The First Madam was quickly summoned by the butler. As she walked over, she shouted angrily, "What is this? What business is it of mine if that little bitch is injured? She really thinks she's something special!"
She had been taking care of Sang Rui all day, so all she knew so far was that the woodshed was on fire and Yang Liu was injured; she knew nothing else. But when Sang Hongfu ordered someone to take her there, she immediately exploded.
Sang Hongfu frowned as he listened to her cursing. He stood up, walked out, and roared at the First Madam in the courtyard, "Shut up! What's the difference between a dignified Prime Minister's wife cursing like a shrew?"
The First Madam laughed in anger upon hearing his words: "Sang Hongfu! You're looking down on me now? Why didn't you think I was shameful when you were asking me to marry you? When you were down on your luck, it was my Liu family who never abandoned you and never looked down on you. Now that you've made it big, you're looking down on me?"
When Sang Hongfu heard about her past, he felt ashamed. He came from a poor family and lost his travel money as soon as he arrived in the capital to take the imperial examination. He was even mistaken for a thief. Fortunately, Liu Furong rescued him and took him back to the capital, giving him travel money and lodging, which enabled him to pass the examination and achieve success.
He developed feelings for Liu Furong while living in the Liu family home, and the two were already secretly together. This is why, even though he married Ruan Yunyun first, Sang Ruo was the eldest child in the family.
At the time, the Liu family tried their best to stop her, but since she was already pregnant, they had no choice but to make her the second wife.
She had finally outlived Ruan Yunyun before she could take the position of the First Madam, and now she was being ridden on by a little bitch. How could she possibly accept this?
With a dark expression, he shouted at Liu Furong, "You are simply unreasonable!"
The First Madam laughed, pointing at herself incredulously, "Sang Hongfu! You say I'm unreasonable? I'm unreasonable, aren't I!?"
Sang Hongfu's face grew increasingly dark. He glanced at the crowd who were all listening intently, eyes downcast, and shouted sternly, "Get out! No one is allowed to come in without my permission. And anyone who dares to tell anyone what happened today will be in for a world of hurt!"
The maids and servants lowered their heads even further, and just as they were about to leave, the First Madam called them back.
With tears in her eyes, the First Madam glared at Sang Hongfu: "Stop right there! Let's see who dares to leave! Sang Hongfu, since you dared to do it, don't be afraid of losing face!"
For a moment, everyone was at a loss, as both sides were their masters and they couldn't afford to offend either of them.
"Liu Furong! Aren't you ashamed enough? Do you want me to tell you all the dirty things you've done?" Sang Hongfu was also enraged by her attitude.
The First Madam laughed, tears streaming down her face, and said with a smile, "What despicable things have I done? Tell me what despicable things I've done!"
She was trembling all over; she was really angry with Sang Hongfu this time.
In the past, no matter what, Sang Hongfu would never dare to speak to her like that or be so fierce to her, but everything changed after Yang Liu came.
Sang Hongfu waved his hand irritably at the maids and servants once again: "Get out!"
This time, however, no one lingered at all; they all lowered their heads and walked out.
Sang Hongfu waited until everyone had left before continuing, "Tell me yourself what you did to Liu'er. Wasn't locking her up enough? You even sent people to set fire to and kill her. Liu Furong, how could you be so heartless!"
