Chapter 135 First Signs

The next morning, Nan Wusi woke up in bed, somewhat puzzled. "Could I have been dreaming last night?"

However, she noticed that the dagger had been moved, and realized that she wasn't dreaming; Xiao Yi had really come last night.

"Ye Zi," Nan Wusi called out towards the door.

"Miss, you're awake." Ye Zi walked in carrying a glass of water.

"What time is it now?"

"It's Chen Shi now, Miss, won't you sleep a little longer?" Ye Zi had thought Nan Wusi would sleep a little longer after traveling so much these past few days.

"I'm not going to sleep anymore, I have to go out in a bit." Nan Wusi got up and washed up.

After paying her respects to her grandmother, Nan Wusi took Ye Zi with her and went out. She first went to the Prime Minister's residence.

Namo thought that he hadn't seen Xinxi for so long, and he would definitely be very happy to see her soon.

However, when Nan Wusi arrived at the Prime Minister's residence, the gatekeeper said that Ouyang Xinxi was not in the residence. When Nan Wusi asked when Xinxi would return to the residence and where she had gone, the gatekeeper replied that he did not know.

So Nan Wusi had no choice but to leave a message, telling Ouyang Xinxi to go find her when she returned.

After leaving the Prime Minister's residence, Nan Wusi headed towards Ouyang Jiangli's shop. She wanted to see what Ouyang Jiangli was trying to do by opening two shops to squeeze out her business.

Nan Wusi first went to Lirenfang. After entering the store, she found that the styles of Lirenfang's clothes were exactly the same as those of Lanyifang, and even the decoration of the entire store was very similar to that of Lanyifang.

Nan Wusi touched the quality of these clothes and found that they were almost the same as those from Lan Yi Fang.

Nan Wusi summoned the maids in the shop and inquired about the prices of the clothes. He discovered that the shop's sales method was exactly the same as Lan Yi Fang's, and the prices were even cheaper.

If both stores sell exactly the same items, and one is cheaper, the people will naturally prefer to buy clothes from Lirenfang.

No wonder there were almost no customers in Lan Yi Fang; it was all because of Ouyang Jiangli's tricks. However, Nan Wusi never expected that Ouyang Jiangli would do something so disgusting.

Nan Wusi then went to another jewelry store and found that the styles there were very similar to those in his own store, but the fineness of these pieces was not as good as those in his own store.

After comparing the two stores, Nan Wusi finally had a better understanding of the situation.

However, Nan Wusi couldn't understand how Ouyang Jiangli could make all his clothes and jewelry exactly the same.

After visiting both shops, Nan Wusi returned to Lan Yi Fang.

Upon seeing Nan Wusi, Tiger's mother immediately stepped forward to greet him: "Manager Nan, have you gone to check on those two shops?"

"Hmm." Nan Wusi nodded and said to Hu Zi's mother, "Sister Fang, I want to ask you a few questions."

"Go ahead and ask," Tiger's mother said directly.

Have you visited those two stores?

"Yes, I did go see it," Tiger's mother admitted.

"So what's your opinion on these items in their store?"

“These two stores have items that are extremely similar to the styles in our store, some even exactly the same, but I really don’t understand how they did it,” Tiger’s mother honestly answered Nan Wusi’s question.

"Has anything strange happened recently? For example, some customers lingered for a long time but didn't buy anything, while others tried on every style?" Nan Wusi could only speculate.

After listening, Tiger's mother thought about it carefully for a long time, and then shook her head.

"Manager Nan, before Lirenfang opened, there were almost no customers like this. Even if there were customers who tried on items for a long time and tried on every single one, they would still end up buying them."

"Have you ever noticed how long the time difference is between when Lirenfang releases its new styles and when we do?"

“I wasn’t sure before, but I’ve sent people to inquire over the past two months. It’s almost like we release a new style one day, and they release theirs the next day, and they even have more clothes than we do,” Tiger’s mother replied.

"How could this be?" Nan Wusi frowned. Could it be that Lirenfang knew about the design while Lanyifang was making the clothes?

However, only Xiao Yi's weaving workshop and a few tailors had the design drawings for this garment.

"Has there been any change in the amount that the weaving workshop and those tailors have to hand over each month?" Nan Wusi suddenly thought of something.

"Does Manager Nan suspect that they bribed these people and then stole the finished garment designs?"

“Exactly.” Nan Wusi nodded.

"The weaving workshop's monthly output is always the same, so it's hard to tell. As for the tailors, it seems that some of them only submit a few pieces each month." Tiger's mother exclaimed in surprise, "Could it be them?"

"It's possible, but we'll only know after an investigation." Nan Wusi couldn't just conclude that someone had leaked her blueprints based on this alone.

"Even if clothing can reveal the blueprints, how could jewelry possibly be?" Nan Wusi was puzzled. She had redeemed all the jewelry directly through the system and had not been handed over to anyone else.

Unable to figure it out for the time being, Nan Wusi stopped dwelling on it. The most urgent task was to find out about the leak of Lan Yi Fang's blueprints.

"Did you give them the designs this month?" Nan Wusi asked Tiger's mother. Before leaving, she had given Tiger's mother many designs, asking her to bring out some new styles to sell every now and then, so as to keep things fresh.

"Yes, we gave them to them. We gave them several new styles this month, and the delivery time will be in a few days," Tiger's mother replied.

"Tell me in detail which tailor shop corresponds to which pattern," Nan Wusi decided to go and see for himself.

So Tiger's mother showed Nan Wusi the blueprints she had taken out during this period, and explained in detail when they were given and which tailor shop they were given to.

After understanding the situation, Nan Wusi took Ye Zi to check out those tailor shops.

Upon arriving at the first shop, Nanwusi found the tailor sewing a garment based on a design.

The tailor's momentary panic upon seeing Nan Wusi was caught by Nan Wusi's keen observation.

"Manager Nan, what brings you here?"

“Tailor Li, don’t be nervous. I just heard from Sister Fang that it’s almost time for you to deliver the goods. I just got back to the capital and have nothing to do, so I thought I’d come and take a look.” Nan Wusi answered Tailor Li’s question while glancing at his surroundings out of the corner of his eye.

She discovered that the clothes were packed in two different bags.

Nan Wusi wanted to step forward to check, but Li the tailor stopped her.

"Manager Nan, it's not time yet. I'll deliver it directly to Lanyi Shop once it's done. You don't need to make the trip yourself."

Nan Wusi's expression turned cold. "Li Tailor, why are you stopping me? Are you afraid I'll discover something?"

"Hehe, Manager Nan is joking. I just feel that it's a bit inappropriate for Manager Nan to casually inspect the goods in my shop." Although Li the tailor had a smile on his face, he didn't budge an inch.

"If Li Tailor didn't have something to hide, would he be afraid of me checking him?" Nan Wusi looked at Li Tailor with cold eyes.
