The Empress narrowed her eyes, a fierce light flashing within them.
After a long pause, she seemed to make up her mind, took a deep breath, and said, "Granny Lin, go and bring him here."
Granny Lin was taken aback: "Your Highness, are you sure?"
"Yes." The Empress nodded.
She couldn't care less about anything else now. Perhaps only he could stop Sang Ruo from going on her southern tour. She just didn't know how Sang Ruo would react when she saw him and her fighting each other.
Her former lover had now become her enemy. Thinking of this, the Empress's expression softened considerably. She gave a cold laugh, sat up straight, and casually tidied her slightly disheveled hair.
She is the Empress, and she must always maintain her dignity.
Lin Mama opened her mouth but then closed it again. She knew very well that it would be pointless for her to try to dissuade the Empress now, and besides, she didn't know whether the matter would succeed.
Meanwhile, at Jinghe Palace.
Looking at Sang Jiang's weak appearance, Sang Ruo suddenly lost her anger and burst out laughing: "You're still smug, aren't you? You can do it every day, can't you?"
Sangjiang: ? ? ?
Is she an idiot? What should she do if she really wants to faint again?
Sang Ruo looked at her as if she were a fool and couldn't help but cough awkwardly twice: "I have some good news, do you want to hear it?"
Sang Jiang frowned, her phoenix eyes fixed on Sang Ruo.
What good news?
If you dare to lie to me, you're finished!
Sang Ruo smiled and said, "We're going on a southern tour at the end of the month."
Sang Jiang's eyes lit up, and she suddenly became energetic. A southern tour! Escape! Bah, regain freedom!
Seeing her like this, Sang Ruo couldn't help but roll her eyes at her: "You should think about why you were poisoned in the first place."
Although she guessed that the Empress was the one who poisoned Sang Jiang, she really couldn't understand why the Empress would poison her.
Not only Sang Ruo, but even Sang Jiang herself couldn't understand what was so special about her that made the Empress think about her every day.
...
Two days later, Sang Jiang finally escaped her life in bed. She lay on a rocking chair, swaying back and forth. Sparse sunlight refracted through the leaves and onto her face, revealing dappled sunlight.
She squinted her eyes contentedly, one leg casually crossed over the other.
Suddenly, Sang Jiang felt a flash of cold light, which startled her so much that she tumbled off the rocking chair and onto the ground.
She looked at the man in black who suddenly jumped out of the tree and said softly, "Great hero, let's talk this out. What are you doing? I understand. Did you steal something and are you being chased? It's okay, don't worry. I'll protect you here."
As she spoke, she smiled apologetically and backed away.
The man in black frowned. This was Consort Sang? She didn't quite look like her. But judging from her words, it must be true. She had just said she would protect him. Just think, in Jinghe Palace, who else but Consort Sang would say something like that?
Thinking this, he once again drew his sword and pointed it at Sang Jiang: "Your Highness, I have offended you. If you have someone to blame, blame yourself for offending someone you shouldn't have."
He shouldn't have said that, but thinking of her... and considering that Sang Jiang was going to die soon anyway, he said a few more words to her.
Upon hearing this, Sang Jiang immediately shook her head: "Brother! I am not Consort Sang!"
So this guy mistook me for someone else? Sang Jiang patted her chest in relief: "Can I go now?"
She made a "leave" gesture with two fingers in front of her chest.
The man chuckled softly: "What do you think?"
As he spoke, he raised his sword and charged towards Sang Jiang. Just as the sword was about three centimeters away from Sang Jiang...
