Fran shook her head vigorously. "This? No, no, this is the King's first egg. It has commemorative significance, so the King must keep it for himself."
Seeing Martina's pony ears drooping, she then generously said, "Wait for the next egg. The King will give you the next one. The King still has a long life ahead of him, and he and Reiner will surely lay many more eggs in the future."
"It's a deal!" Martina blinked hard and looked at Fran with hope.
"The King never lies."
While Fran and Martina were talking, the dragon egg bounced again, and this time a noticeable crack appeared on the side of the top of the eggshell.
"The dragon egg is jumping again! The child must feel cold here. Reiner, please help him warm up by the fire." Vimiros waved at him.
Reiner was at a loss and asked in confusion, "How big a fire do we need? Will it burn the eggs?"
"This is the offspring of a red dragon. If it's not afraid of fire, you can roast it without worry."
Reiner nodded, and a ball of fire appeared in his hand, but to be on the safe side he did not get too close to the fire.
However, after this tossing and turning, the dragon egg became motionless again.
Reiner asked Vimelos next to him, "Can you help it? The shell of this egg is too thick. It will take a lot of energy to get it out."
Vimiros scratched his head. "I don't know. I've never laid eggs, but I heard it's best to let the cubs hatch on their own."
As soon as he finished speaking, the shell was pushed hard again. This time the crack on the edge became bigger. It seemed that it would not be long before the dragon cub would break out of the shell.
Veroniya found a good angle and watched silently: "This trip is really an eye-opener. I can actually see the scene of an ancient dragon breaking out of its shell..."
The corners of Fran's mouth curled up slightly, and she continued, "I don't know if there will be a human or a dragon in this shell, or if it will be a girl or a boy..."
"Boys are better. Now all the children in my family are girls. I want to teach them how to use the greatsword!" Martina began to giggle.
"By the way, have you thought of a name for the child?" Reiner turned and looked at Fran.
Fran shrugged. "Your Majesty has never been to school. You can choose a name for yourself. If you really can't find a name, Tiast-2 will do."
While the two were chatting, a beak-like object poked out from the crack and pecked at the eggshell along the crack, as if trying to bite a round hole in the shell so that its head could stick out.
"Bird's beak, does that mean this child is in dragon form?" Two big question marks appeared on Reiner's face.
Vimelos scratched his cheek. "Mouth? What dragon's mouth looks like? Aren't these claws?"
Reiner shrugged and decided to continue reading.
Another dozen minutes passed.
The eggshell was knocked open by something.
Luminila hurried forward with the swaddling clothes. She leaned over to take a look at the dragon egg and was stunned.
Even the usually calm Luminila couldn't help but panic at this moment. She turned around and asked for help: "Reiner, there's a stick in the egg."
Reiner was confused and didn't react for a moment: "Stick? What stick?"
Before he could get close, a small staff with a fire magic stone on top emerged from the egg.
In an instant, the whole room was quiet.
