Chapter 100 is absolutely brutal.

That's too brutal.

That's terrifying.

Now I finally understand why Lu Yan called Zhuang Yan away beforehand; she was afraid of scaring him.

Lu Yan clearly had some training in beating people; she was incredibly strong, and this was only after she had held back. If she hadn't, she probably could have killed Xia Wan.

After all, this is a society governed by the rule of law, and with so many people watching, Lu Yan naturally couldn't bring herself to kill him.

The others reacted quickly, rushing forward to stop Xia Wan after seeing her being unilaterally beaten by Lu Yan.

"As her aunt, I discipline her for her own good. With her personality, she's likely to suffer in the outside world. If a child doesn't have proper upbringing from a young age, society will teach them a lesson when they grow up, and it will be too late to regret it then."

To put it simply, I'm educating the younger generation; you should refrain from interfering.

Seeing that Lu Yan stopped making any more moves, the staff didn't approach her, but instead secretly texted the director to ask when he would arrive.

Only Gu Qian went up. He first looked at Xia Wan's face, and then looked at Lu Yan: "She is your niece, how could you beat her like this? We have to record a program tomorrow, how are we supposed to record it now?"

"I see." Lu Yan thought for a moment, then snapped her fingers. "Then you guys should just stop recording and go back now."

Gu Qian's face darkened: Who do you think you are? You think you can just tell us to go back? Does the director listen to you?

Gu Qian wanted to help Xia Wan up, but after taking just one step, he felt a chill on his body. Then he looked up and met Lu Yan's sinister eyes.

He was so frightened that he dared not go forward, and even broke out in a cold sweat because of a single glance from the other person.

Lu Yan had no intention of letting Xia Wan go, so naturally she wouldn't allow anyone to take her away.

It must be said that the eldest daughter of the Xia family still has some pride. Even after being beaten like this, she did not show weakness in her eyes when she looked at Lu Yan. Her gaze was still full of hatred, like a venomous snake in a ditch, waiting for an opportunity to strike back at any time.

No matter what kind of venomous snake it is, it's just a bedbug under Lu Yan's feet.

She didn't believe anyone could be beaten into submission. If she hadn't beaten them into submission, it only meant she hadn't beaten them hard enough! Not ruthlessly enough! She could beat them a few more times and they would be convinced.

Lu Yan chuckled, pulled her toes back, then grabbed Xia Wan's hair and yanked her up like pulling up a radish.

Xia Wan clutched her torn scalp, letting out a cry of pain, tears streaming down her face, mixed with humiliation. She hated Lu Yan to death; she wanted nothing more than to skin her alive, break her bones, disfigure her, and grind her bones to dust! She was determined to kill her, to make her wish she were dead!

Lu Yan raised an eyebrow. She liked Xia Wan's defiant gaze; that made the fight more interesting.

Xia Wan tried to stand up, but Lu Yan suddenly kicked her in the back of the leg, forcing her to kneel down.

Lu Yan pressed down on her head to prevent her from getting up: "Xia Wan, don't test my tolerance. If I can hit you once in front of them, I can hit you a second time!"

“Watch your mouth when you talk about my mom in the future. If it weren’t for her raising your mom, she would have died in some remote mountain village long ago. Where would you be now? Her death anniversary is in a couple of days. She probably heard you saying those things to her. I advise you not to go out these next few nights, or she might come after you.”

As Lu Yan finished speaking, a cold wind swept by. Xia Wan felt the cold wind blowing down her neck, and the streetlights swayed.

Xia Wan's face turned pale, and a sense of lingering fear rose in her heart.

"And Zhuang Yan, he's going to be your aunt's husband, so show him some respect when you see him in the future."

Xia Wan gritted her teeth: "You're dreaming!"

Lu Yan laughed out loud: "Little niece, you should change your bad habit of wanting more than you have. No one will coax you forever. You've already lost the watermelon for a sesame seed. Don't lose the sesame seed in the end." She glanced at Gu Qian meaningfully.

Lu Yan spoke very softly, in a voice only the two of them could hear.

After saying this, Lu Yan released Xia Wan's hair and looked at her lying on the ground like a lump of mud.

Lu Yan straightened her coat and patted off the dust: Luckily, her clothes weren't dirty.

He glanced indifferently at the others, noticing a hint of panic on their faces; some even took a step back.

Fortunately, the filming was already over, otherwise her carefully maintained good image would have collapsed.

"I'll head back now; you can handle things here."

Lu Yan beat Xia Wan for no more than ten minutes, which was just the right amount of time. If it had lasted any longer, Xia Wan would have been sweating.

Lu Yan ran towards the cottage and saw Zhuang Yan as soon as she entered the courtyard.

“Zhuang Yan”.

"Is everything resolved? Nothing bad happened, right? Did she yell at you again?"

“It’s all settled. It was just teaching a junior a lesson, no big deal.” Lu Yan walked towards Zhuang Yan and spread her hands. “I accidentally hit the wall with my hand just now, look, it’s all red.”

To ensure better filming, many lights were left in the courtyard, providing ample illumination. When Zhuang Yan looked at Lu Yan's palm, it was indeed red.

"How could it have accidentally hit the wall?"

"I tripped and fell and lost my balance." Lu Yan lied without flinching, asking for comfort with a straight face, "Can you blow on it for me? Blow on it and it won't hurt so much."

Although he was standing in the courtyard, the walls were not soundproof, and since he wasn't deaf, he could still hear some of the noise outside.

He heard Lu Yan give Xia Wan a severe scolding.

So it goes without saying how she got so famous. Zhuang Yan didn't expose Lu Yan's lie. Today is her birthday, so he should go along with her and make her happy.

Lu Yan just wanted to tease Zhuang Yan. He was introverted and definitely wouldn't do something like blowing on her hands.

So after she finished speaking, she prepared to withdraw her hand.

Unexpectedly, Zhuang Yan actually grabbed her wrist. As she watched his face getting closer and closer, Lu Yan's heart pounded wildly, and time seemed to stand still.

A cool sensation spread through my palm, a slight itch that made me want to grab it.

Lu Yan moved her fingertips, her hand involuntarily clenching into an empty fist.

When Zhuang Yan leaned down to touch her hand, it was as if he was kissing her fingertips.

Lu Yan couldn't help but feel a tickle in her heart. In the past, she would deliberately get close to Zhuang Yan to tease him, but today it was the other way around.

Zhuang Yan looked up and saw Lu Yan's misty eyes. He released her hand and asked, "Are you feeling better?"

"If I said I need a kiss from you to get better, would you kiss me?" Lu Yan quickly found a way to retaliate.

Zhuang Yan said seriously, "If that's the case, then I'll take you to the hospital so the doctor can examine your hands properly, and also check my mouth to see why it has the effect of healing and relieving pain."

Lu Yan's eyes crinkled with laughter. This was the happiest birthday she had ever had since her mother's death.

"Zhuang Yan, if Xia Wan continues to scold me in the future, what will you do..."

"I'll help you yell back!"
