Chapter 234 Sang Yan Meets the Sang Family

Sang Yan pursed her lips and turned her gaze to Yang Liu first.

Yang Liu was standing to Sang Hongfu's left, with one hand on her waist and the other holding Sang Hongfu's hand, looking like a little bird clinging to him.

After sensing Sang Jiang's gaze, she frowned slightly.

Sang Yan walked up to the group and gave a slight bow: "Daughter greets Father, Mother, and Aunt."

The moment the third concubine saw her, tears immediately streamed down her face.

She opened her mouth, looked at Sang Hongfu and the First Madam, but ultimately remained silent.

She had neither the status of the First Madam nor the favor of Consort Yang in the Prime Minister's residence, so even when she saw her own daughter, she didn't have the chance to talk to her or tell her that she missed her.

Sang Yan nodded slightly in response to her third aunt.

"Why did you come back alone? Where is Yun'er? Why isn't he here?" The First Madam looked behind her a few times and, not seeing Sang Yun, couldn't help but ask.

Sang Yan smiled slightly and curtsied to the First Madam: "Replying to Mother, Second Brother has been summoned to the palace for some business. He asked me to come back first, saying he would be right back."

The First Madam finally breathed a slight sigh of relief: "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back."

Sang Hongfu looked at her and nodded slightly: "Sang... how is Princess Mingyue?"

Sang Yan then turned her gaze to Sang Hongfu and said softly, "Fourth Sister is well, Father need not worry."

Sang Hongfu nodded: "Did she say anything?"

When Sang Hongfu asked this question, Yang Liu's pupils contracted and she subconsciously clenched her fists.

Sang Yan glanced at her casually before smiling and saying, "Father, don't worry. Fourth Sister said he's doing well and told Father and Mother to live well here. She said she'll miss you both."

Sang Jiang naturally didn't say that. The reason she said that was firstly because Sang Jiang really had nothing to tell them, and secondly, to put Yang Liu at ease and make her think that Sang Jiang hadn't told her anything.

Sang Hongfu nodded: "Okay, I understand. You must be tired from your journey. Go back and rest with your aunt as soon as possible."

Sang Yan nodded and curtsied to him, saying, "Daughter thanks Father."

Sang Hongfu nodded and turned to leave with Yang Liu.

The First Madam watched with resentment as the two of them left with Sang Rui.

In an instant, only Sang Yan and the Third Madam remained in the huge courtyard.

The Third Madam hugged Sangyan tightly, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably: "You silly girl! Why did you have to come all this way? Do you know how much your aunt missed you? Your aunt was so worried about you, do you know that!"

Hearing her words, Sang Yan's nose tingled with tears. She hugged her third aunt and nodded, saying, "Auntie, I know, I understand. I will never leave you again, Auntie, please don't worry."

"You silly girl! How can this be? Your aunt is counting on you to find a good family to marry into soon." The third aunt said, cupping Sangyan's face and looking her up and down. "Let your aunt take a look, you've lost weight."

Sang Yan reached out and took her third aunt's hand, holding it tightly in her palm: "Aunt, this is not the place to talk. Let's go back and talk."

"Okay, okay, okay." Third Aunt nodded repeatedly: "Auntie also made you your favorite pig's feet soup. Go back now."

The two returned to the third concubine's courtyard, and Sang Yan dismissed everyone around her and closed the door...
