“If you want to participate, we will.” Xiao Yi sensed the expectation in Nan Wusi’s tone, so he naturally wouldn’t refuse.
"Excuse me, sir, how can we participate?" Nan Wusi asked.
"Just come over at 7 PM tonight," the handsome young man said with a smile.
"Okay, thank you." Nan Wusi thanked the handsome young man.
"You're welcome." The handsome young man smiled and waved his hand, then went to recommend it to the other people.
"There's still an hour until 7 PM, so where should we go?" Nan Wusi looked around and found that many vendors had already packed up their stalls, so there was nothing for them to browse.
"Are you tired from walking? Would you like to find a place to sit down?" Xiao Yi suggested.
“Okay, I’m a bit tired too.” Nan Wusi nodded. “I remember there’s a teahouse up ahead, why don’t we go sit there for a while?”
"Okay." Xiao Yi nodded, letting Nan Wusi pull him forward.
They arrived at the teahouse and booked a private room on the second floor. Just as they sat down, Nan Wusi suddenly remembered something.
"Oh no, Xiao Yi, you haven't changed your contact lenses yet." You've been out all day, and it's probably well past the optimal time to wear them.
"Hmm." Xiao Yi then realized that he hadn't felt much pain. Although his eyes had recovered, he only remembered to remove his colored contact lenses when he went to sleep; during the day, he was almost indistinguishable from before when he was blind.
The only difference is that when he was blind, he couldn't feel light, but now, although he still can't see anything even with colored contact lenses, he can feel light.
"Oh dear, didn't I tell you to remember to replace it? How can you have such a bad memory?" Nan Wusi nagged at Xiao Yi, truly showing no regard for his eyes.
Xiao Yi smiled happily upon hearing Nan Wusi's caring scolding, because he felt a warmth in his heart. He knew that Nan Wusi was worried about him.
"You're still laughing!" Nan Wusi scolded playfully, "Are you wearing colored contact lenses?"
"I didn't bring it." Xiao Yi hadn't even thought about it; how could he possibly have brought colored contact lenses with him?
"Hmph, luckily I had the foresight to bring it for you." Nan Wusi lied without batting an eye. Well, no, this wasn't lying, since she had brought the entire system with her and could access it at any time.
Then Nan Wusi took out a box of colored contact lenses from his pocket.
Fortunately, this box of contact lenses was very small, so even if Nan Wusi took it out, it wouldn't give her away. If it were a larger item, she really wouldn't be able to explain where it came from.
Although Xiao Yi wouldn't ask, she would still feel guilty.
Fortunately, they wanted a private room. Although the windowsill was open and you could see downstairs, if it were closed, no one could see down from the outside.
After closing the window, Nan Wusi told Xiao Yi to take off his colored contact lenses and change them himself.
These contact lenses are daily disposable, so they can just be thrown away. However, to avoid arousing suspicion, they won't just throw them away after using them; they'll keep them carefully and deal with them later.
After Xiao Yi removed his colored contact lenses, his dark, bright eyes were revealed once again, enhancing his good looks. Nan Wusi felt she was about to fall for him.
Xiao Yi also took this opportunity to get a good look at Nan Wusi, since he didn't have many chances to see her now, and even if it was just for a short time, he wanted to keep watching her.
Xiao Yi sat down in the chair, reached out and pulled Nan Wusi into his arms, whispering in her ear, "Sisi, I just can't get enough of looking at you."
"Xiao Yi." Nan Wusi looked up at Xiao Yi and said seriously, "Then you must live well, there is still a long time ahead."
"I will live well for you." Xiao Yi nodded. He knew that what he was about to do was dangerous, and Nan Wusi knew it too.
No one knows what unexpected events might occur in the future, and no one is certain who will have the last laugh in this power struggle.
The reason why Xiao Yi can still be with Nan Wusi safely is because he has not yet been exposed, so he wants to greedily enjoy these last precious moments.
Neither of them spoke after that, and Xiao Yi changed his contact lenses again.
Although his technique was rather clumsy, he managed to put it on successfully. If he practiced for a while longer, Xiao Yi's technique would likely become quite proficient.
After Xiao Yi changed his contact lenses, Nan Wusi opened the window.
Just then, I overheard the storyteller saying, "To be honest, there are quite a few strange and wonderful things happening in the capital."
"Some time ago, a friend of mine went to the capital to make a living. Looking around, hey, the streets were full of beautiful women."
"At that moment, my friend even thought he had stumbled into a fairyland."
"To be honest, my friend is quite good-looking, so when he saw a woman he liked, he went up to her and started a conversation. Unexpectedly, the woman was also very poised and quickly became acquainted with my friend."
"After spending a few days together, my friend confessed his feelings, and the fairy immediately agreed. My friend was overjoyed."
He took out all the money he had earned from working over the past few days and treated his sweetheart to a nice meal at a restaurant.
"What happened next was unexpected and horrifying."
Nan Wusi was also captivated by the storyteller's fascinating tale. She wanted to hear what would happen next, which was quite astonishing.
"The two of them went to Chunfenglou, the largest restaurant in the capital. They sat in the main hall, which was packed that day. The waiter was so busy that he tripped over someone and accidentally spilled the soup he was holding onto the fairy."
"Fortunately, the soup wasn't too hot, so the person was fine. But the fairy was so frightened that she covered her face and ran away. My friend is quite agile, but he couldn't catch up with her."
"And so my friend lost track of his sweetheart. He didn't see her for several days. This really worried my friend. He was unwilling to give up on the happy life he thought he could have, so he went to the address his sweetheart had told him about."
"When he arrived, he suddenly remembered that he was just a poor scholar. If he went to her door rashly, he might be beaten up as a lecher. So he asked the neighbors on the street about his sweetheart."
"That question, well, that's when the problem arose."
"The lady that the neighbors know is not the same person my friend described at all!"
"So my friend started to suspect he'd been scammed, but then he discovered that everything else his sweetheart had said matched up perfectly. It was really strange."
"However, he carefully memorized what the young lady of the mansion looked like, as described by the neighbors."
