Chapter 45 Reaching the Summit

Long Ling was still a little confused. She blinked and looked around in bewilderment before finally focusing her gaze on Long Qi.

Where am I?

"We're on the Ladder of Inquiry! We've already passed through that illusion. Now all we have to do is climb up and we can borrow the Dragon Ball from the young master!" Long Qi exclaimed excitedly.

"Really? That's wonderful!" Long Ling exclaimed excitedly.

"Okay, let's go!"

Long Qi and Long Ling dared not delay any longer, because they had wasted a lot of time climbing up and had stayed in the illusion for quite a while. It was already getting light, and if they didn't hurry, they might not be able to borrow the Dragon Ball.

After all, the young master said that they had to reach the mountaintop before dawn.

The sky was beginning to lighten, and the sun was slowly rising.

Long Zhenzhu kept her eyes fixed on the two people in the water mirror, while Long Qianling had already jumped up to a big tree to sleep.

Looking at Long Qi and Long Ling struggling to climb in the water mirror, Long Zhenzhu couldn't help but cheer them on.

Suddenly realizing that she could no longer hear Long Qianling breathing beside her, she quickly stood up to look for her.

Where did the young master go?

After searching for a while, she finally found Long Qianling sleeping in the tree. She looked up at the lush tree trunk and pursed her lips. The young master was sleeping soundly, but she had to keep an eye on the two of them, afraid that something might happen to them.

Long Zhenzhu withdrew her gaze and walked back to the water mirror. As soon as she looked up, she saw Long Qi in the water mirror lose his footing and fall down the Heart-Questioning Ladder.

She couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh no!"

Startled awake by the shout, Long Qianling immediately opened his eyes and leaped to land beside her.

"What are you doing?" Long Qianling rubbed her eyes and said irritably.

"Young Master, Young Master, Long Qi just fell down the Ladder of Inquiry." Long Zhenzhu pointed at the water mirror with a look of horror.

Long Qianling looked over and saw that Long Qi was lying on the ground, clutching his foot, his face pale.

"Aqi, how are you?" Long Ling looked back with concern, wanting to go down and help Long Qi up, but was blocked by an invisible barrier.

"What happened?"

Long Qi winced in pain; he had twisted his ankle. But seeing how anxious Long Ling was, he endured the pain and explained, "The Ladder of Inquiry can only be climbed upwards, not backwards. I accidentally missed a step and that's why I fell."

But once you fall, you have to start all over again, Ah Ling. From now on, you're on your own.

“But…” Long Ling didn’t want to leave him, and was in a dilemma.

"Ah Ling, if you don't hurry, it will be broad daylight!" Long Qi said solemnly.

Long Ling looked at him for a while before replying, "A Qi, wait for me!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he gritted his teeth and continued climbing without looking back.

Long Qianling watched silently as Long Ling struggled to climb. She turned to Long Zhenzhu and asked, "Is a fox really that important?"

Dragon Pearl stroked her chin, pondering for a while: "Perhaps that fox is of great significance to him."

"Are you stupid? Didn't they say they rescued him? And that it was of extraordinary significance? I think they're just being overly kind." Long Qianling sneered.

People who readily offer kindness are the easiest to deceive. Didn't he ever consider that the fox might be part of a trap set by the enemy?

His kindness is indeed rare, but being too kind will only harm himself, or the entire dragon clan.

"Young Master, you can't say that..." Long Zhenzhu gave an awkward laugh.

She really couldn't understand how someone could be wrong for being kind-hearted.

"Hmph, foolish." Long Qianling scoffed lightly, then turned and flew back to the tree.

Long Zhenzhu watched her retreating figure, scratching her head. Why was the young master being so harsh with her again? She didn't seem to have said anything wrong.

Long Zhenzhu naturally didn't think as much as Long Qianling. After all, Long Qianling was being groomed to be the next patriarch of the Dragon Clan, and she had to consider the entire Dragon Clan and eliminate all dangers.

for a long time.

The sun had fully risen, and Long Ling, his legs trembling, finally climbed to the top of the mountain.

Long Ling lay on the ground, panting heavily. Long Zhenzhu walked up to him and squatted down.

"You're pretty good. You managed to climb up in just one night."

After a long pause, Long Ling looked up at Long Zhenzhu, who was smiling broadly, her voice trembling.

"Young...where is the young master?"

Just as Long Zhenzhu was about to speak, the black hem of a dress came into view, and the two of them looked up at the newcomer at the same time.

Then they saw Long Qianling looking at them with a stern face.

"Young Master..." Long Ling spoke tentatively, her voice extremely cautious.

"Um"

Long Qianling gave a cold "hmm," withdrew her gaze, raised her hand and directly made a gap, reached inside and pulled Long Qi out.

"Ah, I am... Young Master?!"

Long Qi stared wide-eyed at the scene before him in disbelief.

Wasn't he still on the Ladder of Inquiry? How did he suddenly appear here?

Long Ling's eyes widened as she saw her tear open the spatial rift with her bare hands.

The young master is indeed very powerful and strong; he truly deserves to be the next patriarch of their dragon clan.

Only Long Zhenzhu, standing to the side, seemed unfazed. Back when she saw Long Qianling tear open the spatial rift, her reaction was far more dramatic than theirs.

The two of them could only stare wide-eyed, speechless, while she screamed out loud.

After all, to achieve what the young master has, one needs immense demonic power, and there is also a demanding condition: the ability to comprehend the laws of space.

No one in the entire demon realm could comprehend it, but their young master was the exception.

Long Qianling remained unfazed by their reactions, releasing Long Qi's arm and immediately giving Long Zhenzhu a look.

Dragon Pearl immediately understood, took out a bottle of healing pills from her own space, poured out two pills and handed them over.

"Here, eat this and you'll be back to normal."

Long Ling and Long Qi exchanged a glance, then obediently took the pills and swallowed them. Soon, a warm current washed over their bodies, and their aches and pains gradually subsided, and their fatigue disappeared.

Long Qi's foot no longer hurt, and his eyes sparkled when he looked at Long Zhenzhu.

"Could this be a pill refined by Elder Gu?"

"You actually know your stuff!" Long Zhenzhu put the medicine bottle back and replied with a smile.

"I heard my elder sister say before that Elder Gu's pills are the best in the Dragon Clan. The fact that he recovered so quickly must be due to Elder Gu's pills."

"Of course, Elder Gu is the best in our Dragon Clan in medicine and alchemy," Long Zhenzhu said with admiration.

I wonder if she will be able to become the most powerful person in the entire Dragon Clan's magic array in the future.

"Alright, stop talking," Long Qianling quickly interrupted, seeing that the two seemed determined to continue their conversation.

"Young Master..."
