Chapter 41 Bringing My Mother-in-Law Home (1/2)

Nora hugged Daisy tightly,

"Thank you." Reiner said seriously.

Fortunately, I didn't quarrel with Dimas at that time, otherwise Nora's mother would not have come back so easily.

He took out a gold coin from his waist pouch and handed it to Dimas.

Dimas just glanced at it and refused: "I'm not helping you for money."

"But let's be clear. I can't ask you for help and then ask you to pay, right?" Reiner held out his hand. "Take it. Even though this money may not mean much to you, I don't want to take advantage of you."

Dimas thought for a moment and took a few gold coins away.

"Then I'll go back first."

"Okay, bye."

Looking at Dimas's departing back, Reiner breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he reached out and patted Norah's shoulder: "Let's go home first."

"Um."

The mother and daughter hadn't seen each other for so long, and they had a lot to talk about.

After returning home, Nora kept chattering.

I've known her for so long, and this is the first time I've seen her so talkative.

Sometimes, if Reiner didn't talk to her, she would sit alone in the corner sharpening her dagger. If not, she basically wouldn't speak on her own.

But her inner world is quite rich, just like she is now, talkative.

Daisy was obviously not so brave to speak, and kept dealing with Nora in a low voice. She was a little afraid of Reiner and was always observing his expression.

Nora seemed to see through Daisy's thoughts and whispered, "Mom, our master is a very kind man. He treats me very well. Not only does he make sure I have enough food to eat every day, he also gives me warm clothes to wear and never beats or scolds me. He's different from other people."

Immediately afterwards, Daisy's inner voice also floated into Reiner's ears.

(Silly child, you have no sense of propriety. I didn't hit or scold you just because I was in a good mood. If I were in a bad mood one day, it would be over. And if he really is a good person, you should flatter him and please him.

There is no place for us subhumans in this world anymore. If we can live by relying on a good person, we are lucky.)

Daisy stole a glance at Reiner, then dropped to her knees and lay on the ground: "Thank you, Master!"

Nora blinked and was about to reach out to help Daisy up, but after thinking it over, she took her hand back.

Reiner was speechless.

After thinking for a while, he said, "We don't do this kind of thing. Let's not do it again in the future."

"Yes!" Daisy stood quietly by, not moving.

Reiner pointed to a stool nearby and said, "You sit here."

"yes!"

Daisy is like an NPC. When you speak to her, she moves.

"Nora said that you slipped and fell off a cliff while picking herbs. What happened after that?"

Daisy fell into deep thought, paused for a few seconds and then replied, "I was lucky. When I fell, there were branches to cushion my fall. Although the mountain was high, I only broke my leg.

And just by chance, a human discovered me, and then I was captured. After living in a small house with other companions for a while, I was taken to this city and sold.

And then, what just happened happened.”

Reiner scratched his head.

I slipped and fell off a cliff, and was finally caught by others...

If she were left alone in the valley with an injured leg, she would most likely starve to death or be eaten by monsters.

This was a blessing in disguise for her.

Reiner looked at Martina beside him.

She hasn't spoken much since just now and seems to be in a low mood.

She envied Nora that her mother was still alive and could be reunited here.
