"Almost."
After flying for nearly half an hour in the dark, Reiner and his companions were now over the primitive forest south of Cannon.
Reiner looked around in the bright moonlight. Under his feet was still an ordinary forest that couldn't be more ordinary. It didn't look like a place where people could live at all.
He expanded the domain and found only some small animals hiding in it, but there was no trace of the elves.
Moreover, Junice once said that there were many tree monsters several thousand meters high in the elven city, but Reiner never discovered this behemoth.
Reiner asked Selina in front of him: "Your elf city should be protected by some kind of magic, right?
Not only can it not be seen with the naked eye, it cannot be detected even with conventional sensory magic."
Before Serena could speak, the elf beside her took over the conversation: "You didn't know, I thought Junice had told you."
"No, I didn't ask any further questions."
Aliana nodded. "You guessed right, then. It's protected by light magic. Only by entering the interior can you see the full view of the city. When Junice stepped forward, she screamed with excitement."
Reiner could probably imagine that scene.
Junice, with her big belly, looked at the Elf City. With the support of Aliana and Aunt Daisy, she held up her staff and danced excitedly, then shouted "This place is so scary!"
Just as Reiner was daydreaming, Selina in the front suddenly stopped, as if waiting for something.
Reiner and Lelith also stopped obediently.
A moment later, more than a dozen elves appeared in the night sky one after another, most of them were Whisperers with green hair on their heads.
They stared at Lalith, bows in their hands, ready to attack at any time.
Even though they were a hundred meters apart, Reiner could still sense the hostility emanating from them.
So he moved Lalith behind him to protect her.
The leading Whisperer was a male elf with short green hair. He held an orange-yellow longbow, had narrow and sharp eyes, and a nose like an eagle's hook.
In Reiner's memory, elves are basically handsome men and beautiful women, but this elf can't really be called good-looking.
He spoke slowly, "Demons are forbidden to enter."
Obviously, the moment they stepped into the airspace of this primitive forest, these guys noticed Lalith.
And Lailisi laughed and teased: "You are still the same, so stingy."
The elf ignored her joke and continued to stare at Lalith.
If Selena hadn't been here, they would have probably taken action long ago.
Selina raised her head and pointed at Lalith with her staff, then said to the leading Whisperer Elf, "I'm looking for help from this demon outside. Maybe she can help us find those guys.
And I will always supervise her, you don't have to worry."
The leading elf said, "I need to inform the Queen before I can let you go."
Serena took out the scroll and tossed it to him. "No need to go through so much trouble. This is the Queen's order."
The leading elf took a careful look at it, then put the scroll away. "Sorry, Lady Serena, this is my job, I must be more rigorous."
"understand."
The surrounding elves made way for them and returned to stealth.
Serena turned her head to look at Reiner and Lelith, and said slowly: "In order to avoid causing unnecessary trouble, follow me closely."
