On the third day, everyone headed toward the royal hunting grounds outside the city.
The hunting grounds were some distance from the capital, and it took about half a day to reach them.
The officials who came to the hunting grounds were mostly men. Apart from the emperor, who brought his concubines, there were only two other women, Wu Qingzi and Nan Wusi.

So the four of them, armed, went straight into the mountains and forests.
For everyone's safety and to ensure the quality of tomorrow's prey, only the outer perimeter of the hunting grounds was opened today, with only some small and weak prey, which were just right for dinner.
When Nan Wusi and his group entered the hunting grounds, a large group of people had already gone in, all of whom were hunting for their dinner.
Nan Wusi and his group chose a direction that looked less crowded and headed straight for the innermost part of the area, checking for any signs of prey as they went.
With their strength, hunting these small prey was more than enough. However, Nan Wusi went deeper into the hunting grounds to observe them in advance and prepare for tomorrow.
After wandering around the hunting grounds, Nan Wusi and his companions caught two rabbits, a pheasant, and a snake.
At that time, Nan Wusi was almost bitten by the snake, but fortunately Wu Qingyuan was quick-witted and killed the snake.
