Chapter 478: I've Been Waiting For A Long Time (1/2)

"Oh, I thought there would be a fierce battle as soon as I came in, but it turned out to be calm and peaceful. There wasn't even a demon that was looking for trouble with us." Martina put the sword back on her back and looked around at this unfamiliar space.

Reiner looked at the pumice stones in the distance. It seemed that many little demons were hiding behind them and spying on them.

He slowly raised his hand, and the pumice stone suddenly exploded, causing the demons hiding behind it to flee in all directions.

Selina raised her staff slightly, and after a brief chant, an invisible wind blade drew an arc, splitting the little demons who had not yet had time to escape into two.

Reiner looked at Martina and whispered to her, "Honey, don't forget to cast the spell. We need to breathe."

Martina nodded: "I understand, I'm not stupid."

Reiner disagrees.

"Okay, lead the way, Lalith." Reiner let go of Lalith's tail and let her lead the way in the barrier.

She quickly found her target with a glance: "I see Nihilios's magic power, Master, follow me."

Reiner used the art of flying to carry everyone through the large pieces of pumice, and he easily annihilated the little demons around him.

This space was really too hot. After flying for a while, Reiner was sweating profusely and felt dizzy. He felt a little bit like he had heatstroke, so he imitated Vimilos and used water magic to cover his body.

Nora couldn't stand the heat either, so she dived into the water ball without hesitation, leaving only her head sticking out.

"Are you still awake?" Lailisi looked back at everyone.

Selina replied softly, "The environment here is too harsh. Even with the barrier between us, it's hard to adapt."

She also let out a stream of water from her staff, covering her skin like a veil.

Even Martina, who is very patient, could not stand the heat.

Reiner said softly, "But now I've been in the water for a long time, so continue to lead the way."

Reiner felt an indescribable discomfort in his heart when he thought about Lelith having to stay in this kind of environment for so long.

Lelith saw what Reiner was thinking, and she smiled and replied, "I'm a demon. Surviving in this kind of environment is nothing to me."

Reiner shook his head.

Led by Lailisi, everyone continued to fly towards the depths of hell.

The further they flew, the more pumice appeared around them.

Reiner saw that there were many huge worms living in these pumice stones, like miniature versions of the famine demon Elidos.

"You said before that a higher-level demon can never be truly killed. Does that mean the Four Calamities have actually been reborn?"

Lailisi nodded: "Yes, the moment they are killed by the master, they will be resurrected here, but they will lose all their power and need to lie dormant for thousands of years before they can recover to their original strength.

It's only been ten years since they were resurrected, and their strength is about the same as that of ordinary mid-level demons. I can handle them alone."

At this point, Lalith seemed to notice something. She pointed to a shadow floating in the void and softly introduced it, "Master, this is the spore. We demons were born from it."

Reiner could only see a phantom floating.

But as he stared longer, the shadow gradually took on an outline, and Reiner saw its full appearance.

At first glance, Reiner thought it was a giant flower, but as the spores gradually appeared, he realized that it was a mass of deformed flesh and blood.

The flesh was inlaid with many dark green tumors, and something seemed to be constantly wriggling in the tumors.

"This thing can't be destroyed?" Reiner asked softly.

Laelis nodded. "Yes, magicians tried this thousands of years ago. Only a few people can see this thing, but neither swords nor magic can destroy it. To be more precise, it can't even be touched."
