Chapter Twelve: Caught

"Then let's sign the contract," Prince Yi gestured to the guard who had been standing to the side.

The handsome guard then pulled two contracts from his robes and placed them in front of Nan Wusi.

It turned out they came prepared, and Nan Wusi suddenly felt like she'd been tricked. However, since her expectations had been met, there was no need to worry too much, so she prepared to sign directly.

But just as she picked up the pen to sign, Prince Yi suddenly spoke up: "A pseudonym doesn't count, you know~"

Nan Wusi was startled. Had her identity been exposed? She looked up and saw the enigmatic smile on Prince Yi's lips. She could only feign ignorance and ask, "What is the meaning of this, Your Highness?"

"Since we're going to cooperate, we need to show sincerity, don't you agree?" Prince Yi suddenly stood up, his white eyes fixed on Nan Wusi, and slowly said, "Miss Nan."

"How did Your Highness recognize me?" Now that he had recognized her, Nan Wusi didn't bother pretending anymore. She sat down casually, even crossing her legs, showing no regard for being a lady.

"We met just the day before yesterday, and Miss Nan's voice left a deep impression on me." Prince Yi chuckled, then praised, "Miss Nan's voice has a unique charm."

"Damn it, is Prince Yi flirting with her?" Nan Wusi's heart started racing involuntarily. She was about to despise her own self-control; she couldn't let herself be seduced by good looks!

"I never expected to receive such praise from His Highness Prince Yi. I am deeply honored." Nan Wusi also said without any hesitation, "Now that His Highness Prince Yi knows my true identity, let's continue to discuss how to distribute it?"

"I want 50% of the proceeds." Nan Wusi gestured five with his hand, then suddenly remembered that Prince Yi couldn't see him and awkwardly lowered his hand.

Upon hearing this, Prince Yi's handsome brows furrowed. "Miss Nan, this is far too much to ask. Giving you forty percent is already out of consideration for your status."

“Your Highness is right, but I am capable of producing and selling them myself. Why must I cooperate with Your Highness?” Nan Wusi smiled confidently. “Since Your Highness wants to cooperate, you must value my continuous innovation in design. Otherwise, why insist on cooperation? You can simply produce them yourself. Don’t you agree, Your Highness?”

“Since you are so sincere about cooperating, I might as well be frank with Your Highness.” Nan Wusi took a sip of tea and began to speak slowly and deliberately, “I will also be opening clothing shops, cosmetics shops, jewelry shops, and so on. Your Highness probably already owns quite a few of these businesses, doesn’t he?”

"You seem to know quite a lot." Prince Yi chuckled lightly.

"Whether it's cooperation or competition, you need to know yourself and your enemy." Nan Wusi looked intently at Prince Yi's delicate face, wondering how someone could be so handsome.

"So, Miss Nan means she also wishes to cooperate with me in these business dealings?" Prince Yi's interest was piqued.

"Of course, I already have a plan in mind." Nan Wusi then revealed part of his plan to Prince Yi.

While the two were discussing, Nan Wufeng rushed back to the General's Mansion and went straight to Nan Wuyu's study. He pulled Nan Wuyu out while telling him everything he had seen.

Nan Wuyu panicked upon hearing this, but he quickly calmed down. Although he was going to go to the brothel with Nan Wufeng to arrest someone, he couldn't disturb his parents.

Although Nan Wuyu knew his third sister was wild and unruly, she had only ever been a bit willful and capricious, never doing anything so outrageous. He never expected her to be so bold now that their parents had returned to the capital. For now, all he could do was bring her back and give her a good scolding, hoping nothing serious would happen.

Even though the two tried their best to conceal it, their hurried manner still attracted considerable attention in the manor, and they were spotted by the old steward who happened to be passing by. Thinking that the two young masters were in such a hurry, based on his understanding, he suspected that the Third Miss had caused trouble again, so he reported the matter to Nan Tianba, who was in the training room.

After learning of this, Nan Tianba pondered for a moment and then sent someone to follow them. He hadn't returned to the capital for many years and hadn't been able to personally teach his children, so he didn't know them very well. He heard from the old steward that Nan Wusi often caused trouble, and he wanted to take this opportunity to understand his children's capacity for causing trouble.

The brothers Nan Wufeng and Nan Wuyu rushed to Xiangyun Pavilion without stopping. To avoid being seen, they specifically chose a secluded alley and climbed over the wall to enter.

Unfamiliar with the terrain, the two wandered around the courtyard for a long time without finding the right place. They grabbed a waiter at random and learned that the madam had taken a merchant-looking man to see Prince Yi.

Nan Wuyu guessed that the merchant must be his younger sister. He was anxious and wondering how he had gotten involved with Prince Yi. This was really troublesome.

Upon learning that the two young masters from the General's Mansion had barged in, Madam Yang was naturally anxious to stop them, fearing they would jeopardize Prince Yi's important plans. However, she knew that her own status was insufficient to truly stop them, so she stalled for time while speaking kindly, secretly signaling a servant to inform Prince Yi.

But such a petty trick couldn't fool Nan Wuyu. He simply had Nan Wufeng follow the waiter, and they quickly found the private room where Prince Yi was.

The two brothers, standing at the door, happened to hear Nan Wusi's voice saying, "Your Highness Prince Yi, now that we have reached an agreement, please keep the contract safe. I wish us a pleasant cooperation in the future!"

Upon hearing about the contract, the two dared not delay and rushed inside. Nan Wufeng attempted to seize the contract, but the guard turned out to be a skilled fighter. He swiftly slipped the contract into his robes and stood in front of Prince Yi.

"Big brother, second brother!" Nan Wusi looked at her two older brothers in surprise, inwardly cursing her bad luck. She hadn't expected to be caught red-handed so quickly; what a stroke of bad luck!
