Chapter 206 The Decisive Battle

The two kissed for a long time, until Nan Wusi was almost out of breath, at which point she gently patted Xiao Yi's chest.

Xiao Yi was very reluctant to let Nan Wusi go. Although he was seen as a playboy by outsiders, who frequented brothels, he had never actually touched any woman.

Only then did he finally understand what it meant to be unable to resist a beautiful woman in one's arms. If the timing hadn't been wrong, he would have really wanted to devour Nan Wusi alive and melt her into his own bones and blood.

"Cough." Nan Wusi felt the hard object pressing against him and moved slightly away from Xiao Yi.

After their passionate kiss, both of them were moved, but they both knew that now was not the right time.

Nan Wusi's face was flushed with a peach blossom color, making her look charming and alluring. Xiao Yi was now somewhat grateful that he had regained his sight and was able to see this beauty in the world.

"Sisi, wait for me tomorrow. I will never let you marry anyone else." Xiao Yi calmed himself down a bit and hugged Nan Wusi tightly again.

The woman before him was the love of his life, and he would never let her go.

"Yes, I'll wait for you." Nan Wusi rested her delicate chin on Xiao Yi's shoulder, completely trusting his words.

The next day, the wedding procession was enormous, with the procession alone taking up the entire street.

Xiao Mu rode a tall horse at the head of the wedding procession. A long line of onlookers gathered around.

In the center of the wedding procession, palace maids distributed various celebratory cigarettes and candies to the onlookers on both sides of the street. Some lucky ones even received some silver coins and red envelopes.

The people who benefited from this were naturally overjoyed, and their mouths were full of blessings for the bride and groom.

The road from the palace to the general's mansion was not long, and even though Xiao Mu deliberately slowed down, he quickly arrived at the entrance of the general's mansion.

Nan Wusi was woken up early by the palace maids and nannies sent by Xiao Mu, and sleepily let them dress her up.

Nan Wusi glanced at his reflection in the mirror in a daze and was immediately jolted awake by how ugly he looked.

The palace maids and nannies beside her kept praising the bride for her natural beauty and unparalleled looks.

However, Nan Wusi let them dress her up as they pleased. It was just a game, and she didn't care about her appearance at all.

However, she did not expect that Xiao Mu would put on such a full act, as if he truly loved her to the bone, and all the rituals and customs were handled according to the standards of a formal marriage to the Crown Princess.

While complaining under the veil, Nanwusi had no choice but to comply; it wasn't time to turn against him yet.

At the same time, she was praying in her heart that Xiao Yi would come to rescue her soon, because she really couldn't hold on any longer.

However, Xiao Yi did not appear even after they arrived at the palace.

Upon entering the palace, they were required to perform the kowtow ceremony before the emperor and empress. The invited ministers would then observe the ceremony from this location.

"Third Sister." Nan Wusi heard Nan Wuyu's voice as she passed by a minister.

Nan Wusi paused, a surge of joy rising within her. Thankfully, her second brother was unharmed. However, hidden beneath her veil, she couldn't see that there was another person beside Nan Wuyu, holding a knife to his waist.

Throughout the entire process, Nan Wusi acted like a tool, doing whatever the old woman supporting her said.

The phoenix crown on her head made it hard for her to breathe, and she could only hope that this torture would end soon.

After Xiao Mu and Nan Wusi finished their kowtow, they went to the East Palace, where the ministers would dine in a banquet specially prepared for them.

However, just as the two were about to bow to each other, a voice called out "Wait!" echoed throughout the entire hall.

Everyone looked toward the entrance of the main hall, where Prince Yi, who was always known for his refined and gentle demeanor, strode into the hall.

He was wearing a black cloak with a crane pattern, which was actually a special custom-made cloak that Nan Wusi made for Xiao Yi.

"You can see now?" Xiao Mu noticed Xiao Yi's eyes, which looked no different from those of an ordinary person.

"You see it very clearly." Xiao Yi's lips curled into a smile; he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

"What is the purpose of interrupting your nephew's ceremony, Imperial Uncle?" Xiao Mu asked knowingly.

"Naturally, it's for the woman I love." Xiao Yi's words were astonishing, and all the ministers in the hall were surprised. Had this Prince Yi gone mad? He was actually fighting with the Crown Prince for a woman.

"Is Imperial Uncle trying to snatch someone away?" Xiao Mu sneered, "We'll see if Imperial Uncle has the ability."

"Since I dared to come, I must have some confidence." Xiao Yi did not back down at all, and his demeanor was remarkable.

"Someone, please take the Imperial Uncle to rest," Xiao Mu called out to the guards in the hall.

Hearing the commotion, the guards moved swiftly, drawing their knives and closing in on Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi stared coldly at the guards, remaining motionless and utterly unafraid.

More guards appeared behind him, surrounding everyone in the hall.

"Prince Yi, are you planning a rebellion?" Ouyang Yan spoke first, his face full of disbelief.

"I'm not the one who's rebelling," Xiao Yi sneered, refusing to admit to this unjust accusation.

“Your guards are armed and have come to the palace gates. What else could this be but an attempt to force the emperor to abdicate?” Ouyang Yan continued to question.

"I'm saving the emperor," Xiao Yi said with a cold laugh. "Did you think the person lying in this palace was a seriously ill emperor?"

"What?!" The entire hall was shocked. The ministers, unaware of the truth, were dumbfounded and could not accept what Xiao Yi had said.

“Your Highness Prince Yi, you can’t just say things like that! Do you have any evidence?” Ouyang Yan stepped forward and shouted at Xiao Yi.

"Want evidence? That's easy. Just lift the curtain and take a look." Xiao Yi raised his eyes and looked at Ouyang Yan, who was still jumping around.
