Chapter 103 Zhuang Yan's Dreamy Wandering

Zhuang Yan is much more reassuring; he is broad-minded and understanding.

As for arranging rooms, it has to be done, since Zhuang Yan's place is the only place I can sleep.

Gu Qian had to come in the middle of the night, so there was no time to arrange a room for him. He had to stay with Zhuang Yan.

I wonder if these two sworn enemies will actually fight.

Even passersby thought Gu Qian deserved to be beaten for what he did. Fortunately, Zhuang Yan seemed emotionally stable and gentle, and didn't look like someone who would fight.

The director, seeing that things were going well, decided not to force the two of them to stay together indefinitely: "Tomorrow morning, you can discuss changing rooms with Ling Xuan and Fang Chen. Just make do with this place tonight."

Zhuang Yan said generously, "Director, don't worry, we will definitely get along well."

The director, who was in his forties, beamed with joy, thinking with satisfaction: Zhuang Yan is such a good kid. After the show ends, I'll definitely give him a bigger share of the money.

There's really nothing to worry about. After all, they're still recording a show, and they'll be mindful of their image in front of the camera, so they won't show any grudge, no matter how big.

The director was increasingly satisfied with Zhuang Yan, patted him on the shoulder, and left.

Zhuang Yan's smile remained warm as he looked at Gu Qian and said, "Let's go, I'll take you inside."

Zhuang Yan's room looks bigger than the other rooms because he has fewer things and is good at tidying up, so the room is spacious and naturally appears larger.

Gu Qian went in and saw that there were no extra beds, only a large bed in the middle.

"Didn't the director say there were extra beds?"

Zhuang Yan sat on the edge of the bed and patted it: "Yes, it's a double bed."

When he first moved in, he found it strange that such a big bed would be arranged in a perfectly good single room.

It seems the director had planned this all along, intending to create a comedic moment.

There were no laughs; Zhuang Yan only sensed the director's wicked sense of humor in trying to cause trouble.

Unfortunately, Gu Qian disrupted the director's plan. In the original plan, Gu Qian and Xia Wan were supposed to appear during the day.

Live streaming during the day allows viewers to enjoy the spectacle, and this segment is sure to be very popular.

Who knew that Gu Qian and Xia Wan wouldn't listen to the arrangements at all. They were told to come during the day, but they insisted on coming here in the early hours of the morning when everyone was asleep.

The director also had to get up in the middle of the night to arrange accommodations for them. An Xinrong and Xia Wan were fine, since they had known each other for so long and had a good relationship, so it didn't matter if they slept in the same bed.

But Zhuang Yan and Gu Qian are different...

Gu Qian had a blank expression. He and Zhuang Yan had a grudge. It was fine to share a room, but what was going on with sleeping in the same bed?

Both men are over 180cm tall, so even if the bed is big, it can't be much bigger. If they turn over, there might even be physical contact.

Why is there only this one bed?

"Just make do with this. It's only for one night anyway. We can ask the director to change the beds tomorrow." Zhuang Yan didn't seem to care and treated Gu Qian quite well, as if he didn't take him seriously.

Gu Qian, however, became wary. In his opinion, Zhuang Yan shouldn't be so calm towards him. After all, he had ruined his engagement party, and Zhuang Yan's annulment and being kicked out of the house were indirectly related to him. Now he had become the second young master of the Zhuang family, although it was an official recognition, he had already signed a property transfer agreement.

Zhuang Yan has been locked up here recording the show all day without a cell phone, so he probably doesn't know what's happening outside. If he did know that he had recognized his parents as his godparents, would he still be as calm as he is now?

Gu Qian was somewhat expectant.

He decided to test Zhuang Yan first: "Zhuang Yan, your parents miss you very much. When I came this time, they repeatedly told me to call you back. They are quite worried about you at home. Your godfather and godmother are getting old and their health is not good. You should be more understanding of them and care more about their health. No parent doesn't love their child. Don't hold a grudge against them."

Zhuang Yan found it somewhat amusing, but didn't show it on his face.

"We won't talk about things outside of the show. It's getting late, and I have to get up early to cook tomorrow, so I'll go to bed now." Zhuang Yan quickly wiped her face with cold water, rinsed her feet, and went to bed.

Gu Qian stood by the bed: You're asleep, but what about me?

He felt quite uncomfortable sharing a bed with Zhuang Yan.

This wasn't the first time he'd met Zhuang Yan. Not long after he returned to China, he'd learned that Xia Wan had a clingy fiancé. He first met Zhuang Yan at a charity banquet. As one of the organizers, Zhuang Yan sat in the front row, enjoying immense prestige, which made Gu Qian, sitting in the back, grit his teeth in envy.

They met a few more times after that, and he tried to talk to him, wanting to brag about his past with Xia Wan, but he never found an opportunity.

Zhuang Yan may have known of his existence, but he simply didn't take him seriously.

Even if a driver's son makes a name for himself in the entertainment industry and becomes a popular idol, an actor is still just an actor, a product packaged by capitalists and businessmen. It's normal that he's not taken seriously.

But things are different now. Gu Qian looked at Zhuang Yan, who had already closed his eyes and fallen asleep—the person he looked down on had now taken over his life.

Gu Qian packed his luggage, deliberately making a lot of noise in an attempt to disturb Zhuang Yan.

No matter how much he tried to move, Zhuang Yan remained motionless on the bed, as if he had already fallen asleep.

Gu Qian scoffed, "Sleeping like a pig."

He took his clothes outside to wash up, and by the time he finished, it was almost two o'clock. He took a hot shower and came out feeling quite tired.

He hasn't had a break in the last two days. Not to mention Zhuang Zhongming, he's gone crazy without anyone to take care of him. Tang Jing herself is a madwoman, and she's been running around looking after these two madmen, which has caused her to suffer from neurasthenia.

Arriving here felt like escaping a cage, and I felt completely relaxed.

Sure enough, this money wasn't so easy to get. I wish Tang Jing and Zhuang Zhongming would die sooner. Why aren't they dead yet?

Gu Qian rummaged through the closet but only found a light quilt, not enough to make a sleeping mat on the floor.

Looks like I'll have to make do with sleeping with Zhuang Yan tonight. I must get the director to change the bed tomorrow.

Fortunately, Zhuang Yan is a good sleeping posture and lies on his side against the wall, giving him a large empty space.

After hesitating for a moment, Gu Qian went to bed. He was so tired that he felt like he could fall asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.

Gu Qian glanced at the time: 2:30. He leaned against the bedside, turned off the light, lay flat, closed his eyes, and fell asleep in less than half a minute.

He was probably too tired, because he started snoring after falling asleep.

In the darkness, Zhuang Yan suddenly opened his eyes. He slowly turned around and looked at Gu Qian beside him, a dangerous glint flashing in his dark eyes.

He sat up silently, then pounced on Gu Qian, covered his head with the blanket, and gave him a silent beating.

The blows were fierce and powerful, each punch landing squarely. Gu Qian had just fallen asleep when he was woken up, and he was nearly knocked out of his wits.

He screamed and tried to resist, but the blankets bound his body, making it impossible for him to struggle.

A hoarse, raspy voice escaped his throat: "Zhuang Yan, you fucking stop hitting me!"

Zhuang Yan remained silent, as if sleepwalking, completely oblivious to what was happening, raising his fist and repeating the same action.
