Early in the morning, a room full of people sat at the dining table and had breakfast.
Aliana looked at the white bread on the plate that was as big as her face. She took a few bites and then stopped. She didn't seem to have much appetite.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "Reiner... I want to eat that small white bread. This one doesn't taste very good."
The kid is quite picky.
This kind of white bread is just a little rougher and lacks a little milk flavor, but the difference is actually not that big.
When Reiner heard this, he decisively took out the jam he bought yesterday from the kitchen, scooped a spoonful with a knife and spread it on the bread.
Aliana's eyes lit up, and her mouth seemed to be watering. "You have such a good thing, and you didn't take it out earlier... It smells so good!"
Reiner passed the jam to the others: "Try it again."
Aliana took a light bite, and the light in her eyes instantly disappeared. Then she said with a frown, "It's different from what it smells like... It's so sour."
Reiner looked at Nora and Martina, who were eating with gusto.
Junice and Daisy seemed to enjoy it quite a bit too.
"I think I saw some honey next to the bakery yesterday. I'll buy some when I get there, or maybe go to the local doctor and get some sugar."
Aliana nodded slightly: "Thank you so much for your help..."
Just when they were enjoying their meal, there was a sound of horse hooves outside the door, followed by a knock on the door.
Nora's ears pricked up, and she raised her head and sniffed hard, then said, "It's the knights from last time. They're chasing us."
Junice was slightly stunned, but soon understood who Nora was talking about.
Reiner asked, "Do you want to hide?"
"Forget it, there's no way to avoid it. You repelled the orc attack yesterday, and now there must be rumors about you here. If he asks around, he'll know I'm here too." Junice shook her head and ate the last bite of white bread.
"Okay."
Reiner stood up and opened the door.
Standing outside the door was indeed Yule.
The plate armor on his body was dirty and covered with mud. It was obvious that the long journey had taken its toll on him.
The two followers behind him were in stark contrast to his calmness, with a hint of anger on their faces.
One of the attendants was covered in mud and his hair was clumped together.
Nora said before that someone was following her, and that person must be him.
Yule said slowly, "Reiner, you really have us fooled around. If I hadn't suddenly felt something was wrong, I might have really run off to South Asia."
He was too slow to react.
Most of the people in Melode had very positive opinions about him.
How could there be such a big difference when Yule came in person?
If you think about it carefully, you will find that something is wrong.
Reiner took a half step back and said, "It's cold outside, do you want to come in and sit down?"
Yule walked into the house without any hesitation and went straight to Junice who was sitting at the dining table.
Their eyes met.
The brother and sister met again after a long separation, but they did not show the concern for each other that Reiner had expected.
Instead, they were calm and scary.
Yule spoke, and he said in a very normal tone: "Come with me."
Junice shook her head without even thinking: "No, if I come here now, I'll never be able to get out again."
"The family needs you now."
"Then you can't go there."
Reiner sat at the dining table, eating while observing the expressions of the two people.
