Chapter 37 Don’t Eat Everything

Chapter 37 Don’t Eat Everything

The man in the portrait was an unfamiliar face. He looked at Yin Xiu, who stood quietly against the wall with his eyes closed, and said quietly, "Don't believe everything that woman says."

Yin Xiu opened his eyes, looked up, and after meeting the portrait's gaze, he closed them again silently. "It's true that I can't believe it completely, but I think the part about the mayor is pretty accurate."

The man leaned over the picture frame and stared at Yin Xiu. "The mayor manages the entire town, and everything he does is for the townspeople. That woman is completely slandering the mayor."

"Weren't you the one who was killed by the mayor and then imprisoned in the portrait? And you're still speaking for him?"

The person in the portrait immediately retorted, "Of course not. The people in the portrait are all protected by the mayor. She chose us as sacrifices and gnawed us as her flesh. This is the only way the mayor can preserve our souls."

Yin Xiu lowered his eyes and chuckled, "Your statement is somewhat different."

"You have to believe me, there is no way you can be killed by that woman. Go find the mayor, only he can really spare your life. The mayor is a kind-hearted man." The man in the portrait tried his best to persuade.

Yin Xiu looked up at the portrait again, then looked away again, casually saying, "I saw another man talking to me in the corridor before. He was very handsome, just like the paintings hanging in the corridor during the day, with a unique and exquisite style."

"So what?"

"But you're not that good-looking, and you obviously don't meet the mayor's aesthetic standards."

"...I've already told you that the mayor is a kind-hearted person! He helps people regardless of their appearance!" The man in the portrait was inexplicably annoyed by the sudden attack of his appearance.

"Maybe he doesn't care about appearance when helping someone, but when he wants to turn someone into a work of art, he will definitely take a look." Yin Xiu smiled. "It seems like you must be the type of person he would help out of kindness, right?"

"You!" The man became even more annoyed. "Why do you always mention appearance?"

"I'm just reminding you." Yin Xiu raised his eyes dimly, staring coldly at the man. "As someone like you, who was sacrificed by a woman's revenge and then kept in the mayor's portrait as an accomplice, don't speak for the victims."

"If he really had a kind heart, his daytime portraits wouldn't be filled with only good-looking people. He should at least include some people like you."

The man in the portrait's face turned cold. After seeing that Yin Xiu had seen through him, he simply stopped pretending. "You've been chosen by that woman. I advise you not to be ungrateful. If you want to live, you have no choice but to choose the mayor!"

"Did the mayor send you to persuade me?" Yin Xiu glanced at him coldly. "Go back and tell him not to bother. Even if I die in this dungeon, I won't enter the portrait."

The man's eyes flashed with ferocity, "That's not up to you!"

He pretended to jump out of the portrait, but just as he moved half of his hand, he suddenly retracted it as if he felt something.

Yin Zheng was wondering when he suddenly felt a chill beside him. He turned around and saw Li Mo coming out silently again without any sound.

"You are scarier than a monster..." Occasionally, if Yin Xiu relaxed a little, he would not be able to catch Li Mo's movements, which was really dangerous for him who had to be on guard all the time.

Li Mo smiled calmly, showing no apology for scaring Yin Xiu. He raised his eyes and fixed them on the portrait. Then he turned his gaze to Yin Xiu nonchalantly and mentioned the little girl, "Hasn't she come out yet?"

"Not yet..." Yin Xiu turned his head to look in the direction of the women's restroom, frowned slightly, and turned back into the restroom with some worry, "Why is there no sound at all? Let me go in and take a look."

Li Mo watched Yin Xiu leave with a smile. As soon as he left, he turned his head and looked directly at the portrait of the person who had just spoken.

The man with his eyes closed in the portrait felt guilty and tried to retreat quietly from the portrait. But before he could leave, a hand suddenly reached out, shattered the glass of the frame in an instant, and grabbed his neck.

The man opened his eyes in panic and saw Li Mo standing in front of the portrait, looking at him with a smile.

"Did the old man ask you to come?" he said as he grabbed the man's neck and pulled him out.

The man looked horrified.

Impossible! The only person who could have taken their portraits out was the mayor! How could this man in front of me also be able to do it!

"Let me go!" The man tried frantically to stay in the frame, but Li Mo grabbed his neck and easily pulled him out of the frame.

Then, the man saw Li Mo slowly open his mouth, with a row of terrifying teeth waiting for him, and his brain was instantly filled with terror.

"Help, help! Mayor! Save me!!" The man's panicked voice echoed throughout the corridor, and all the portraits began to tremble and were filled with fear.

They watched helplessly as Li Mo pulled the man out of the portrait, rolled the spirit into a ball, and stuffed it into his mouth. He didn't even chew it and swallowed it with a gulp.

The other portraits in the corridor began to tremble, not daring to make any big movements, for fear that if Li Mo noticed it, it would be their turn.

Li Mo licked his lips after finishing his meal, feeling somewhat unsatisfied. His gaze slowly fell on the other portraits in the corridor.

The portraits trembled even more violently, and the layers of fear were instantly transmitted through the frames to the mayor in the basement.

He hadn't felt this kind of chill in a long time, and the threat of the spiritual light rising straight into the sky also made him shiver.

"Are you trying to tell me that even if I put him in a frame, you can still take him out?" The mayor suppressed the displeasure that was rising in his heart, sneered, and reached out to touch the beautiful frame that was carefully customized for Yin Xiu. His eyes turned cold in the dim light, and he muttered to himself, "Don't worry, I will hide him somewhere you will never find him."

"No one can take him away from this copy."

Li Mo finished eating and was about to move to the next picture frame when he suddenly heard footsteps coming from the toilet behind him.

Yin Xiu came out holding the little girl. As soon as he appeared, Li Mo turned around and went back, making the portraits breathe a sigh of relief.

"I didn't expect that she fell asleep on the table right after eating." Yin Xiu took a deep breath and walked out holding the little girl in his arms. As soon as he went out, he noticed the broken glass on the ground in front of the portrait, and the portrait was empty, with no shadow of the man.

It's not like he didn't hear the noise outside before, so he could see clearly what happened.

He looked at the portrait and then at Li Mo.

Li Mo pursed his lips and said nothing.

The comments flew by quickly, full of anticipation. "Finally, Yin Xiu gets to see his crime scene! Yin Xiu is so smart, he must know what just happened!"

"What will he think about his roommate being a weirdo?"

"I bet Yin Xiu will chase him away! After all, he's a dangerous monster!"

"Look at the little girl in Yin Xiu's arms before you speak. I bet he won't."

"The little girl is a monster from the dungeon. Yin Xiu knows her identity perfectly well, but this roommate is not. I'm still betting he'll kick her out!"

"I bet not!"

After a while of heated comments on the topic, Yin Xiu finally spoke.
