth Miss was quite impressive just now."
