Chapter 287: Magic Stone in the City (2/2)

“Although the books in this kind of store are mostly fake, you’ll occasionally find a genuine magic book. My teacher Frieda and I both like to come and browse it occasionally.

Also, the food in that delicatessen you just visited isn't fresh, and they sometimes use dead sick animals as ingredients. Try to eat less of it..."

Junice talked on and on.

Nora looked at the smoked chicken in her hand and it suddenly lost its flavor.

She put the meat to her nose and sniffed it, then retorted, "It doesn't smell like anything diseased, but it is a little stale. However, I shouldn't get sick from it."

But Fran didn't care about that. She was still stuffing food into her mouth and chewing it with big mouthfuls.

Junice also picked up a piece and put it in her mouth to chew. "Try to eat less prepared food sold outside. It's definitely not as clean as Aunt Daisy's."

Reiner gently put his arm around her waist and said, "You're all too familiar with this."

"Of course. Lilita is my hometown. I know every place in this city like the back of my hand, including this alley we are walking on."

Reiner nodded. "That's true. I've always felt like you like wandering around. You're quite restless. Even with a big belly, you were still running around the tavern to take on commissions... You're so energetic."

On the other hand, Reiner has rarely liked to go out since he was a child.

"Of course, exploring is the most interesting thing. Meeting all kinds of people and taking on all kinds of commissions is fun just thinking about it."

Reiner touched her long hair, then hugged her and kissed her.

A few people turned a corner in the alley and met a few ruffians with disheveled clothes, sharp mouths and monkey cheeks.

They also noticed Reiner.

At first, when they saw there were so many people, they decided not to cause trouble and just moved aside.

But when the gangster leader saw that most of them were women, he changed his mind.

The hooligans pulled out their daggers and said with a half-smile, "Spit out the valuables."

???

Reiner never thought that he would be robbed by gangsters.

They really have no vision.

Ordinary people would be guarded and have their weapons confiscated before entering the city.

Although Martina was not wearing armor, she was obviously not an ordinary person judging by the big sword on her back.

Before she could speak, Junice beside her said, "Is it because I've been away from here for too long that no one remembers me anymore?"

Lailisi came out from behind, her voice cold, "You don't even know who you're stopping. I'm in a good mood and don't want to kill anyone. Do you want to get out of here on your own or do I help you get out?"

Before she finished her words, a red spear flew into the alley from a distance and landed steadily in her hands.

The murderous aura emanating from her frightened the gang of thugs into immobility in just a moment.

After a few seconds, the gangster in the lead came to his senses from his fear and slipped away from the fork in the road with several of his companions.

Lalith put away her spear.

Junice smiled helplessly: "This is a common thing, but I used to be quite famous in the city, and no one dared to stop me."

Come to think of it, the daughter of the local lord can use magic that ordinary people have never seen before. She can kill anyone she wants.

At this moment, Reiner glanced at the stone where the gangster had just sat.

He frowned.

There's actually a magic stone in this alley...
