The First Madam nodded, holding Sang Rui's hands tightly: "Don't worry, Mother will take good care of you."
Sang Rui nodded: "I know, Mother. I've decided not to tell Prince Tianyi about this yet."
"Why?" the First Madam asked, looking at her with a puzzled expression.
Sang Rui slowly sat up: "We can't be the ones who discovered this child. If Prince Tianyi discovered it himself, he's always been suspicious, so telling him this would make it hard for him not to be suspicious."
The First Madam thought for a moment and nodded: "Alright, I'll do whatever you say."
That evening, as soon as Sang Hongfu returned to the Prime Minister's residence, he went straight to Yang Liu's room. He felt uncomfortable all day without smelling Yang Liu's scent.
When he reached the door, he glanced at the room, which was already dark, and couldn't help but frown. Were they already asleep?
Yang Liu usually waits for him to come back before going to sleep, so why is she up so early today?
He walked to the door and knocked, but no one answered. He felt a chill and tried to push the door open. The door wasn't locked and opened easily.
Sang Hongfu thought Yang Liu was doing it on purpose, so he chuckled and said, "Naughty."
As he spoke, he walked into the room, and when he got to the bedside and found that the bed was empty, he realized that something was wrong.
The cup was cold, which clearly meant Yang Liu hadn't come back to sleep.
He walked into the courtyard and shouted, "Someone come here!"
The servant boy ran over in response: "Master."
Sang Hongfu looked at him and asked, "Where is Aunt Liu?"
The servant shook his head: "This servant does not know. Aunt Liu has not returned since she went to pay her respects to the princess this morning."
"Paying respects to the princess?" Sang Hongfu frowned. "Did she go alone?"
The servant thought for a moment and shook his head: "He went with the madam."
Sang Hongfu gritted his teeth; he knew it was this woman causing trouble again.
He waved to the servant and turned to walk towards the Hibiscus Courtyard.
"Liu Furong! Come out here!" He started shouting as soon as he arrived at the entrance of Furong Garden.
The First Madam's expression changed upon hearing his shout. She glanced at the already sleeping Sang Rui, got up, and walked outside, saying, "What are you shouting about!"
Sang Hongfu looked at him, his voice much softer: "Where's Liu'er?"
The First Madam's face instantly turned green: "Sang Hongfu! You came to my courtyard in the middle of the night just to see that little slut?"
Feeling somewhat guilty after being called that, Sang Hongfu forced himself to continue, "Otherwise, would I be looking for you?"
"You!" The First Madam was furious. She took two steps forward and pushed Sang Hongfu outside. "Get out of here! I didn't see that little bitch! Get out now!"
"How dare you!" Sang Hongfu pushed away the First Madam who was shoving him.
The First Madam stumbled back a few steps, but Cuiping caught her in time to prevent her from falling to the ground.
She stared at Sang Hongfu, her eyes wide, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes: "Sang Hongfu! You dare to push me!?"
Sang Hongfu looked at her and flung his sleeve: "You're simply unreasonable!"
After saying that, he turned and left, heading towards Yunshuang Courtyard.
At the entrance of Yunshuang Courtyard, Sang Hongfu looked at the Xifeng guards standing on both sides and asked solemnly, "Has Her Majesty rested?"
The guard bowed to him before speaking: "The princess is resting. Please come again tomorrow, sir."
Sang Hongfu glanced into the courtyard a few more times before nodding.
He couldn't find Yang Liu and felt a pang of anxiety and distress.
Chunhe, who was in the courtyard, saw him and walked up with a smile: "This servant greets Your Excellency the Prime Minister. May I ask what brings you here so late at night?"
