Chapter 281 Happiness Should Be Shared

Beneath the Mango Desert lies a hidden underground palace.

A beam of sunlight, somehow brought in, shone directly onto the floor in the center of the main hall of the underground palace.

In the sunlight, countless dust particles spun continuously like a golden galaxy.

Suddenly, a door appeared in the beam of light.

The door opened, and a man and a woman walked out one after the other.

It was Styx and Xin Sui, whom he had "invited" back.

"Miss Xin, welcome to the headquarters of our Star-Picking Alliance."

Xin Sui chuckled inwardly, but said aloud, "I'm honored."

Earlier, she had been cursing Xuan Tu, which was overheard by Ming He. Since she couldn't beat him in a fight, she took the opportunity to pretend to be irreconcilably opposed to Xuan Tu in front of Ming He.

Then, adhering to the idea that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," they "colluded" with him.

Xin Sui pretended to look around curiously, "Why don't I see anyone else?"

Styx: "I wasn't sure if you would join us and fight against Xuantu, so I didn't prepare a welcome banquet in advance."

"But don't worry, now that you've joined us and become one of us, I'll arrange a banquet for you tonight to introduce you to everyone."

Xin Sui looked expectant. "That would be great."

"I've prepared a room for you, please come with me."

Xin Sui followed behind the Styx River, passing through numerous archways and corridors, and walked for nearly twenty minutes before finally arriving at a room.

"How do you feel? Are you satisfied?" Styx opened the door and stood in the doorway to ask her.

Xin Sui walked in, looked around, and nodded with a smile.

"I really like this room."

That's not a lie.

The room is spacious, well-lit, and tastefully and comfortably furnished. There's also a large terrace outside, making it a very livable place.

"Whatever you like. There's a call bell on the table. If you need anything, just ring it and someone will come to serve you."

After explaining a few things, Styx took his leave.

Xin Sui watched him leave and then closed the door.

"System, please check if there are any surveillance cameras or listening devices in the room."

[No.]

Xin Sui finally relaxed.

Below the terrace is a garden, and the flowers in the yard are very vibrant.

In the middle stands a tall flowering tree, its red blossoms, shaped like a phoenix, densely packed together, resembling billowing clouds.

It looked as if a person was lying among the branches of the flowering tree.

Lying in the tree was a boy who looked about sixteen or seventeen years old, with short blue hair, one arm behind his head, dozing off.

He smacked his lips and occasionally made chewing sounds, clearly dreaming of something delicious.

In the dream, the boy sat at a table with lots of delicious food on it.

There were quite a few people sitting around the table, but their faces were all blurry, except for the young man sitting next to him, whose face was clear.

After finishing his meal, he wiped his mouth and said to the young man, "This is the most delicious meal I've had since I got out. Thank you for your hospitality, but I'm still going to kill you."

Then he made his move on the young man.

In a sudden shift in the dream, his soul floated in mid-air, and a woman attempted to trap him with her spiritual power.

This woman is really overestimating herself.

The boy knew perfectly well that he was dreaming, and he commented to himself.

Just as he was about to leave, the woman's soul burst out of her body and pounced on him, tearing at him frantically.

He was swallowed up by the woman, bit by bit.

The agony of being devoured and torn apart in the dream spread into reality, and the boy screamed "Ah!" and woke up.

"This is so bizarre, why did I have such a dream?"

The boy muttered something, then, noticing someone watching him, he brushed aside the flowers and saw a woman lying on a nearby terrace, looking in his direction.

The moment the boy saw the woman, his expression changed. Wasn't this the woman from his dream who had devoured his soul?

Am I still dreaming or not?

The boy pinched himself, felt pain, then picked a flower and squeezed out the sap from its petals.

The juice is fragrant, sticky, and thick—a sensation that could never be found in a dream.

This isn't a dream, so what's the deal with that woman?

The boy teleported onto the terrace. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

This woman gave him a strange feeling; she seemed human, yet not quite.

Upon closer inspection, he realized that she only looked similar to the woman in his dream at first glance, but they were actually quite different.

The moment Xin Sui saw the boy, she almost blurted out the name "Zi You".

This seemingly young Earthling was none other than Zi You, the Earthling she had killed in a parallel world.

However, he looks a few years older here.

That's normal, after all, this place has been in the apocalypse for 277 years.

Although the appearance of a superhuman is basically fixed after they advance to the Nebula Realm (fourth tier) and they age very slowly, they will still age eventually.

Xin Sui calmly retorted, "And who are you?"

Zi You: "I asked you first."

Xin Sui: "Do you think I have to answer your questions?"

Zi You: "..."

He looked her up and down. "Oh, I remember now, you're the woman Xuan Tu hid?"

His words clearly revealed a piece of information—the Earth Core Clan was very familiar with Xuan Tu's whereabouts.

Xuan Tu has been "hiding" her in the wooden house for only a few days. How did the Earth Core Clan know about this?

She found it strange that Styx had come to her directly before.

Xin Sui revealed an angry and disgusted expression: "I was imprisoned there by Xuan Tu."
