Chapter 13 Follow
Realizing that there was something strange infiltrating the comments, most of the people speaking dropped out instantly.
Yin Xiu tucked the little girl's blanket silently, "She's still alive, definitely alive, so I'm still looking."
"When I find it, I'll bring it to you to introduce it, so go to bed early now."
"Um..." The little girl nodded hesitantly and closed her eyes obediently, "Good night, brother."
Yin Xiu nodded nonchalantly, stood up and left the room.
The barrage immediately became lively again.
"Okay, now I know why Yin Xiu was so nice to this little girl. He even wiped her face and hands and took her to take a bath. He must have treated her as his sister."
"Yin Xiu treats the dungeon monster as his sister. He must have been in the town for too long and his brain is a little off."
"Yeah...that little girl isn't his sister, why is he so nice to her? He's usually so mean to us."
"Next time, if I go to him dressed as a little girl, will I be able to lure him out of the house?"
"You're so smart, you probably don't even know how you got cut in two. You're so ridiculous."
"that is."
Yin Xiu opened the little girl's door. Before he knew it, it was already dark. The light in the living room was almost pitch black, with only a little light coming in from the window allowing Yin Xiu to see the outline of the living room.
He closed the little girl's door and turned to walk towards his own room.
Just as he reached the center of the living room, a cold wind blew in from outside the window, making the window glass rustle. The chillness of the entire living room instantly surged up, drowning Yin Xiu in the darkness of the living room.
Realizing that something seemed to have happened in the living room, Yin Xiu stood still, holding the hilt of the knife with one hand, slowly letting his eyes adjust to the darkness, observing the living room.
The cold white walls were most striking at night, the outlines of some furniture submerged in darkness, their construction appearing identical to that of daytime. But Yin Xiu saw nothing unusual, only a strange chill permeating the living room. Every time he breathed, the chill felt like a needle piercing his lungs, yet he couldn't see it.
Copy rule six: Stay in your room at night and don't go to the living room to avoid being found by it.
At this moment, it was obvious that it had appeared in the living room, but it did not directly attack Yin Xiu, but was circling around.
Is it because it hasn't found me yet?
Yin Xiu pondered, wondering what unconscious action he had taken that had kept the other person from noticing? Was it silence? Or perhaps, not moving?
Just as I was thinking about it, a heart-wrenching scream from outside resounded throughout the night. Players in other rooms were in trouble.
At this moment, the players watching on the live broadcast screen can clearly see that the player who did not return to the room in time to stand in the living room was instantly swallowed up by something in the darkness. His whole body was torn into pieces and disappeared in the dark living room in the blink of an eye, leaving only the sound of swallowing and biting.
They couldn't even see what it was, something almost completely invisible that killed the player instantly.
This overly powerful killing ability made the players break out in cold sweats, and their eyes unconsciously moved to Yin Xiu who was in the living room. It was over, even Yin Xiu was doomed now, no matter how good his reaction ability was, he would be killed instantly, and Yin Xiu would not survive.
Yin Xiu stood quietly in the darkness without moving, feeling everything around him. He did not see any figure, but he could feel something moving around him, and even a sticky touch brushing against his skin.
This invisible feeling of oppression made Yin Xiu subconsciously stand still for nearly a minute. He stood in the darkness, almost blending in with the furniture in the living room.
"What's going on? All the players still in the living room are motionless? And they haven't been killed?"
The players outside the screen could not feel the oppressive feeling. They just stared blankly at the still images in all the living rooms, with no one taking any action.
"You're a newbie, aren't you? Since the rules say you shouldn't be found, then you obviously have a way to hide yourself."
"This rule is quite approachable. It specifies the time, location, and how to avoid it. It's the easiest danger to avoid. Otherwise, the little girl wouldn't have been able to hold the player back."
"Yeah, I noticed that the rules of this dungeon really like to create contradictions. On one hand, they don't allow players to refuse the little girl, but on the other hand, they let the little girl ask players to violate the rules. That's so mean."
"And if a player encounters it in the living room, their first reaction is likely to quickly return to their room, but if they move, it will notice them."
"I've written it down. Another guide, but it's a novice dungeon. I've already passed it, so I don't know if it'll be useful."
"It's always a good idea to take note."
There was originally a group of players who were watching to clear the dungeon, and while watching, they would naturally start to study the dungeon. Even in the middle of the night, there were still many people who enjoyed watching this live broadcast.
In the copy, the chill slowly retreated from the living room after failing to capture anything, until the breath disappeared completely.
Yin Xiu glanced around the living room, and only after confirming that nothing was there did he slowly relax and tentatively take a step forward.
Nothing in the living room attacked him, only silence responded.
He continued walking towards his door, completely unaware that with every step he took, a shadow followed him as he slowly entered the room.
"Everyone who's still in the living room and has avoided danger has returned to their rooms one after another. I think everything should be fine tonight, right?"
"They're resting now, so I should go rest too. It's tiring to get up in the middle of the night to read Yin Xiu's copy."
"I'm going to bed too. Seeing them sleep is worse than me sleeping. This should be the end of the night."
"According to the rules of this dungeon, tonight may not just pass like this. Don't forget there's another rule regarding the night."
"Ah... the last rule, rule seven, right? But the triggering conditions are vague and I have no idea why it's triggered."
"Based on my experience, for such a non-specific rule, the triggering conditions must be connected to other rules."
"If you put it that way, then the two rules of the night can actually be linked?"
"Very likely."
"It's you big guys who have to study the rules thoroughly. As a newbie, I can only watch."
"I'll study the rules once you can complete the game independently... First, live for a year."
The barrage of comments quieted down, and Yin Xiu's room also became quiet.
He returned to his room, tidied himself up, and then lay down on the bed in the dark to sleep.
At night in this copy, there was no light in the room, making it inconvenient to do anything, but he saw that there was light outside the window, and a large area of light and shadow in the distance, as if there was a densely populated area somewhere else.
Yin Xiu touched the knife hanging on his waist and decided to take a short rest before climbing out the window to check. He was really tired.
After falling into a drowsy state, Yin Xiu fell into a deep sleep on the bed. The room was too dark, and when he returned to the room, he didn't even notice the pair of black footprints beside his bed.
