In the distance, the Xiongnu people were busily building their military camp.
Suddenly, the sentries on the perimeter spotted a dark figure rapidly approaching from afar.
Without the slightest hesitation, the scout immediately blew the horn in his arms.
The next moment, all the Xiongnu people immediately put down their work and began to gather together.
Inside the commander's tent, Yelü Junba, who was planning his next strategy, was also drawn by the sound of the horn.
What happened?
The guard outside the door immediately came in, knelt on one knee, and said.
"Reporting to the Left Wise King, it seems that Han Chinese cavalry are approaching."
Upon hearing this, Yelü Junba frowned.
The other generals in the tent were immediately enraged.
They had a full 100,000 iron cavalry on their side, while the Han people in Fuling City numbered only a few thousand.
Instead of attacking, the Han Chinese came to kill them first.
This is simply disregarding them.
Yelü Junba put down the map in his hand, got up and walked out of the tent.
He wanted to see just how much guts Mu Zian really had.
In a short while, Yelü Junba led his generals to the outside of the camp gate.
At this moment, the galloping horse in the distance began to slow down.
Yelü Junba was taken aback when he saw this.
"Only one rider?"
For a moment, Yelü Junba had no idea what Mu Zian was up to.
Just as Yelü Junba was puzzled, a sudden cry of surprise arose from the vanguard.
Immediately afterwards, a scout rushed over to report.
"The Left Wise King, is it...?"
The scout's voice trembled slightly, and a hint of fear flickered in his eyes.
Upon seeing this, a commander of ten thousand men couldn't help but angrily rebuke him.
"What happened! Tell me quickly, stop beating around the bush!"
Upon hearing this, the scout immediately lowered his head and said.
"Reporting to the Left Wise King, the figure on horseback appears to be General Tie Ge."
"What! Tie Ge?"
"He's not dead?"
Upon hearing this, everyone looked shocked.
Yelü Junba did not hesitate at all and immediately rode forward.
As Yelü Junba passed through the vanguard and arrived at the very front, the group of warhorses that had come out of Fuling City were already approaching the Xiongnu camp.
However, when Yelü Junba clearly saw the figure on horseback, even he couldn't help but gasp!
The figure on horseback was indeed Tie Ge!
But it was just a headless corpse strapped to the horse's back.
Yelü Junba's gaze moved downwards, and the next moment he felt a chill run down his spine.
On horseback, one could see Helian Tiege's headless corpse with his hands bound to his chest.
Meanwhile, Helian Tiege's missing head was being held in the palm of a hand.
His unclosed eyes stared blankly ahead, lifeless.
As the warhorses continued to move forward, everyone could see more and more clearly.
First came fear, then anger.
Upon seeing this, a commander of ten thousand instantly flew into a rage and roared!
"How dare these Han Chinese be so arrogant! I will lead my warriors to raze this city to the ground!"
The tragic state of Helian Tiege shocked them beyond measure.
Just as the crowd was getting excited, Yelü Junba roared.
"Quiet down, everyone!"
On horseback, Yelü Junba's hands gripping the reins bulged with countless veins.
He watched as the warhorse carrying Helian Tiege's headless corpse drew ever closer.
Yelü Junba kept sneering, but the murderous intent beneath those smiles could not be concealed.
"Good, very good!"
After saying these two sentences, Yelü Junba turned and left without looking back.
Upon seeing this, a centurion couldn't help but ask.
What should we do with General Tie Ge's body?
No sooner had he finished speaking than a burly commander sneered.
"This piece of trash has completely disgraced us grassland warriors! What's the point of keeping him around? Drag him away and burn him!"
After he finished speaking, the soldiers immediately followed Yelü Junba back to the camp.
News of Helian Tiege's tragic death spread rapidly within the Xiongnu army camp.
Yelü Junba had finally managed to appease the generals of the Helian tribe with all his might, but now they were starting to become restless again.
Mu Zian's gift was truly a perfect fit for Yelü Junba's heart.
As the sun set, the Xiongnu army camp had barely managed to complete the construction of a wooden wall facing Fuling City.
To prevent Mu Zi'an from launching another sneak attack in the middle of the night, simple tents were set up one by one.
For the Xiongnu people, who lived by following water and pasture, building such a structure was not a difficult task.
Inside the central command tent, Yelü Junba was listening to reports from his ten commanders.
One of the households complained angrily.
“These Han Chinese are so cunning! Almost all the trees nearby have been burned, and we have to go to much farther places to get timber.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than another person spoke up.
“I have sent out scouts to sweep through the area within a radius of fifty miles, but I haven’t seen a single Han Chinese civilian. Even the usable timber and bricks in the abandoned villages have been hauled away.”
"Without materials, we can't manufacture siege equipment at all. Right now, Fuling City is like a spiky iron turtle. If we launch a direct attack, we will suffer heavy losses."
The successive blows created a tense atmosphere in the camp, with all the commanders cursing and swearing.
Yelü Jun tapped his fingers lightly on the table, seemingly deep in thought.
"In my opinion, we should bypass Fuling City and directly attack Wuwei City or other cities in Liangzhou. Why waste time in front of this iron turtle?"
