Zhuang Yan pressed on, asking, "Then do you know what a tree hole is?"
Lu Yan: "I don't know."
This is strange. Zhuang Yan showed her the software that he had recently repaired and was only halfway done: "It's this chat software. Doesn't anyone at your school use it?"
"I'm busy studying every day, I don't have time to play on my phone."
After losing her memory, Lu Yan was clearly not used to her current environment. She was curious about everything and insisted on being discharged from the hospital.
Aside from the amnesia, there didn't seem to be any other problems. After staying in the hospital for three days, the doctor said I could be discharged.
Zhuang Yan took Lu Yan home from the hospital. He wanted to take her to places she was familiar with, hoping it might stimulate her brain and remind her of something.
To be honest, he didn't know how to get along with Lu Yan, whose memories were only from when she was 15 years old. He always felt that she was just a middle school student.
For example, the first thing she did after being discharged from the hospital was to buy a set of practice books at a nearby bookstore, saying that she wanted to go back and review her lessons to prepare for the high school entrance exam.
"You are 27 years old now, not 15. The high school entrance exam is over."
Did I do well on my high school entrance exam?
"Great, you've been admitted to the city's top high school, and your tuition is waived."
"That's great!" Lu Yan couldn't hide her joy and jumped up like a child. "What about my university?"
Zhuang Yan told Lu Yan everything she knew, such as that Lu Yan had been admitted to a very good university, established a large company, had a lot of money, and held a high position.
Upon hearing these words, Lu Yan felt as if she were in a dream, as if it were all unreal.
"What about the Lu family?"
"Lu Nanjun is dead, and Lu Yu is in prison."
"Did I do it?" Fifteen-year-old Lu Yan hated everyone in the Lu family and only thought about revenge, so she never thought that she would like someone, especially a man who was three years younger than her.
Lu Yan asked again, "Why do I like you?" It was clear that she really cared about this, because dating and marriage were not in her plans at all. What she wondered was what ability this person had to make her change her plans.
"Maybe it's because I'm handsome..." Zhuang Yan rarely indulged in narcissism.
Lu Yan frowned, hummed twice, and asked again, "Then why do you like me?"
Zhuang Yan gave examples: "There are many, such as your gentle and generous nature, your understanding, and your special ability to be charming..."
Lu Yan quickly interrupted, "Are you talking about me?"
"At least that's how you are with me."
Lu Yan suddenly fell silent, her head lowered, her ears turning red.
"What do you want to eat today? I'll make it for you."
"Whatever."
"Then I'll make your favorite braised noodles with green beans and pork ribs."
Zhuang Yan picked Lu Yan up and took her home. Along the way, she looked around like a curious child.
"Let's watch TV in the living room for a while, I'll go cook."
Lu Yan looked around at the surroundings, which were filled with the atmosphere of their life together. The shoes were her size, the clothes in the wardrobe were her favorite styles, and there were photos everywhere in the room. She stared blankly at herself in the photos. Could she really smile so happily after so many years?
On the surface, she refused to accept that Zhuang Yan was her boyfriend, but in her heart she had to admit that Zhuang Yan was really good to her; he could tell what she wanted just by looking at her expression.
Zhuang Yan realized she didn't know how to turn on the TV, so he turned it on for her.
He cooked in the kitchen while she gradually adjusted to her surroundings. When he came out after finishing the meal, he found Lu Yan writing an exam paper on the coffee table.
"The doctor told you to get some rest."
Lu Yan put down her pen: "I can't calm my mind if I don't do the problems." She was afraid that she would regress if she relaxed.
Zhuang Yan didn't try to persuade him further. The doctor also said to follow her pace and not put pressure on her.
Zhuang Yan took a close look at Lu Yan's test paper. She was doing high school level questions, and her handwriting was different from before she lost her memory.
Lu Yan was used to writing in running script, but the characters on the exam paper were in neat regular script.
After scanning the entire problem, Zhuang Yan pointed to one of the questions and said, "The formula here is wrong."
Lu Yan's eyes were full of curiosity. Zhuang Yan squatted down, took the pen from her hand, and explained it to her on the draft.
Lu Yan is very smart; she learns quickly and can apply what she learns to other situations.
"Aren't you only in the final year of junior high? How are you doing high school level questions?"
"The material for the third year of junior high has been covered quite well, and I want to preview it in advance."
"Ask me if you don't know, and I'll teach you."
Lu Yan finally smiled at him.
"But now, let's eat first." Zhuang Yan mixed the noodles, which looked and smelled delicious, and the aroma alone was enough to whet one's appetite.
Lu Yan wasn't hungry at first, but suddenly she felt ravenous. When she came back after washing her hands, Zhuang Yan had already mixed the noodles.
I knew she didn't like cilantro, so I didn't put it in the noodles.
She held her chopsticks and ate heartily, like a little hamster in an animation.
Zhuang Yan habitually took care of her, for example, when he saw her hair covering her face, he would reach out and smooth it for her. But as soon as he touched her, Lu Yan would glare at him like a startled rabbit.
"Your hair is about to fall into the bowl." Zhuang Yan handed her the hair tie on her wrist.
When the weather gets cold, Lu Yan doesn't like to tie her hair up. Her hair can be used as a scarf to keep warm, but the only inconvenience is when eating. Therefore, Zhuang Yan always carries a hair tie with him.
After dinner, Zhuang Yan helped Lu Yan with her homework. She left the questions she didn't know how to answer blank and asked Zhuang Yan to teach her.
They studied until 9:30. Even Zhuang Yan couldn't keep up with such intense studying. If he didn't stop, Lu Yan would probably study all night.
Zhuang Yan reminded him: "You've learned enough for today, it's time to wash up and go to bed."
Lu Yan asked cautiously, "Where am I supposed to sleep?"
"You can sleep in the master bedroom, I'll sleep in the next room."
There was a bathroom in the master bedroom. Lu Yan locked the door as soon as she entered the bedroom. Looking at the pink fox on the bed that seemed out of place, she felt a pang of emotion.
She looked at the tablet in the room, unlocked it with facial recognition, and awkwardly searched for information about the economic development over the past twelve years.
The hospital diagnosed her with amnesia, with her memory stuck at age 15, but she felt that she had traveled to twelve years later.
