Chapter 279 Court Summons
"I came here for a follow-up checkup and just happened to see you rushing in. I was worried so I followed you!"
"There's nothing for you to do now. Please leave. Just remember to come when the court opens."
Zheng Lan didn't take Fu Jiu's indifference to heart. She said with a worried look on her face, "How can I leave at this hour? I have to stay here and take care of your grandma!"
Fu Jiu sneered, "Take care? Don't you know why my grandma is in the hospital?"
Zheng Lan's eyes flashed with panic when she heard this: "Xiao Jiu, how would I know? I know you're angry, so I won't be an eyesore here anymore. I'll appear in court when the trial begins."
As Zheng Lan left, Fu Jiu suddenly spoke up, "Do you know what your good niece did?"
Zheng Lianxue was fine, though. She got angry the moment Zheng Lan was mentioned. She said viciously, "That little bitch, you're such a traitor! You actually betrayed me and Xiaojiu. You're the only one I have now."
Fu Jiu didn't say anything. Zheng Lan gave the old lady a self-deprecating look and left the ward.
As soon as Fu Jiu came out of the hospital, she was stopped by several men in black. "Ms. Fu, our mayor wants to see you!"
Fu Jiu frowned frivolously and looked at the car not far away. She knew that Xu Zhenhua was sitting in the car at the moment.
She walked over step by step and said to the car window: "Mayor Xu, what can I do for you?"
"Fu Jiu, withdraw your appeal. You have no chance of winning."
Fu Jiu sneered, "Since Mayor Xu knows I have no chance of winning, why is he asking me to withdraw? What are you worried about?"
"Don't be so shameless! Do you think that if Chen Hao can help you appear in court, you can win? Impossible! Chen Hao is my man!"
"Then we'll wait and see!" He said and left.
The next morning, Fu Jiu received a call from the court summoning her to appear in court the next morning. After hanging up the phone, Fu Jiu went to the hospital after class.
She sat in the ward, looking at the unconscious old lady, tears flowing uncontrollably.
"Grandma, I will appeal for my father tomorrow. I originally hoped that you would see the court and give my father justice, but now..."
Fu Jiu held the old lady's hand and choked up, "But it's okay. I can record a video for you. You can watch it when you wake up. Grandma, after this is over, let's leave South City and start a new life."
Fu Jiu spoke softly. She knew that even though the old lady was unconscious, she was still conscious and could hear what she said.
"Grandma, I found that I seem to like him, but between us...he doesn't like me, not at all."
Fu Jiu stayed in the old lady's ward until after seven in the evening. If Gu Sihan hadn't called, she would have stayed even later.
"What's the matter?" Fu Jiu answered the phone and spoke calmly.
"What time is it? If you don't go home, your family will starve to death."
"I'll be right back!"
After saying that, she hung up the phone, lowered her eyes and looked at the unconscious old man, then checked the ventilator next to her. Seeing the regular beating of the heart, she felt a little relieved.
It was already past eight o'clock when Fu Jiu returned to the villa. She didn't expect to see Zheng Lianxue at the door. Fu Jiu ignored her and walked towards the iron gate.
"Fu Jiu!"
Zheng Lianxue stood in front of her angrily and looked at Fu Jiu with a serious face.
Fu Jiu feigned confusion and asked, "Teacher Zheng, are you here to see my husband? Why aren't you coming in?"
Zheng Lianxue's face changed slightly. Go in?
She had knocked on the door before, but she didn't expect Gu Sihan to not let her in. Isn't that infuriating? She just called Gu Sihan and he told her to leave.
Why would she leave? Didn't she know that Fu Jiu couldn't leave?
"I'm here to see you, so I won't go in."
"Oh~" Fu Jiu dragged out the last syllable: "What do you want to see me for?"
