Chapter 78 The Grave of the Greedy

Chapter 78 The Grave of the Greedy

With one kick, the two dry skeleton hands were crushed to pieces, but immediately more skeleton hands jumped up and hugged Yin Xiu's feet.

It dug out a bunch of beautiful flowers from the soil and said, "I want to exchange with you. I'll give you this one that's better and more beautiful."

Yin Xiu pulled his legs, "No."

"What about this one! This one is so beautiful!" Another bunch of flowers was turned out from the soil. The flowers didn't even look like the flowers that should exist in the real world. They were colorful and shining, extremely beautiful and breathtaking.

Yin Xiu's gaze fell on the flowers and paused slightly, as if his whole body was pulled by the flowers and he couldn't move his eyes away.

The voice under the soil became psychedelic and low, slowly tempting:

"Look, the yellow flowers represent family. If you have them, you will have a happy family. You won't have to grow up in an orphanage. You will have a lovely sister to accompany you and parents who treat you well. Your life will be rich instead of being penniless."

"Blue flowers are friends. You will no longer be shunned by everyone, you will no longer lose attention, you will have many people to accompany you, and they will stay with you without giving anything.

"Red flowers represent lovers. The areas you have never ventured into are new and beautiful to you. You will be deeply loved, valued, and accompanied by others for a long time. You will face death together, rather than being alone.

“Purple flowers represent money. Maybe you don’t care about it that much, but you can’t live without it.

"Do you want it? Do you want it? With this bouquet of flowers, you will have a complete life. Your missing emotions, your vague memories, your past that is as cold as the wind, your pain will all be healed by this bouquet of flowers.

"I only need the pitiful little flower in your hand in exchange."

The voice under the soil murmured again and again, and the bunch of colorful flowers kept twisting and changing in his eyes, taking on various shapes.

"Look at you, you're so pitiful. You have nothing, and your only remaining friend is dying. You must want more than poverty, right? Come and trade. Just trade with me."

The hand quietly reached out to Yin Xiu and slowly touched the small bright red flower between his fingers.

When his dry hand was about to touch it, Yin Xiu retracted his hand slightly and protected the flower in his palm.

His dazed eyes regained clarity for a moment, but became hazy again the next second, and he managed to utter a few unclear words, "I won't give it to you..."

"The first...gift...I received..."

"A gift from a monster..."

“I won’t be happy if I don’t have it…”

The more he muttered, the more he gritted his teeth, his brows furrowed, and he suddenly turned his head away, looking away from the bouquet, and shouted angrily: "What a rubbish! The colors are so mixed, it's ugly! I don't want it!"

The skeleton hands trembled, and for the first time, someone broke free from temptation.

"Don't you want it? Why not? These are things you don't have? Why don't you want them?"

Her hand slowly moved forward, trying to bring the colorful flowers to Yin Xiu again, but he swept them away with his eyes closed, "Not interested, take them away."

A voice from the ground screamed, "Impossible! There's no way someone wouldn't want it! People are greedy. They only want more and more, endlessly."

"Why don't you want it! Why don't you want it!

"I know, you are not a human, you are a monster, a monster among humans, cold-blooded and heartless, that's why you have nothing!"

Yin Xiu frowned and stepped on the place where the sound came from, "Shut up!"

As he moved, more hands emerged from the soil and grabbed his feet. Voices floated and overlapped, "Give me... give me something, give me... anything, give me... I want it..."

Yin Xiu let out a deep breath, not wanting to get too entangled with these hands. He raised his eyes and looked towards the end of the cemetery. There was a door there. Opening that door would lead to the next section of the corridor, at least he could get rid of these hands.

He no longer paid attention to the sound coming from underground, but turned and walked towards the door step by step.

If he moved even slightly, more hands would spring out from the soil and grab him. If he shook some off, more would only emerge.

They tried to grab Yin Xiu's ankles, but when they couldn't, they began to surge out and climb onto his legs while he was walking, hugging his waist and pulling his arms, trying to crush him here little by little with their weight.

Yin Xiu pulled the group of clinging skeleton hands and walked with heavy steps along the road in the cemetery to the door at the end.

He took a deep breath, put his hand on the door handle, and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, a new voice came from behind me, sounding childish and crisp.

"Brother...why are you leaving? Aren't you going to stay with Xiaoxiao? Aren't you looking for Xiaoxiao?"

Yin Xiu paused, his pupils trembling slightly.

In his moment of hesitation, the skeletons on his body suddenly surged up, covered his eyes, and pressed down with heavy force, trying to drag Yin Xiu back.

Everything in front of Yin Xiu was pitch black, and he could only fumble with the door handle, trying to open the door or grab something.

In the darkness, his hands waved wildly in the air, but he couldn't touch the door. It seemed that in an instant, the distance to the door became extremely far away.

He groped for the door with one hand and tried to uncover the skeleton hand covering his eyes with the other. In his blurred vision, a little light seemed to emerge before his eyes.

The next second, someone grabbed the hand he stretched out. The touch was extremely cold, without any warmth at all. The feeling transmitted from the palm of his hand made Yin Xiu tremble.

The man grabbed him and pulled him over, and he instantly fell into his arms, which were also cold and heartless.

A familiar voice sounded above my head, as unpredictable and smiling as ever, "Your brother has me now, so he won't stay with you."

Yin Xiu felt the heavy weight pressing on him turn into powder in an instant and began to collapse and shatter. Sharp screams rang out from under the ground, and all the skeletons' hands tried to crawl back into the ground, but they dissipated into the air before they could get back in.

After the loud screams, the cemetery returned to silence.

There were no flowers, no skulls, no sounds, only desolation.

Yin Xiu opened his eyes and found a row of small words on the door panel next to him: Grave of the Greedy.

Before he could investigate further, Li Mo, who was holding him, tightened his arms, rested his head on Yin Xiu's shoulder, and whispered, "You didn't get anything from them, did you?"

"Yeah." Yin Xiu responded.

"That's good." Li Mo let him go, took out the rules sheet he had just received from his pocket, and said with a smile: "I came back after eating and brought you a gift."

Yin Xiu stared silently at the rule sheet in Li Mo's hand, "...hmm."

Then he slowly closed his eyes and sighed, "I feel like I was hurt in that place just now."

Li Mo paused, "Where?"

"Mentally." Yin Xiu slowly opened his eyes and reached out to take the rule sheet that Li Mo handed him. "But I'm fine now."
