Chapter 44 The screen lit up

Zhou Yi's room was closed, so Su Qingjiao opened the door and went in.

Zhou Yi wasn't in the room, but if you listened carefully, you could hear the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

As Su Qingjiao hesitated whether to wait in the room or come back later, she heard Zhou Yi's phone on the bed ring, and then the screen lit up.

Su Qingjiao was standing by the bed, and she only had to turn her head slightly to see the friend request on the screen.

Suddenly, Su Qingjiao had a bad feeling.

Could it be that woman again?

Su Qingjiao picked up Zhou Yi's phone. She had previously asked Zhou Yi not to hide anything from her, so Zhou Yi had given her the phone password so that she could check his phone at any time.

Su Qingjiao unlocked the phone skillfully and saw that the password was still the same. She couldn't help but think that Zhou Yi still cared about her, otherwise why wouldn't he have changed the password?

It couldn't be that he forgot to change it, could it?

"Hmph, I knew it. You were just playing hard to get."

"You've been pretending for so many days, seeing how much I've suffered, you probably don't know how much you're hurting inside, do you?"

Su Qingjiao opened the application page and saw that the name of the friend requester was Shen Bingyan!

It's her again!

Su Qingjiao's face stiffened. She had blocked Shen Bingyan twice in the past few months, but Shen Bingyan refused to give up and would add Zhou Yi with a different number each time.

Su Qingjiao operated as usual, blocking and deleting records to erase any possible traces.

Just as she was about to check who Zhou Yi had been talking to closely lately, she heard footsteps coming from the bathroom.

Su Qingjiao quickly exited WeChat, locked her phone, and then threw it back to its previous position.

After doing all this, Zhou Yi, wearing a silk nightgown, came out of the bathroom, her hair still dripping wet, and was drying it with a towel as she walked.

Su Qingjiao saw it clearly: when Zhou Yi saw her appear in the room, he was first taken aback, then his eyes turned cold and wary: "Who let you in?!"

Su Qingjiao felt terrible; Zhou Yi's cold gaze had pierced her heart.

She pouted and said, "Zhou Yi, you said I could come to you anytime."

"I just wanted to talk to you."

"You've probably been under a lot of pressure lately, which is why you've been so irritable and impatient with me. I've been thinking about it, and maybe I've been neglecting your feelings too much."

“We were both at fault in this matter, so I want to take the initiative. I won’t hold it against you for hitting me before, and I won’t make you apologize to me.”

"I forgive you!"

"All I want now is to go back to the way things were before, Zhou Yi. You've really hurt me these past few days..."

Seeing that Zhou Yi didn't react at all after hearing this, he just stared at her coldly.

Su Qingjiao tugged at her skirt, letting her fair skin sag a little lower, and took two steps toward Zhou Yi: "Do you remember this dress?"

"It was the first gift you gave me, and I've kept it all this time."

Su Qingjiao wanted Zhou Yi to recall the beautiful memories they shared. Under the lamplight, she tried to appear gentle, her lips curving slightly as she gazed at Zhou Yi with tender affection.

As if moved by past memories, Zhou Yi involuntarily took one step, then two steps, towards Su Qingjiao...

When he reached the desk, he suddenly stopped.

Under Su Qingjiao's affectionate gaze, Zhou Yi suddenly opened the top drawer, took out a piece of paper, and looked at it casually.

Su Qingjiao couldn't see what was on the A4 paper, but she could see dense shadows of writing on it.

At this moment, reflected in Su Qingjiao's pupils, Zhou Yi's expression, which had been blank just moments before, changed. He took a piece of paper and slapped Su Qingjiao's face repeatedly.

Su Qingjiao gasped as her fair skin was instantly scratched red.

Zhou Yi's eyes were filled with extreme humiliation, his actions with extreme mockery, and he said to her with a sarcastic expression, "What are you pretending for, you bitch? You don't want to go back to the old days with me, you want to go back to the old days."

"When I was pursuing you, didn't you always say that I begged you to spend all that money on you? Did I force you to accept those gifts?"

"It's only been a few days, and you can't help but come over and apologize."

Su Qingjiao was stunned, then looked hurt. She stared at Zhou Yi in disbelief and said, "Zhou Yi, you, you, how could you think of me like that?"

"When have I ever taken advantage of your money?"

Zhou Yi, with an expression that seemed to have anticipated this response, flipped the A4 paper over so that Su Qingjiao could see what was written on it: "No pictures? That's good!"

"Pay back the money first, then we can talk about other things."

"This is just one of your many expenses."

"Not much, just a few hundred thousand!"

Su Qingjiao then clearly saw that the A4 paper printed with her spending records for the month. Even after deducting the 290,000 yuan bag purchase, there was still several hundred thousand yuan left.

Seeing Zhou Yi's mocking expression, Su Qingjiao's face suddenly turned pale.

He... he wouldn't really want her to pay him back, would he?

This won't do!

He likes her, he's the one who pursued her. How can you pursue a girl without spending money? What's wrong with spending a little money? Why humiliate her like this?

Her eyes flickered, then she suddenly covered her face and burst into tears: "Zhou Yi, is this how you think of me? Waaaaah!"

"I finally mustered up the courage to make up with you, and you think I'm after your money?"

"I'm really disappointed in you."

Zhou Yi watched coldly as Su Qingjiao left her room heartbroken. She selectively ignored the money issue and focused solely on the topic of love.
