Chapter 95: Old Master Pei

Chapter 95: Old Master Pei

Upon hearing the sound, Xu Yihuan's brow twitched, and she immediately looked over.

The moment I met Pei Yi'an's gaze, I thought she had some kind of need.

With the organizer's conviction in mind, I walked over quickly.

"What's wrong, teacher? Is there anything you need?"

Pei Yutang thought that she was going to make things difficult for Xu Yihuan because of her.

A thought struck him, and he looked at Xu Yihuan with a lewd expectation in his eyes.

Seeing Xu Yihuan's sincere expression, Pei Yi'an opened her mouth.

He swallowed the words he was about to say, "Go outside and buy me a cup of coffee."

Instead, she said, "It's nothing, just get me a bottle of water."

Xu Yihuan thought Pei Yi'an was really thirsty, so she immediately ran to get her some water.

Looking at Xu Yihuan's retreating figure, Pei Yi'an felt a pang of inexplicable heartache.

Is this silly child like this to everyone? Does she just do whatever people tell her to do?

Pei Yi'an pursed her lips.

He turned to look at Pei Yutang.

"Tangtang, have you talked to your counselor about the model student thing? I don't think this child is that kind of person. Is there some misunderstanding?"

Pei Yutang was startled when she was suddenly called upon.

Hearing Pei Yi'an's words, he stammered, "Ah, I was too busy the past two days, I... I haven't had time to ask yet. I'll go after things are finished today."

Pei Yutang's expression froze.

This can't go on. Her original intention was to make Pei Yi'an dislike Xu Yihuan before he even met her.

But something doesn't seem right.

Pei Yutang bit her lip, trying to hide the anxiety in her eyes.

He continued, "But I think maybe I'm mistaken. Xu Yihuan did perform quite well during military training, she just wasn't in our camp."

Pei Yutang observed Pei Yi'an's reaction as she spoke.

Upon hearing Pei Yutang's words, Pei Yi'an felt a sense of relief for some reason.

"That might be true. Remember to ask him later."

Upon hearing this, Pei Yutang didn't know what expression to make.

He could only manage a forced smile.

He caught a glimpse of Xu Yihuan approaching out of the corner of his eye, and quickly went to greet her, taking the water from her hand.

We can't let Xu Yihuan have any more contact with her aunt.

Xu Yihuan was taken aback for a moment, but did not refuse and gave her the water in her hand.

Watching the two of them chatting and laughing, Xu Yihuan felt a subtle pain in her heart.

I didn't want to watch anymore, so I turned around and went backstage.

Backstage.

Tan Zhixu hadn't left yet; he was sitting in front of the computer, leaning lazily against the back of his chair, his fingers on the keyboard, typing something.

Xu Yihuan found a chair and sat down next to him.

He asked listlessly, "Why are you still here?"

Tan Zhixu's eyelids were drooping. Hearing that Xu Yihuan's voice sounded strange, he looked up at her.

"What's wrong with you?"

Xu Yihuan shook her head: "It's nothing."

Tan Zhixu stared at Xu Yihuan for a few moments, then tilted his head and laughed, his voice tinged with absurdity: "You're still okay? Your nose is as red as a clown's and you're okay?"

Upon hearing this, Xu Yihuan subconsciously touched her nose.

He explained, "It's nothing, I'm just cold. It's cold today, and I'm not wearing enough clothes."

"Is that really the reason?" Tan Zhixu frowned, looking suspicious.

He looked down at himself again.

He was wearing short sleeves too, so why didn't he feel cold?

"Why would I lie to you? Get out of my way and don't interfere with my work."

Xu Yihuan rarely acted childishly, and she pushed Tan Zhixu aside.

Tan Zhixu didn't argue with her, obediently stood up to give her his seat, and sat down on the stool that Xu Yihuan had brought over.

"Okay~ whatever you say."

"Alright, I have something to do here, I'll be going now. If anything happens to you, contact me on WeChat. I'm in charge of the lecture hall today."

Tan Zhixu meant to tell her not to be shy and to call him if she needed anything; it was his job.

Xu Yihuan understood and nodded in agreement.

Tan Zhixu turned and left.

Xu Yihuan stared at the computer screen all alone.

My expectations were dashed, and I felt like I couldn't help at all.

Xu Yihuan felt unusually lost.

Fortunately, the confusion didn't last long before a loud voice rang out.

"Xu Yihuan".

Looking in the direction of the sound, a person wearing sunglasses and a black halter-neck dress appeared at the door; it was Tang Wanhua.

Xu Yihuan subconsciously stood up: "What's wrong, teacher?"

"Why are you sitting here? Didn't you go to rehearse your lines with Pei Yi'an?" Tang Wanhua asked in a questioning voice as she sat down next to her.

"No, Teacher Pei already has someone in mind, so there's no point in me being there. The process has already been finalized, so I've come back to the backstage."

Upon hearing this, Tang Wanhua frowned: "Someone has chosen someone? Who? Did she bring her herself?"

"Damn it! She chose the person a long time ago but didn't tell us? I even had to send you the notice, wasting our time. Pei Yi'an did this on purpose, didn't she?!"

Xu Yihuan noticed that Tang Wanhua seemed to be quite familiar with Pei Yi'an.

She suddenly remembered what her classmates had said about her and Pei Yi'an being from the same school.

I didn't dare say much, only giving a name: "Pei Yutang".

Upon hearing this surname, Tang Wanhua's anger flared up instantly, and she let out a "whoosh".

He sneered, "Damn it, I knew she would give this opportunity to the Pei family."

"That makes sense. The Pei family has been in business for so many years, and it's not easy to have someone like Pei Yi'an who can participate in government affairs. We must cultivate a successor."

Tang Wanhua had no intention of avoiding Xu Yihuan at all, and poured out all her thoughts.

He continued grumbling, "It's all that old geezer's fault. He's always causing trouble."

The "old codger" that Tang Wanhua was referring to was Pei Yi'an's father, the patriarch of the Pei family.

The Pei family has been in business for generations, and every generation has tried to squeeze into the political arena, but they have all failed in the end.

Finally, in the generation of Mr. Pei, there emerged Pei Yi'an, who achieved a certain status in the translation field.

This old man has certainly had his share of groping and nibbling.

Now it's definitely going to be Pei Yi'an who drags the rest of the family into this mess again.

Everyone knows that Pei Yi'an is her senior.

Few people know that their relationship was not very good.

This is not good, and it has a lot to do with that old man.

That old man looked down on her completely, insisting on saying things like "Mo Xiang Tong Xiu" and telling Pei Yi'an to stay away from her.

Damn it, his own house must stink terribly.

Tang Wanhua took a deep breath in exasperation: "Fine, since we've put you here to oversee things, you can just sit here and be in charge of the PPT today. If they ask you to do anything else, don't worry about it."

"If you ask, just say it's because I didn't allow it."

Xu Yihuan seemed to notice that Tang Wanhua was in a bad mood. Although she didn't know why, she still nodded obediently: "Okay, teacher."

Tang Wanhua gave a casual reply and turned to leave.

It was indeed a magnetic field issue; she couldn't breathe wherever Pei Yi'an was.

She has to go out.

After Tang Wanhua left, Xu Yihuan was left alone in the empty backstage area.

But the atmosphere outside was getting more and more lively.

Just then, a furry head peeked out from the doorway.
