Chapter 290 Let’s give the child a name

"Punishment? There is still punishment?" Yin Xiu raised his eyebrows slightly.

The man on the other side quickly ate up the bread, raised his bloodshot eyes and looked at Yin Xiu, lowering his voice and saying gloomily, "It's fog! A thick black fog! The black fog will roll up the waves and attack the entire Hai Village! You should leave quickly!"

Yin Xiu paused and roughly understood how to get back, but before the black fog came, he had to walk around again, and he was sure to discover something.

He ignored the man and turned to walk towards the other people. He had to ask them for the information again to confirm that the man had not lied.

This time he chose a pregnant woman who was sitting at the doorway fanning herself with her arms around her belly. She was wearing ragged clothes, and her bulging belly looked a little deformed compared to her thin body. Perhaps because she was given some food during her pregnancy, she was relatively energetic among the people in Hai Village.

She was touching her belly and looking at the sea in the distance, her face full of worry.

After Yin Xiu came close, the woman looked at him, following the sound of his footsteps. "How dare a stranger come here? Aren't you afraid of being robbed?"

Then the woman saw the knife hanging on Yin Xiu's waist, and she understood nothing and said nothing more.

Yin Xiu wordlessly pulled out another small loaf of bread from his pocket and shook it. "Let me ask you something. Do you have a moment?"

The woman stared at the small piece of bread in Yin Xiu's hand, touched her stomach twice, and then looked at Yin Xiu after weighing it in her heart. "Ask me, I'll tell you everything I know."

Yin Xiu asked her about the information that the man had already told him, and the result he got was almost the same, except that this woman often stayed at home and knew less information than the man.

Yin Xiu added, "Have you seen what that god looks like?"

The woman shook her head. "Everyone has to close their eyes during the sacrifice. We can't watch."

"Do you feel uncomfortable when facing the appearance of God?"

The woman shook her head.

"Have people in your village ever developed unidentified black spots on their skin?"

The woman shook her head again.

It seemed that Li Mo was still a very young being at this stage, not enough to have any influence on those around him. In Li Mo's own words, he hadn't yet taken shape. Not to mention a human form, he didn't even have a dark, twisted form yet; he was just a mass of nothingness.

During this period, perhaps because the villagers stopped offering sacrifices and left, Li Mo, who had already developed consciousness, felt the loneliness of being abandoned for the first time, and he must have been throwing a tantrum.

Constantly being asked for and then satisfied, the final result was departure. This created god was abandoned by his believers after losing his usefulness. His sorrow and anger were understandable, but he didn't know that this little temper was enough to make the entire sea village disappear.

The countless deaths and mutations that followed made it realize that humans are so fragile.

Yin Xiu had asked almost all the questions and was ready to take advantage of the time to go somewhere else.

But the woman who took the bread suddenly asked him back, "Do you think my child can still be born?"

Yin Xiu lowered his head and stared at the woman's belly. "I think so."

The woman smiled and said, "I think so too. If I can't hold on any longer, I will secretly leave this place. Others may not accept me, but my mother will definitely accept me. She has always been looking forward to seeing her granddaughter. I will persevere no matter what."

"Doesn't your mother live in Hai Village?"

The woman shook her head. "I came here with my husband. I haven't been back to my parents' home for a long time. The child's grandmother lives in a small town far from here, in Tomb Town. Have you heard of it? Since you came from outside, you should know something about the outside world, right? You might have been there before."

Yin Xiu nodded. He had been there before, but the place was no longer as peaceful as it used to be.

"Oh, you really have been there. I miss my mom so much." The woman sighed, then lowered her head and touched her belly. "Even though that bastard insisted on not having you after knowing you weren't a son, I love daughters. I will definitely give birth to you."

The woman sitting in the shadow of the eaves looked particularly gentle. "What do you think I should name my daughter? Nothing so tacky, something elegant and cute, like a doll."

The way she touched her belly with a smile on her face looked as if she was caressing her daughter.

Yin Xiu seemed to have seen the lovely figure throwing himself into the woman's arms, and said softly, "Call her Yaya. She's very cute and looks like a doll."

The woman chewed on the taste and thought it was good, so she nodded, "Then your nickname will be Yaya from now on. You can ask your grandmother to choose your full name after you are born."

The woman touched her belly happily and said, "Yaya, you must stick with your mother and make sure the birth goes smoothly."

Her gentle voice was a stark contrast to the panicked shouting in the distance.

Someone on the beach was talking about something, but suddenly there was a commotion. "Run! Everyone, run! The black fog is coming! The black fog is coming again!!"

The chaotic noise of the crowd attracted Yin Xiu's attention. When he turned around, he saw a blanket of black fog rising from the sea, rolling up the waves and attacking the entire sea village. The trend was so fast and fierce that a normal person would have no time to dodge.

Yin Xiu turned around and subconsciously resisted the oncoming waves to shield the woman.

But the next second, he was completely sucked into the sea, rolling and drowning. Yin Xiu struggled and swam desperately until he lost his sense of direction in the sea.

As he was swimming, he suddenly felt a tightness around his waist and a force pulled him in one direction. With the help of the force, Yin Xiu instantly floated to the surface of the sea. While taking a long breath, he saw a dazzling light in front of him, which made him open his eyes.

The dark sky of the small town unfolded in front of Yin Xiu, and everything around him changed back to the sunny day with scorching sun in Nahai Village.

Yin Xiu choked on the water, the force around his waist still tightening. He turned around and saw 408 struggling to drag him up the shore.

"How could someone jump into a boiling lake? I've never seen such a brave person. I admire you." 408 cursed while dragging him ashore.

As soon as Yin Xiu got ashore, he learned the lesson of 408.

"If I hadn't thought about you having a boyfriend, I wouldn't bother with you. Cherish your own life and don't make your partner suffer. You're already in a relationship, can you please be more careful?"

Yin Xiu choked on the water twice, took a deep breath, and brushed his wet hair back before looking up at 408 calmly. "You're right, but I won't do it."

Now it was 408's turn to be unable to get up in one breath.

While reeling in the rope, he denounced human fragility and lack of appreciation for life. He talked a lot, but Yin Xiu didn't listen to a word he said. Instead, he turned his head to look at the lake behind him, which was emitting black mist.

"How long have I been down there?"

408 looked up proudly. "I was quick-witted and pulled you out in less than half a minute. The black fog hasn't even cleared yet."

Yin Xiu nodded. It seemed that when he went down there, it was different from the town, perhaps because of the illusion or the different flow of time.

He could go and explore again next time.
