Chapter Twenty: A Group of Children

Meanwhile, Xuan Li, who had been tracking Nan Wusi for a day, also reported to Xiao Yi.

"Your Highness, I have discovered that the Crown Prince has also sent people to follow Miss Nan." Xuan Li added after reporting Nan Wusi's whereabouts.

"Hmph, the Crown Prince really won't give up." Xiao Yi snorted coldly.

"Keep a close eye on both sides and report to me immediately if anything happens," Xiao Yi instructed.

"Yes, Your subordinate obeys." Xuan Li left the room in a flash.

Prince Yi, on the other hand, gazed into the distance with his white eyes, seemingly lost in thought.

Nan Wusi has been incredibly busy lately. After deciding on the clothing store, she started pestering her father for money to decorate it. Nan Tianba couldn't resist her nagging. After all, she was his daughter, so what could he do but spoil her? In the end, he contributed his own savings.

After receiving the money, Nan Wusi immediately contacted the chubby boy to get in touch with the craftsmen and discuss his decorating ideas with them. He then found a bronze mirror workshop and wanted to have several mirrors made.

"Miss, your requirements are far too high. We're finding it difficult to fulfill them," the craftsman said, looking troubled.

"Wages are not a problem, just do your best." Nan Wusi frowned, knowing that her request was a bit unreasonable in the current climate.

"But there's probably not enough time," the craftsman said again. "You need it in a really urgent way."

"When can you finish at the earliest?" Namo Si asked.

"It's really hard to estimate, but it should be around two months," the craftsman said, not daring to give a guarantee.

"Let's leave it at that for now. I'll come back to ask you about the progress later." Nan Wusi turned and left the shop, while Ye Zi handed the deposit to the craftsman.

After Nan Wusi left, the craftsman instructed his apprentice, "Close the shop. It seems we won't be able to do any other business for a while."

"Yes, Master." The apprentice knew that a big business had come in and that they would be busy for a while.

"Come on, Yezi, let's go buy some more good food." After leaving the workshop, Nan Wusi thought that it was still early today, so he could go buy some food to visit Huzi.

“Okay, what would you like to eat, Miss?” Ye Zi asked.

"Whatever, buy more, buy more of the things the kids usually like to eat."

"Oh, Miss is going to see Tiger?" Ye Zi suddenly realized.

"Hmm. Let's go buy some more clothes." Nanwu thought of the group of ragged children he had seen that day.

"Miss is so kind," Ye Zi said with admiration, while Nan Wusi smiled.

Her current behavior might be somewhat similar to the saintly behavior she used to criticize when she stayed at home reading novels. She knew that this was something the original owner would never do, but when she saw those skinny and exceptionally innocent children, she simply couldn't leave them alone.

She just wanted to do what she could to make herself feel at peace.

Before long, the two of them, carrying large and small bags, walked into the slum amidst the strange looks from the locals.

Their presence was so striking that it attracted many unwelcome glances. As they walked further in, the children they had seen earlier followed at a distance, their eyes filled with longing.

"Miss." Ye Zi was a little uneasy; she had noticed it herself.

"Don't worry, Ye Zi, with me here, no one can hurt you," Nan Wusi comforted her.

"Yes, Ye Zi believes in Miss." After saying that, Ye Zi's anxiety dissipated a lot. She knew that her young lady was highly skilled in martial arts and would not be afraid of these people.

Perhaps because Nan Wusi, though a woman, did not appear to be someone to be trifled with, the person with ill intentions only followed from a distance without making any other moves, so the two arrived at Hu Zi's house without any danger.

"Sister Nan!" Hu Zi exclaimed in surprise as he opened the door.

"Tiger, have you missed your sister?" Nan Wusi asked as she entered the room, piling all her things onto the table.

"Of course I wanted to!" Tiger said, his eyes shining as he looked at the things Nan Wusi had brought. "Sister, are all these for Tiger?"

"Yes and no," Nan Wusi said, keeping everyone in suspense.

"Huh?" Tiger was also puzzled.

"Tiger, you can call all your friends over, everyone will get some," Nan Wusi said with a smile.

"Okay, I'll go call him right away." With that, Tiger dashed out.

Nan Wusi smiled helplessly and shook her head; Hu Zi was also an impatient person. She then went into the inner room to see Hu Zi's mother.

"Miss Nan," Tiger's mother called out gratefully, sitting up in bed and preparing to get out.

"Just sit still," Nan Wusi said, reaching out to support her. "Are you feeling better now?"

"Thanks to Miss Nan, I'm much better now. I feel like I'll be fully recovered in a few more days." Tiger's mother smiled, and some color returned to her previously pale face.

"That's good then." Nan Wusi nodded.

"Miss Nan has gone to so much trouble again. How can my son and I possibly accept this again?" Tiger's mother said. She had also overheard the conversation between Nan Wusi and Tiger.

"It's alright. These aren't just for you. I just want to do something," Nan Wusi said calmly.

“Miss Nan is kind-hearted.” Tiger’s mother coughed again after saying that.

"You should lie down quickly." Nan Wusi helped Hu Zi's mother lie down, and Ye Zi hurriedly lent a hand as well.

"Sister Nan, Sister Nan! I've called all my friends over!" Tiger ran in from outside.

"Okay, I understand. Let's go out and not disturb your mother's rest."

"Mmm." Tiger immediately covered his mouth, his eyes widening, looking incredibly cute.
