The person who came was none other than Qu Songsheng's elder brother, Qu Baosheng, the village secretary of Quwan Village.
Qu Baosheng went to a meeting in the village this morning and only now had time to come back to attend his niece's full moon banquet.
As soon as he entered the village, he heard that there was a fire in his house, and Qu Songsheng and Old Lady Qu had a quarrel.
The family is going to the father-in-law's house to celebrate the New Year.
How can that be?
It was originally a small matter. Which mother-in-law and her son and daughter-in-law don’t have some conflicts?
It's nothing.
If we end up having to bring our whole family to celebrate the New Year at my father-in-law's house, wouldn't that make the family disgrace known to everyone?
Qu Baosheng would never allow it.
He stopped Qu Songsheng's car.
After the reprimand, he gave the following order: "Go back and tell your sister-in-law to go to the kitchen to take shelter from the wind. I'll talk to Mom and ask her to allocate another room for you to live in."
"Big brother."
Qu Songsheng is twenty years younger than Qu Baosheng and is about the same age as Qu Baosheng's son.
He has respected this elder brother since he was a child.
He immediately explained: "The house is burned down, where is there any place left for me to live? Big brother, please don't worry about it."
Qu Baosheng glared at him and said, "I'm your elder brother. If I don't take care of you, who will? Just wait."
After saying that, he strode off to find Old Lady Qu.
Qu Songsheng was a little moved when he saw his elder brother's hurried back.
He immediately said to Lin Wanxia, "Wanxia, how about we wait and see?"
Lin Wanxia nodded, although she really wanted to go back to her parents' home.
If going back to celebrate the New Year would bring bad luck to her parents' home, she would rather not go back.
Seeing this, Lin Hongxian didn't say anything, but just waited quietly for his daughter, son-in-law and their family.
Qu Manman knew that it was her uncle who had returned, and she immediately searched her mind for the description of this person in the book.
Soon the words "selfish, narrow-minded and greedy" jumped out.
She began to complain in her heart: [Dad, don't place any hope on Uncle, it's useless.]
He wants to keep our family, but he's not thinking about us.
He was just afraid that if we went to Grandpa's house, the rumors would affect him.
Qu Songsheng was looking forward to listening to his daughter's words.
I was stunned for a moment.
Qu Manman didn't notice her father's expression. She continued to complain to herself: "Just wait and see. Uncle is so selfish. He can't vacate the house."
[They will just make us live in the same shabby house we are in now.]
If we didn't agree, he would accuse us of being ignorant, embarrassing, and not considering the family.
impossible!
That shabby house is completely burned down. How can we live in it?
Even if the eldest brother is a bastard and wants to save face, he can't ignore the life and death of his family, right?
Qu Songsheng clenched his fingers tightly and waited in disbelief.
Qu Baosheng first went to see Old Lady Qu, but she was still angry.
He just opened his mouth and said, "I don't care. He has married a wife and forgotten his mother. Why should I care about him?"
"How dare you say Yingying is a nuisance? Bah! I think Manman is the nuisance!"
"Ever since that girl was born, your brother has become rebellious and has no regard for me anymore."
"I don't have a house. If I give it to him, where would I live? I don't have any..."
In fact, the Qu family’s yard was not small, except for the small house in the corner where Qu Songsheng’s family lived that was burned down.
There are five main rooms in the main house, and Mrs. Qu and her husband live in two of them.
Qu Baosheng and his family lived in the remaining three rooms.
There are three rooms in the west wing, where the second son Qu Caisheng and Wang Guilan's family live.
There are three rooms in the east wing, one of which is used as a kitchen.
The other two rooms are the residence of Qu Fusheng, the third son of the Qu family.
Qu Fusheng and his wife went to the city to work with their relatives and will not be back for a few days.
There are two children living in those two rooms now.
Qu Baosheng stared at the two children and was about to speak.
The nine-year-old Qu Huihui immediately took her brother's hand and grabbed the lock of her door.
The first thing he said was, "Uncle, don't try to bully us when our parents are not around."
"My brother and I won't give up our room anyway."
It is easy to persuade adults but difficult to deal with children.
Seeing the two children like this, Qu Baosheng had no choice but to give up.
He turned around and looked around, and happened to see Wang Guilan standing aside, eating melon seeds and watching the fun.
He immediately called out, "Second sister-in-law, your Yanyan is still young, so there's no need for her to occupy a separate room, right? Make room for her."
"How can that be possible?"
Wang Guilan firmly disagreed: "Yanyan is already thirteen, how can a girl not have her own room?"
"Brother, the main room you live in is as big as two of my side rooms. Why don't you free up one?"
Qu Baosheng's face darkened: "My children are grown up, it's not convenient for us to live together."
Wang Guilan immediately stretched out her voice: "Oh, you also know it's inconvenient! Then why are you still trying to persuade me?"
"Anyway, I don't agree. You should vacate your house and don't set your sights on mine."
After saying that, Wang Guilan rolled her eyes and went back to the house.
Qu Laoer is not at home fooling around, and Wang Guilan is a bit of a scoundrel.
Qu Baosheng couldn't do anything to her.
He looked back and stared at the three spacious and bright main rooms in his house again and again, and was reluctant to vacate one of them.
I simply went to see the hut that had just been burned.
He turned around and said to Qu Songsheng, "I see that the house hasn't collapsed. It can still be lived in after cleaning."
"Don't worry, if you're worried about the roof leaking, I'll find you a piece of plastic sheet to cover it."
"It's a bit of a stretch to live here, but isn't it almost Chinese New Year?"
"You and your family should just make do with it for now. We'll find someone to fix it up after the New Year. You won't be staying here for many days."
"Songsheng, listen to your elder brother and move in first to get over it."
